Chapter 75- WATERWORKS

'Why did you do that? Aren't you happy?" He asked her as Leonardo was confused about her actions.

'Are you kidding me? We are about to get married in two days' time and you are here renting out the entire restaurant, do you know how much that will cost? We could have literally stayed at home, eaten our own food instead of coming here and spending a fortune on food that will be enough to feel entire village" She continued yelling at him and all Leonardo could do was watch lovingly as such a small figured woman could be as feisty as she was. Without any warning, Leonardo covered her mouth with his with his mouth, hoping that it was enough to keep her quiet for now.

Placing his hands around her hips and kissing her passionately and just as quick as he had kissed her, Leonardo had ended the kiss, looking into his wife's eyes as she stood in front of him silently.

'I didn't think that this would do the work but it seems like it did" Leonardo joked, only for her to lightly slap him against his arm.

'So you like it when I'm quiet?"

'Honestly, I don't mind you talking but for tonight, I think it is best that you keep quiet because you are going to like the surprise that I have in store for you" He promised her as his wife raised her eyebrow at him.

'Don't worry, it is not going to break our bank and we have plenty more money where that came from" Leonardo confessed, taking her hand in his hand as they walked into the restaurant.

The lights in the restaurant were low and as they walked, Aurora could see that the VIP section of the restaurant was neatly prepared. As they walked closer, they walked past the VIP section and into a closed-off area. Aurora did not know where it was that her husband was taking her but as she stole a glance at her husband, she was at peace because she trusted him.

Standing in the corner of the room was a figure, and she could not quite make out until the lights came on, her heart sank to the pit of her stomach. Aurora covered her mouth trying to hold in her shock.

Aurora was lost for words as she could not begin to describe how she was feeling, because the person in the shadows was none other than signora Meta.

The older woman had a smile on her face, just as bright as the one on Aurora's own face. Without saying a word, she held her hands out waiting for Aurora to come in for a hug and without hesitating, Aurora did just that. She ran toward the older woman and hugged her tighter than she had ever had anyone in a long time.

Aurora missed the woman that had raised her as though she were her very own daughter from the time that they worked at the Russo household. Signora Meta was met with a warm embrace as well, showing just how much they missed one another.

Both women embraced one another until their eyes welled up in tears, until it ran down their faces. In the moment, Aurora remembered her husband, she let go of signora Meta and looked at her husband and she tearfully smiled at him.

'But how did you do this?" She asked him. Clasping his hands together, Leonardo smiled, thrilled that he had made his wife smile again.

'My dear, your husband over here called me a few days ago and he purchased a ticket. Now I'm here, just to see you" Still in disbelief, Aurora choked up with tears.

'I think I will leave you two ladies alone, I have to speak to the waiter about something. I'll be back in a moment" Leonardo informed both women, he then turned on his heel and walked out of the private room.

'Your mother will be so proud of you" Signora Meta told Aurora. The older woman's comforting words sent a million emotions running through her mind as she thought of her mother. Inwardly, Aurora knew that her mother would have been happy to see her now, as a wife, soon to be mother and doctor.

'Sure she would" Aurora responded, wiping a tear from her eye but just as she did that, the realization was brought forward. She was forced to come to terms with reality and all that was going on around her.

'Please tell me, are the Russo's back yet?" Aurora asked, panicking as she waited for an answer. Without saying more, Signora Meta realized that something was wrong.
Signora Meta quickly held onto Aurora by her hand, walked her towards the chair and sat her down. Signora Meta pulled out a chair besides Aurora, she reached for the side of Aurora's face, sensing that something was wrong with her little girl.

'Please tell me my dear, what happened and who wants to hurt you?" Aurora could sense the panic in her voice as signora Meta was ready to defend her little girl against anyone willing to hurt her. Signora Meta had vividly remembered the promise she had made to Aurora's mother all those years ago, she promised that she would protect Aurora at any cost. She had made that promise and she would make sure to keep that promise no matter what, even if it meant that she would have to hurt someone or put her life on the line.

'Someone is trying to hurt me, someone is trying to ruin my marriage. I only have two days to stop them, otherwise they will tell my husband everything that they know about me" Aurora blurted out, not caring that someone could potentially walk in and overhear their conversation. Even with the risks involved, Aurora did not care as she panicked thinking of what would happen if Leonardo found out about her true identity on their wedding day.

The shock on signora Meta's face was evident, the older woman knew that the truth would eventually come out sooner later but she would make sure that no one would hurt Aurora.

'Who is this person, Tell me and I will deal with that person" She asked Aurora. The mother in her, ready to defend Aurora against anyone willing to hurt her or ruin her happiness. For far too long, she watched as people walked over her little girl and take away her dreams. The Russo's had snatched Aurora's faith and aspirations away from her. She would no longer allow them to break down her little girl who had so much dreams.

Wiping her tears away from her eyes, Aurora looked at the older woman, feeling that there was once more hope for her.

'It is Ricardo" Aurora blurted out without any hesitation, ready to who it was that was out to blackmail her and ruin her life.

'Who is this person?"

'He is my husband's best friend, at first I thought he knew nothing but it turns out that he had met Avena and as soon as he saw me, he knew that I was not who posed to be. Now he wants me to run away with him" She confessed. Signora Meta's eyes grew wide in disbelief at what Aurora was telling her.

'He wants you to run away with him, why would he want that?"

'I honestly don't know, all he says is that he's obsessed with me. He also said that he hates my husband for something which he did a long time ago, that's just weird because whenever he's around Leonardo, Ricardo he praises him"

The older woman looked at the surrounding area and then back at Aurora, smiling at her.

'No need to worry, I will find out what he wants and you will have your wedding without any disruptions" She promised Aurora who simply stared at the older woman in shock.

Looking at Signora Meta, Aurora could feel that the older woman was willing to protect her no matter what. Signora Meta had always been the motherly figure that Aura had always needed all her life.
To their surprise, Leonardo walked in and out behind him were waiters with trays of food.

'We are going to eat like kings and queens!" Leonardo informed them as he clasped his hands together and took a seat besides both women. Both Aurora and Signora Meta smiled at Leonardo, anything but to make him suspicious that they were both worried about something as the wedding day loomed closer.

'I can see than this reunion was destined to happen sooner than later" Leonardo commented. Both Signora Meta and Aurora smiled, hiding their fear deep within themselves. There was no need for Leonardo to know what was going on.

'I'm surprised that there isn't a river already"

'Why would you say that?" Aurora asked her husband as she wiped her tears away.

'Well both your eyes are teary, so I can clearly see that there was a lot of water works" He teased them, both women laughed.

'Yes we surely did miss our time together" Signora Meta chimed in.

'Come on. Let us eat. We have a long two days ahead of us" Leonardo told them and soon they were together, eating their food as though the storm in their lives were not looming in.
