Chapter 43- CHAPTER 43: DEED
The streams of light fought its way through the cracks of the cabin, blinding Aurora's eyes just as she opened them. Last night's reveal had left Leonardo shocked so much that she saw the beads of sweat running down his face.
She could not bear to look at him any longer, ashamed that she had chosen her pleasure over revealing the truth to him. Just as he was about to pull out of her, her legs pushed him to her, now wanting him to exit.
'I—I am sorry, but please, I need you" she pleaded with him. As though understanding each other's need for one another, Leonardo had continued but this time, taking his time to allow Aurora the pleasure of her first time with him.
Just as if he was reading her mind, he knew just where to touch, pace at which to thrust and when to speed and whisper comforting words into her ears. The heat between their bodies had bonded their bodies in ways that neither of them could understand.
But the pleasure that Leonardo had given her was one that she could never forget for as long as she lived, she had lost count of how many times that she had orgasmed under his sheer bearable weight.
Just when she thought that the moment could not get any more magical, they had climaxed together, her moaning and Leonardo uttering her name passionately like his life depended on it and heat of his explosion filled her.
He collapsed right next to her and out of breath but the entire time, he held her close to him, almost as though he was afraid of losing her. To be held by Leonardo was by far more than Aurora could have ever asked for.
She turned on her side and her heart dropped as she realized that Leonardo was nowhere near the bed or in the cabin. Once more, her insecurities played with her.
He probable left because you lied to him. She shut her eyes tightly, trying to wish away the negative thoughts that plagued her mind.
'Leonardo!" she called out to him multiple times but still there was no answer, her mind hand finally won.
'He's mad at me" she told herself softly as she gathered the sheets to cover her naked body and her heart skipped a beat as the door swung open and right before her was Leonardo.
A light smile escaped from her lips, never had she thoughts that he would be this excited to see someone before. But here she was, looking as excited as a kid in a candy store.
'Hi" both said in unison, realizing what they both had done, they looked away from each other like two teenagers.
'How was your night—I mean—?"
'It was great!" she answered ecstatically but quickly wishing she had allowed him to finish what it was that he had wanted to say to her. Aurora quickly shut her mouth and looked way, embarrassed at herself.
'Oh, I guess I'm glad to hear that. About last night—"
'You regret it right?" Aurora interrupted him, her heart breaking as she concluded that Leonardo was having regrets about what had happened last night. Pulling the sheets over her chest to cover her naked breasts, she looked way from Leonardo, almost in tears.
'Can you just listen to me without putting words in my mouth!" he raised his voice, irritated that Aurora concluded that he regretted their love making last night. 'What I wanted to say was… what I wanted to say was that, last night was beautiful and I hope that I pleased you as much as you pleased me".
Leonardo's confession had come as a shock to Aurora, who carefully and skillfully wiped her tears away without Leonardo realizing as she turned to look at him. Just like always, he had a little smile spanning from the corner of his lips and his eyes glittered like stars when he looked at her.
'Well, I enjoyed it too. I felt a little bad for you" she smiled as she told him and Leonardo raised his eyebrow questionably.
'Why would you feel bad for me?"
'Well, I just lay there whilst you did all the hard work" she joked and luckily for her, Leonardo caught on and he laughed lightly.
'No you did not, your response to my every action was all that you needed to do to please me" he told her and then silence filled their cabin. An uncomfortable feeling filled the air. 'I want to apologize to you Avena" Leonardo told her, his apology had come as a surprise to her.
'Why are you apologizing?"
'I guess that from what I have heard about you—"
'You assumed that I was some sort of lose woman?" She completed his answer; Leonardo looked away, ashamed that he had believed such lies about his wife. Not knowing where to look or what do, he placed his hands inside his jean pockets.
'You have no idea how bad I feel about judging you like I did"
'It was not your fault, you didn't know me… you still do not know me well enough" she answered sadly. With one-step, Leonardo walked up to their bed and sat next to her. He took her hand in his and looked at her.
