Chapter 62- HERE
Aurora stood in the middle of a living room with the letter in her hand, frozen and unable to move. Never before has she had this feeling before as she gripped the letter in hand, there was no name of whom it was from or who it was addressed but inwardly, she knew that it was meant for her. The person that had sent the letter had meant harm in any every way or form.
It felt as though it was scene from a scary movie but she had to gather her composure as her husband was on his way home and the last things she wanted was for him to see the letter that would ruin their lives.
Desperately Aurora wanted nothing other than to throw it away or burn it for the fear that her husband might see it, but she knew that it was best that she opened and read its contents. She looked at the clock and it was almost time to Leonardo to come home and yet she could not move past the letter in front of her.
Aurora opened the envelope to reveal the contents of the letter and as she read through what it said, her heart sank because it was exactly what she thought it was.
Dear Aurora
It's me again, you thought that you could escape me by moving away but I am everywhere you look and in every city you want to hide in. Are you willing to come to terms with my demand or would you rather your husband find out who you truly are?
I'm sure that you do not want your husband to know your true identity is, Aurora, oh I meant Avena.
No need to worry I will reveal myself when the time comes be safe and tell your husband that I said hi
Aurora read the letter until the very end. Still in a state of shock. Her mind spun a thousand time as she was caught in the prison of her own head, only to be awakened by the sound of Leonardo's car parking into the driveway. She quickly looked to the floor and picked up the paper and hid within the inner parts of their couch.
She quickly tidied herself, making sure that her hair was in the right place, she fixed her dress and smiled that way Leonardo would not pick up that there was something wrong with her
The front door shot open and there Leonardo was, smiling down at her with his briefcase in his hands.
Overwork it seemed but with a smile on his face, he was just as happy to see her and she was to see him. It had only been a few hours since he left for work in the early hours in the morning and yet it felt as though she had not seen him in months and today she did miss her husband.
Unable to control her emotions Aurora rushed towards him and wrapped her hands around him and holding him tight, almost crying.
Leonardo wrapped his arms around her tightly as she did him. The fear of what Rhea had said to him made Leonardo realize how much he feared losing his wife. He feared that the truth coming out might just make her walk away from him and that is something that he truly did not want to happen.
He had come a long way to loving his wife and he would not let slip away from his hands no matter what, even if it meant that he would have to stop Rhea from ever getting closer to them.
Tears fell from her eyes as she wrapped her hands around her husband's neck, standing on her tippy toes as she tried to get closer to him. This was love, this was it, this was all she wanted, a house a loving husband, a baby on the way and she would do whatever it takes to find out who it was that was trying to blackmail her.
She finally let go of Leonardo and looked into his eyes, he worried as he saw tears in her eyes. He began looking at her and making sure that everything was ok.
'What happened, are you ok, is there something wrong with the baby?" He panicked as Aurora smiled at him as he asked her.
'No, no, nothing is wrong. We are both ok, me and the baby. I just I missed you so much" Aurora told her husband. Letting out a sigh of relief, Leonardo pulled his wife closer to him, placed a beautiful kiss on her forehead.
'Well I am glad to hear that, you seriously had me worried"
'How was work? I'm sorry I forgot to ask, I was all in my emotions. I think it must be the hormones" She explained.
'No need to explain, I instinctively knew it was the hormones. I mean peanut butter and pickles that doesn't sound like a good combination" He teased her. Aurora playfully slapped him on the shoulder for making fun of her.
'I know that it does not sound like a good combination but trust me your baby loves the two" Aurora laughed in between explaining herself.
'Oh please! These days it seems like all you ever do is blame my child for your crazy combinations what else are you going to blame her for?"
'Or him" Aurora corrected him and Leonardo rolled his eyes at her, smiling gas he realized that once more they would be at war over their child's gender.
'I'm telling you, it's a girl I can feel it in my gut. I am meant to be a girl dad"
'If you say it's a girl then I have no choice but to agree with you, because I would never win this argument" Aurora told her husband, as she moved closer to him.
'And who said that we were arguing?" Leonardo leaned in trying to sneak in for another kiss. Aurora quickly pulled away as she picked up on what Leonardo was about to do. Placing both hands on her hips seemingly and playfully embarrassed at Leonard's cheap games.
