The Five Lords And One King

“So you mean Captain Israel, is the nicest of the four?” Daniel asked with disbelief as he took another spoon of the hot chicken soup placed in his front.

“Yes and no. Lord Israel is the nice one, while Lord Liam is polite and honest. Also, they are not four but six,” Frank explained, fanning himself with a notebook.

“Wait, I thought there were only four of them, who are the remaining two?” Daniel questioned with arched brows.

“Okay, let me clear your doubt, we have five Lords and one king,” Frank replied politely.

“Then I need to read more. I only know of Lord Liam, Henry, and Israel. At first, I didn't know that Captain Israel was a Lord,” Daniel explained and blamed himself for not taking into account the faces of the men he saw at the ball.

“Well, there's Lord Liam, Henry, Israel, Xender, and Aaron. But Lord Aaron is away on a business trip, and Lord Xender doesn't like coming to the palace except when something is interesting.” Frank continued his explanation, and Daniel nodded in understanding. “By the way, how do you know Lord Liam? I doubt you've seen him before,” he asked with furrowed brows.

“Oh, I saw him at the royal ball,” Daniel replied absentmindedly, but on seeing the look of shock on Frank's face, he quickly corrected himself. “I mean I saw him today, remember when I bumped into him?” He asked with a nervous smile, but Frank looked suspicious.

“Humm, yes,” Frank hummed softly, still suspecting Daniel. “By the way, why did you come to become a guard? I don't mean to flirt with you, but you're really cute, and you can easily get a job as a royal messenger.” He said, and Daniel's face twisted.

'Yeah, my father was a royal messenger, but was never satisfied,’ Daniel thought and took a deep breath.

“I guess I might later decide to become a messenger,” Daniel lied, he didn't intend to lie, but how was he supposed to tell his newly found friend that he planned to blackmail the king, then take his brother and run to a faraway land? Frank would think he's a psycho.

“I didn't quite hear the name of your birth country when you said it earlier,” Frank said with a smile on his face, and Daniel knew he was indirectly asking him the name of his country because he had never mentioned the name of his birth country.

“I grew up with my grandmother in Queensbury Village,” Daniel didn't want to say his origin, but he knew Frank might begin to suspect him, so to earn his trust, he decided to tell him a little about himself. “I lost my mother years ago, and since then I've been living with my grandmother, after her death, I decided to come to a bigger kingdom and start my life afresh.”

“Oh my goodness, that's so sad to hear. You are a strong man to put it all behind you and hope for a fresh start. Your mother's spirit must be so proud of you,” Frank complimented Daniel, and the latter smiled one-sidedly.

'If only you know.' Daniel thought.

“Anyways, earlier today, you said you like Lord Henry,” Daniel began as politely as he could, and Frank covered his face in embarrassment.

“I know I shouldn't be saying this, I might even get killed if the king finds out, but I will tell you because I trust you – I am gay,” Frank came out clean, and Daniel was dumbfounded. He couldn't believe how Frank would be so courageous to tell a total stranger his secret.

“How can you tell me something like that? Aren't you scared of it getting leaked?” Daniel asked Frank, with a confused look on his face. “You should be careful, don't trust just anyone. Because a person looks nice doesn't mean a person is nice,” he was genuinely concerned as he advised Frank.

“Humm, you're right. But I can trust you right?” Frank asked with raised eyebrows, and Daniel shrugged his shoulders, not wanting to force anyone to tell him secrets.

“That's for you to decide, but I will advise you to keep your secrets to yourself, no one can be trusted, and everyone has something secretly eating them up!” Daniel advised.

“I am guessing you also have something eating you up. I am not going to force you to talk to me about anything. But since I just told you that I am gay, I think it will only be right if you tell me one of your deepest secrets. That way we'll both know each other's secret,” Frank proposed, and Daniel shook his head at the man's cunning wisdom.

“I doubt it will still be a secret if I told you,’’ Daniel murmured, a cunning smirk on his face.

“Come on, I am your friend, you should trust me,” Frank cried out with a childish voice.

Daniel couldn't contain his amusement, and laughter erupted out of his throat as he looked at Frank. “Fine, I am a hybrid, I have a werewolf!” Daniel confessed with a playful voice, he knew that Frank wouldn't believe him, so he purposefully told him. And just as he guessed, Frank looked at him, completely dazzled for a while before he burst into laughter.

“It's fine if you don't want to tell me anything. Since this is your first time in this kingdom, I don't mind you sharing a room with me. We can both split the bills, and don't worry, about me being gay, because I am not interested in you…. I mean you're handsome, but I just don't romantically like you,” Frank blabbered, afraid of getting Daniel angry. He didn't want to sound rude or desperate for company.

This time around it was Daniel's turn to laugh at Frank, and he did it with joy, nearly hitting the bowl of soup in front of him, “Oh my lolo, you are so funny. I also don't feel that way about you, and I definitely wouldn't allow you to fuck my ashole,” he joked and the both of them burst into laughter.

“Don't worry when we get to the palace tomorrow, I will show you one of the king's allies, Lord Astro, and you'll decide if you want a man to fuck your cunt,” Frank playfully replied with a gentle smile, and Daniel shrugged his shoulders. He didn't tell Frank he was gay, because he didn't trust him that much yet.

But on the thought of going to the palace the next day, Daniel's wolf squealed in happiness. It was looking forward to seeing Lazarus, while Daniel felt horrified.