'That is not the point, I should have got to known you for myself before… before jumping to conclusions about the kind of person you are" Aurora sat frozen, her heart beaming as she could not believe what she was hearing.
His eyes glittered as he looked at her lovingly and she too looked at him as though he was the only person in the world.
'Avena, I know that our marriage is not what either of us had wanted at first but I want to make you a promise. I promise that I will give this marriage my best at all times and I promise to be truthful to you and to live my life learning to love you" Leonardo's words melted her heart as he promised her.
'I don't know what to say" she answered, speechless.
'I just want you to promise that you will be truthful and that you will help build our marriage"
'I promise" Aurora heard herself say, her heart dropping to her stomach as she realized what she had just promised Leonardo..
But you're lying about your identity. Her mind taunted her and the guilt ate her up as she looked into the eyes of her husband. The satisfying smile on his face pleased her heart as she thought of her life with Leonardo even when the guilt was slowly eating her away.
Finally, she was beginning to see the bright side of her marriage and slowly pushed the thought of her lies away. This morning, she would enjoy the company of the man who was now her husband.
**
Their drive home was filled with silence, other than their stolen glances at one another and few smiles as they brightened each other's day. Leonardo parked the car into the garage and killed the engine and then… there was silence.
The feeling of butterflies flying around inside of Aurora's stomach was enough to make her nervous. Going inside the house would mean that her in-laws would see her.
Would they know that I had just slept with my husband? The thought passed through Aurora's mind and her cheeks reddened with embarrassment.
'Are you nervous?" Aurora jumped up in her chair, turning her attention to Leonardo, who was smiling at her effortlessly. She had never seen such a handsome man who was smart, kind and caring.
'N- No, why would you think that I am nervous?" She asked him nervously, looking away from his eyes that so that he could not see the lies written on her face.
Without warning, Leonardo reached for her face, placed his hand beneath her chin and turned her face towards him. Now she was looking into his eyes, his eyes innocent as they burned into hers and they held so much reassurance that he would care for her.
How am I this lucky to have you in my life, Leonardo? Aurora thought to herself as she sat in her seat.
'Well you are blushing and that tells me that you are nervous" he told her, smiling at her. She felt a tingle in her chin just where Leonardo had placed his hand.
'I just feel that your parents would know that we, that we—" she stopped herself, moving her face away from.
Leonardo had almost wanted to burst into laughter, his new wife's nervous behavior was something he found amusing. Her soul so innocent that she was afraid that someone would have known that they had made love the previous night.
Looking it her eyes and a sudden urge to kiss his wife, washed over him. Never had he wanted a woman like he wanted Aurora.
'Don't you worry about anything, after all, I am here" he told her. He assured his wife and even without knowing what the future would hold for them, he knew that he would always be there to protect her.
Seeing her smile, an indication that even though they were strangers to one another, she trusted his words.
'Come on now, let us go inside" Leonardo told Aurora, exited the car and ushered her inside the mansion.
'Where have the both of you been?" Signora Carina walked towards both Leonardo and Aurora with her hands open wide and worry over the poor woman's face. She stopped in front of both of them and wrapped her hands around Aurora and began inspecting her for any signs of injuries.
'Mother we are okay, as you can see—"
'Don't you dare say anything? You took my daughter in-law out the entire night and your phone was switched off and you did not even make an effort to call us back" to Leonardo's shock, his mother turned her attention to him and scolded him out.
Lost for words, he stared at his mother's face, reddened with anger and not really knowing what to do.
'Mother, it is not his fault" Aurora tried explaining but nothing she said could soften her mother in-law.
'No Avena, you cannot just defend your husband every time he does things wrong. We were worried about you" Signora Carina told Aurora, as the older woman's eyes was filled with tears as she looked at her daughter in-law.
Aurora's heart broke into two seeing Signora Carina worried about her well-being, so much that it had almost reminded her of her late mother. Her mother had always worried about her when she played outside and now, years after her mother's death, Aurora had a new mother. That new mother was none other than her mother in-law, signora Carina.
