64.
Rogues were indeed at the borders but from their approach, these weren't normal wild ones they were of the same caliber that attacked the royal convoy those months ago.
The men quickly got their mates to safety, Emma fought tooth and nail to help them even with Michael's power at its strongest she still feared for his life.
"I can help. Please don't treat me as a fragile mate" she begged him. They were in the hallway outside of the safe room of the lower levels in the northern wing. He gripped her arms and kissed her angrily but with a passion.
"I've never seen you as fragile Emma. You're one of the strongest she-wolves I've ever known and I'm proud to call you my mate. I'm doing this to keep you safe. Malcolm wants your blood in his hands and I won't let that happen. No one is taking you away from me. No one." He said to her cupping her face. His eyes glowed with the fury that was within him.
"This kingdom need their future queen to be safe. They can't lose you. Landon and Arabella can't lose you not even your family. We love you and we would die protecting you. Now please stay here with Caleb and your brothers. I love you, Emma," he continued holding her close to him.
Zane also comforted Alia in their own way as Emma listened to her mate's racing heartbeat.
"I love you too Michael," she said to him while asking the goddess to keep her family and warriors safe.
"Your highness" Mason called out to Michael. Caleb and Emma were placed in a secluded room away from the others a room only a few knew about.
"Please come back to me" she whispered to him. "I can never leave my princess," Michael said placing a quick kiss on her lips and walked away.
"Mase" she called out.
"We will come back Emmie," Mason said to his best friend, the scared look that took over her face weaken him for a moment then he sent her a comforting smile. It was a promise he made to himself also to come back to his mate and his best friend.
"Come now, beauty," Jonah said to his sister pulling her in the room where she sat with Caleb.
Caleb wrapped his arms around his dear cousin trying to ease her worries. He felt his father near the borders, his aura was stronger and he wasn't alone he felt his mate's aura also but they weren't coming closer. Caleb tried to figure out as to why before he heard the screams of Emma and the twins.
They were covering their ears trying to block out whatever was causing them pain.
"The warriors," Emma cried.
"What is happening?" He asked of them.
"Something caught them by surprise they've been hurt......" Jonah said with glazed eyes. "....but not bad, their link to us was open," Noah continued rubbing their temples.
Emma sat up on the floor with her eyes closed, Noah and Jonah breathed a sense of relief and smiled at their sister.
"What did she do?" Caleb asked.
"She took away the pain of her warriors," Noah said sitting in front of her. "They are healing now," she said opening her eyes. They shone as she spoke, Emma held her brother's hand for a moment before standing.
"Well... Our little beauty is now a damn powerful wolf" Jonah said.

Landon and Michael along with Dimitri led a pack of 80 wolves to the border where the rogues were spotted. The wolves that were on patrol were attacked by an unspeakable force, the king and prince felt their pain due to the warriors leaving their link open to warn the hold of their intruders.
"Is everyone alright?" Dimitri asked as they got to the men. Some were on the ground checking their wounds as others kept their eyes on the rogues before them.
The rogues stood in defense waiting on orders, a few humans which were sensed as hunters stood among them with weapons of silver in their hands and backs.
'Mason Isah and Avery surround the castle now,' Landon ordered as they saw Malcolm walking towards them.
'Yes, sir' was their response.
"Hello, nephew. My apologies for my men's lack of respect not bowing to you royals. I see you also recruited your little pet, Dimitri." Malcolm said with disdain in his voice. He was no longer the frail man Michael saw those months ago. He walked with the strength of a young wolf, his eyes were dark and he had the sense of danger around him.
"I've come for my son and well my niece. All three of us need to have a little chat" Malcolm said with a smirk.
"You know we won't allow that uncle," Landon said trying to rein in his wolf.
"Is that so? I haven't stayed this long to attack without a purpose. That throne is mine, your father tricked our parents into revoking it from me. Look where that led to. The bloodsuckers are roaming free while humans are mating with wolves. It's unheard of, the wolf kingdom are the most dominant ones we should rule. With us in power, we can walk freely without hiding our true forms. You allow this but what do you expect from the son of a weak king." Malcolm ranted.
Michael growled which brought Malcolm's attention to him. "Ah, the prince. If you're here then there's one place your precious mate would be," he said before he sent Michael flying towards the trees.
"Attack. Make sure they bring the princess and my son to me" Malcolm shouted, "you forgot who I am nephew" he said over his shoulder while walking away.
The attack on Michael didn't cause him any damage whatsoever it only made him angrier.
"Stay away from my mate" he shouted surrounding the territory with a wall of fire.
'Is Emma and Caleb safe?' Michael asked Jonah watching closely as the rogues tried to get through the wall.
The hunters blindly began to shoot through the wall of fire. Landon deflected what bullets he can from his men but a few found their mark in few wolves. The silver made them weak, "Take the wounded back" Dimitri shouted.
"Jonah isn't answering my calls" Michael growled attacking the wolves who were brave enough to jump through the wall.
"Try Emma," Landon shouted at him before shifting to attack a rogue.
'Sweetheart, can you hear me?' Michael asked his mate.
'Michael......' She responded before their link was cut.
"What the hell is going on?" He shouted sending a wave of fire to their attackers.
Screams of pain were heard, wolf and human alike were rolling on the ground trying to put out the fire over their bodies. Most of their bodies were badly burnt, Michael walked over to a wolf who just shifted back to his form. "You all would die" he rasped.
"Really?!" Michael said smirking at him. The man gasped as he saw the prince's eyes.
"Malcolm is strong," he said weakly, "he won't stop"
"Neither will we," Michael said turning away from the damage he had done. The smell of burning flesh filled the air, the warriors stared in shock at what their prince have done. It was a ghastly sight, painful moans were heard from the victims.
'Your majesty. We under attack from the western border' Mason warned the king and prince.
Before Michael can answer the scent of more rogues and vampires caught his attention.
Coming through the trees, into the meadows feral rogues and vicious vampires steadily approached them with only one order - kill them all.
"He really planned shit out didn't he" Dimitri spat preparing to defend his kingdom.
Michael called out once again to his mate but was blocked he used his frustration of not reaching her to viciously attack their intruders.
*"Well hello, princess or should I say, runt."*
