Chapter 19

**Odette’s point of view: A Magical moonlight experience… **

In all the history books I have read about him there were never a portrait of him, so he was always this mysterious enigma for me.

Odette: “You’re… You’re our Emperor.”

I said with a soft whisper, before I quickly bowed my head to him.

He slowly approached me again and with his one hand he softly touched my chin and lifted up my head, I had no choice but to look into his eyes again.

Alexander: “Odette, you never have to bow your head to me again, do you understand?”

He said it in a soft and calming voice, but his words just confused me. It didn’t make sense, why would he say such words to me, I’m just one of his many subjects…

It seems that he senses my confusion, but instead of pulling back, he took hold of both my shoulders and lowered his head to my level without breaking eyes contact with me.

Alexander: “Since the first moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew you were special and then after spending some time with you, realization hit me…”

Alexander: “After centuries of endless searching, I finally found my immortal mate or rather she found me!”

With his eyes locked on mine, he then slowly moved his hands down my arms, to take hold of my hands again, before lifting them up to his lips and planting a soft kiss on both ridges of my hands. My heart suddenly skipped a beat, from the declaration and unexpected, sensual touch from Alex. But then I shut my mind off and let go of my thoughts, before losing myself in the wonderful sensation, he had awakened in the core of my being. It felt like nothing I have ever experienced before or could have imagined…

Odette: “For some unexplainable reason, every inch of my being tells me that you are speaking the truth. I also can’t deny the connection that I feel between us.”

Odette: “The more time we spend together the stronger our connection grows. I have never felt like this before.”

Odette: “At first, it scared me when you told me your true identity, but as I stared into your eyes and felt your warm touch, my fears and concerns slowly started to melt away again.”

Alex smiled and let out a breath of relief, before resting his forehead against mine.

I relished myself in the feeling of complete blissfulness that washed over us; we finally found and accepted each other as immortal mates.

After standing in that position for a while, Alex lifted up his head from mine and softly smiled down at me, before he broke our contact and approached midnight, to retrieve a blanket that was attached to the saddle and untied it. With the blanket securely tugged under one arm, he then reached out with his other arm and grabbed hold of my out-stretched hand, before intertwining our hands together.

Earlier, Alex pointed out to me, a perfect place to go sit and admire the view from. Hand in hand we slowly walked up to one of the larger rocks, that is located near the lake front. With the magical light of the moon shining above and beautiful frozen lake stretched out in front of us, Alex unfolded the blanket and placed it on top of the rock, before we both sat down next to each other and talked for a while longer.

Later on, we headed back to the castle and after saying goodnight to midnight with a sugar cube and a head rub, Alex and I made our way back into the castle, through the small door I came out from earlier.

After climbing a few new staircases and walking through much different hallways as before. Then we arrived in a beautifully decorated hallway, apart from other hallways this one is lit with a beautiful chandelier, located just above our heads. Alex finally came to a stop in front of a large, dark wooden door, before turning around and facing me.

Alexander: “This is your sleeping quarters for the rest of the night. Your parent’s room are just around the corner, I made sure to keep you close to them.”

I nodded and gave him a grateful smile.

Odette: “I don’t know what else to say, but to thank you Alex. You made today the happiest day of my life, I'm so grateful to have found you at long last.”

Alex took my hands in his and warmly smiled at me.

Alexander: “After millions of years of being dead inside, I finally found purpose and meaning again in this life.”

Alexander: “I started to feel alive again when you stared into my soul with that beautiful blue eye of yours. The very first time we met, under that large old tree in the fairy realm.”

Alex let out a small chuckle, when a deep red blush crept up from my neck to my cheeks. With a smile on his face, he just lifted up my right hand and kissed it softly.

Alexander: “I will see you over a few hours again, until then I wish you goodnight and sleep well, my dearest Odette.”

A big smile formed on my lips and my eyes lit up with excitement, at the thought of spending more time with him again tomorrow.

Odette: “I can’t wait until daybreak, but until then goodnight Alex and sleep well.”

After one last glance in my direction Alex turned around and walked away, when I entered my room and closed the door behind me.
