Chapter 11

When we got in the car.
I tightly held onto the marriage certificate. "Kenneth, can I still do whatever I want like before? Or am I controlled? Will you want me to have children?"
Oh no, now that we're married, I just remembered these questions.
Kenneth held my hand. "If you're worried about these things, there's no need. After all..."
"Didn't I also have control over you before we got married?"
"......"
Get lost!
I shrugged off his hand and said. "Let's go, but don't tell Fiona yet. I need to think of a way to reveal this to her."
Kenneth started the engine and said, "You two are just a couple of rebellious kids. Marriage isn't really that scary."
I rolled my eyes at him and said, "It's not that scary, I'm already used to it anyway. But Fiona is my best friend, so as someone who has experienced it, I have to give her some advice. She should stay away from cunning older men."
"Older men?" Kenneth clearly disliked that term and shook his head. "I'm only twelve years older than you, you know?"
"Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to discriminate based on age."
Shoot! I made a mistake...
"I take back what I said earlier. Actually, older men aren't scary; it's bad men that are scary."
Kenneth: "......"
He smiled, and that smile seemed like he had something planned.
"Yes, aren't you attracted to bad men?"
"......"
Now Kenneth is my husband, and we're in this for the long haul!
I couldn't help it; my gaze froze. "Um, everything needs a balance, don't you think?"
"Cynthia!" Kenneth gritted his teeth. "Take that look out of your eyes!"
"......"
What's wrong?
I was just kindly reminding him, that's all.
Did I say something in the wrong way?
I won't care about bad men who don't know what's good for them.
Fiona still doesn't know that I've become her aunt.
How should I tell her?
Will she end our friendship?
I tried to establish an emotional connection with Fiona.
"Fiona, we promised to be best friends for life, didn't we?"
Fiona sipped on her bubble tea and nodded, "Yes, we did."
"No matter what mistakes you make, I will forgive you." I looked serious.
Fiona looked at me, and I don't know if I was mistaken, but I saw a hint of guilt flash across her face.
"Why...why are you suddenly bringing this up?" she asked.
I squinted my eyes and said, "Fiona, are you hiding something from me..."
"No!" Fiona widened opened her eyes wide, but her face clearly said so, "I'm sorry, I messed up, what are you going to do about it?"
Something is off about her.
I can't ask her directly; I need more time to investigate without her knowing, behind the scenes.