'Mr. Leonardo Romano, I cannot believe that you had just come from work, haven't changed your clothes and hungry and yet you want to slip in for a kiss"
'Well you are right Mrs. Avena Romano, I have just come from work, I have not change my clothes and I'm very hungry" Leonardo told his wife seductively, licking his lips as he told her.
'Well it's a good thing that I have your food prepared, let me go get it over with" Aurora turned around and just as she was about to leave Leonardo pulled her back towards himself and spun her around, that way she was now facing him and looking into her eyes lustfully.
'You are right, I am hungry but who says I'm hungry for food"
'Oh no, not this again 'Aurora said, slapping Leonardo's hands away from herself and ran towards their bedroom. Leonardo watch as his wife ran towards the room and he smiled at himself.
'Is this supposed to be foreplay, because if it is, I must say I like it, you can run my dear wife but I assure you that I will find you" Leonardo slowly walked towards his room, removing pieces of clothing as he walked towards their bedroom, knowing just what will happen as soon as he finds her.
Smiling at himself, Leonardo knew just what he was in for, a blissful nights of lovemaking was all that he wanted. He could not help but imagine how he would make beautiful love to his wife and how she would come alive to his touch.
**
Once again they had forgotten to eat lunch, lying in bed looking at the ceiling and imagining the blissful love making that they had.
"Did you like it?" Leonardo asked her and once again like a shy virgin Aurora was too shy to answer. But her mind vividly remembered Leonardo thrusting himself in her, all raw into her core and hungry for her as she was for him.
'Why do you always ask me such questions when you know that my smile is telling you all that you need to know?"
'Well that makes sense" he answered smiling at himself.
'Isn't life just weird don't you think?" Aurora asked him, leaving the question to linger in the air. Leonardo paused, turning his head towards his wife and looking at her with a questionable look.
'And why would you say that if I may ask?"
'I don't know, it's just weird that of all the places she could have moved to she moved in here and right opposite us" Aurora continued, looking at the ceiling and not once looking at her husband. Leonardo listen to his wife talking about things that he could not quite make out until he looked at her.
'What?" Aurora asked him, confused as to why he was looking at her in the way that he was.
'I don't understand what you're trying to say or who it is you speaking about, who moved in opposite us?" Leonardo asked, trying to get as much clarity as possible.
'Didn't you hear what I was saying earlier on? Rhea is the one that moved in opposite us" Aurora informed her husband, the revelation leaving him shocked.
Leonardo sat up on his bed as a million thoughts ran through his mind, not believing a word that his wife had said to him until he looked at her dead in the eyes and knew that she was just as serious as he was.
Leonardo swallowed the lump in his throat, he had known that Rhea was up to something all along but he could not pinpoint what she was on about. Now that his wife had told him of this news, Leonardo had realized what her mastermind plan was.
'And how did you come to know of this?" Leonardo asked her calmly.
'Well I was walking to the mailbox to get our mail and just like that I saw movers moving in some belonging. I went over there to greet our new neighbor's and low and behold, it was Rhea"
'Did she say anything else?" Leonardo desperately wanting to know what else Rhea was up to.
'Nothing much, other than she was excited to have us as neighbor's and when she found out that she was living opposite us and she was so excited pretty much that's all. Is there something wrong? Have I said something Aurora asked?" Aurora asked.
'No nothing, you have said nothing wrong. It's just that I find it strange that of all the places that she could have moved in she chose to move in opposite us isn't that strange?" Leonardo asked. Not a bit surprised that Rhea would pull such a stunt.
'I know right, that's exactly what I thought. Just when we thought we got rid of her and she shows up again, some people are just too clingy. You know it almost makes it seem as though she intentionally wants to live close to us" Aurora joked but Leonardo tensed.
'Why are you so quiet?" Aurora asked her husband, tapping him on the shoulder playfully.
'No, it's nothing. I am just tired with work and all" Leonardo lied. On the outside, he seemed calm whilst inwardly he was worried. Rhea living this close to them presented another obstacle for him.
Not many people knew of his earlier life, when had been a bad boy, a Menace and he would not allow Rhea tell the world who he truly was. The last thing he wanted was for his wife to find out who he truly was.
