Chapter 6

I didn't remember anything.
I didn't remember how much I drank last night, what I did afterwards, or how I got home.
Ooh, right. Kenneth brought me back. Fiona asked him to pick me up; I remember that.
But I can't remember what happened between Kenneth and me after he took me back home.
He was here with me now...
Kenneth slowly opened his eyes: "Do you have a headache?"
"It's okay."
My head wasn't throbbing, but I felt a bit nauseous.
Hangovers weren’t pleasant.
Kenneth sat up: "I'll get some food; you can sleep a bit longer."
He seemed to be in a good mood.
But, in fact, he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Smiling doesn't just mean he's happy; there's a hidden agenda blade behind his smile.
I sat up: "When you picked me up at the bar last night, did I do anything?"
"Not really, you just got really drunk. Why did you drink so much? Are you feeling down?"
I shook my head: "Not really, I've come to terms with it. I was too full of myself. I just graduated; I should take it slow at work."
"It's not because you just graduated, Cynthia. You're capable and ambitious. I'm not denying that ambition is a good thing, but..."
I chuckled lightly: "But it also needs to be accompanied by the corresponding ability, right? I understand."
Kenneth silently looked at me for a while, then sighed: "Perhaps, I was just too selfish."
"What do you mean?" I didn't understand his words.
Kenneth touched my cheek and chuckled softly: "You're so captivating. How can I say that to you?"
"..."
I will go get some food first." He turned around to get off the bed.
Suddenly, a voice came from outside.
"Fiona?"
I was extremely terrified, so I quickly pulled Kenneth back and stuffed him under the blanket.
"Don't move."
I adjusted the blanket so no one could tell there was a person inside, which relieved me a bit.
I stacked two pillows together and lay down.
The bedroom door opened, and in came...
"Mom? Why are you here?"
