Chapter 26

**Alexander’s point of view: A sudden change in plans.**

After telling my friend and trusted ally, the fairy king, about the events that unfolded, that day I left his castle, he was kind enough to stay behind with his wife, for a few more days after the festivities had concluded.

The day after Odette’s departure, I shared the exciting news of finding my immortal mate, with my friends the fairy king and queen. As I expected, their reaction to my unexpected announcement, were disbelief at first, but as the reality of my words finally sunk in, their reactions gradually changed into feelings of being overjoyed. Afterwards, the both of them properly congratulated me, on finally finding my fated love.

With both of their magic combined, they summoned a rage and majestic creature, born out of the very fabric of magic itself! The magical creature seemed to come out of a bright golden portal, that had suddenly appeared and opened up in the middle of the study, where we were busy having our afternoon tea. It was a large bird species of sorts, but none that I have ever seen before in my life time.

After they had successfully summoned the creature, they enlightened me with knowledge of the creature, by telling me that the creature is in fact a female eagle. These creatures live in their own realm, that exists in the space between the three realms and connecting rivers, it is invisible to the naked eye and can only be accessed by powerful old magic. This kind of magic can only be accessed through the royal fae bloodline. They also told me more about her origins and how she is connected to everything containing mystical magic.

They confided in me, that they actually have been waiting a very long time for me to find my other half, so that they could finally summon this creature that was destined to bond with the chosen emperor and his fated love. As it was predicted thousands of years ago, by an unknown author that had written it down in historical books, containing legends of this specific prophecy.
I was stunned to hear their baffling admission, about this strange and unknown prophecy, I have never heard of before.

My friend saw the expression of confusion on my face, before walking over to me and disclosing to me that this specific piece of information has been a family secret, since before they came into existence. That’s why they didn’t mention it to me until now, now that the prophecy appears not to be a mere legend or myth anymore.

Later on, they slowly allowed her to form a bond with me, they also told me that she is a special gift to be cherished, by my fated love and I and that she will help strengthen the bond, Odette and I share. After that last statement, they skilfully changed the subject and continued the conversation, by talked about other ordinary day to day activities. I just smiled and cleared my head, knowing by now not to ask any more questions. Because knowing my friends for so long, I knew they were done with the subject and wouldn’t talk about it anymore!

While my friends were keeping me company, they also offered their assistance with getting everything back in order at the castle. The last few months has been chaotic and the castle has been in disarray, ever since we started with all the preparations for the ball and the grant feast afterwards. Also getting everything ready for the guests and their overnight stay. Each in their own private courters, that’s custom-tailored to suit all of their needs for the duration of their stay.

Now that the festivities have ended and everyone has gone back to their own realms, it’s time for everyone to settle down and get back to their normal daily routine.
A few days after the festivities, a messenger was sent from the werewolf realm, informing us about a sudden decline in the werewolf king’s health… A mere week after we have received the news of the werewolf king’s unexpected health problems, another messenger was sent. He delivered news of the crown prince ascending to the throne!

With the sudden decline in his father’s health and him unable to perform his royal duties as king, immediate action was required. The werewolf queen took it upon herself and made the dissection to temporarily crown their son, as ruler over the werewolf kingdom. Her son will rule in his father’s place, until her husband’s health has improved and he is able to perform his duties as king again.

With this sudden new development of events, I can’t help but think something big is underway. My gut tells me that the person who has orchestrated my attack a few months ago, is also behind this strange, new circumstances that is transpiring in the werewolf realm…

We received the first letter from the werewolf realm, when we were busy discussing the peculiar manner of how the attack on me took place and had ended. We were also discussing the fact, that I was fortunate enough to have found my fated love that very same day.

My friends the fairy king and Xavier, also thought the sudden changes taking place in the werewolf kingdom, too strange to be a coincidence…

Thousands of years ago, with both approval and encouragement from the royal fae family, one of the twin brothers who worked in the royal fairy library, decided to come over and work for me, in the vampire realm.

The fairy librarians, are a few hundred years older than the fairy king and Xavier; excluding myself because I’m older than all of them. As a show of respect to the elders, they refer to both librarian brothers as uncle.

Not wanting anyone to feel uneasy in my presence, with my position that ranks above them; in the end, I also started to call the head librarian uncle!

For days on end, we sat in the royal library, discussing and forming a strategy of how to find out the truth, behind this sudden and unforeseen chain of events. As the royal librarian, uncle, was crucial in gathered all the necessary information from the werewolf section of the library. With uncle’s help, we formed a well thought out plan of action, to further our investigation.

After doing in-depth research on the subject, we found a credible way to sneak into the werewolf realm undetected. We discovered the recipe of a potion, known for disguising ones natural scent, with werewolf pheromones.

My friend the fairy king, used his abilities to create the magical, disguising potion. Xavier and I will be the ones to execute the plan, because there is no one more qualified than us, for this mission. Our combined extensive knowledge and experience, including expert military skills and fast thinking in unplanned situations and without buckling under pressure; are all examples of assurance for success.

The two of us going on this mission together are an excellent choice, for succeeding in our goal with the ongoing investigation and uncovering the truth behind it all.
