Chapter 21: You'll never change.

"What?"

Dylan sighed, shifting awkwardly on the white hospital chair. "I'm not meant to tell you this now, you're not in the proper state of mind_"

"It's okay Dylan, I just wanna know what happened"

"You're sure it's not gonna hurt you? It's a lot to take in"

"It can't be that bad. Besides, I already had a lot to take in before It happened."

"She hit you in the head with a baseball bat, poured gasoline on the walls of the building and set it on fire"

I guess he was right when he said it was a lot to take in.

The truth is, I couldn't feel anything.

I was meant to mad, angry or at least, break down in tears but I ended up feeling nothing.

It was either what she injected in my body or the painkillers I had in my system but either ways, it worked in my favour. I didn't know how I would feel knowing the hopes and dreams I had turned to a total nightmare.

It was awkward to think I spent so much on that building, financially and emotionally. I had to endure domestic abuse because I couldn't turn back and leave all the memories I had in there.

She tried to kill me regardless of it.

I didn't know if I was meant to be mad at her for trying to kill me or blame it on her critical mental disorder that, according to her, got worse every day.

Either ways, I could've died and everything would've been useless including my life.

"Where is she?"

"Her body wasn't found in the house and there's no evidence to prove she left after she started the fire"

"So she just disappeared?"

"I don't know yet but the police are still searching" He said "Don't worry, she'll be arrested the moment_"

"She's not okay" I cut him off "She has a critical mental disorder."

"She's crazy?"

"Not crazy, just not okay. She sees abs hears things and it gets worse every day"

"Hallucinations? Schizophrenia?"

"Yeah"

"Why were you quiet about it? We could've found help for her. You could've died Diana, died and she would've gotten away with it the same way she just got away with everything she's done to you."

"I had no idea she wasn't okay till she told me last night. I was meant to leave the following morning but_"

"It's okay" He sighed, running his fingers through his hair "It's fine"

"Am I gonna be okay?"

"Well, you have no fractures so your brain is still in good condition but you have a huge purple bruise on your forehead and your face is kinda swollen now. You'll be out of here in three days"

"I hate this place"

"Well, you don't have a choice. You've been here for at least five days, you know?"

"Five? Was it that bad?"

"Worse. You had blood covering your entire face. If it wasn't for your clothes, I would've thought you were someone else"

"How did you make it to my house that quick? Don't tell me you came to apologize"

"Don't flatter yourself, I was driving past your house when I saw the crowd."

"I'm not gonna die till I live to annoy the shit out of you"

"You have a problem, you know that?"

"Whatever, I just wanna get out of here"

"Yeah, and move straight to my house and no, it's not a question"

.~*~.~*~.~*~.

I left the hospital after a week. Turns out Dylan lied about the three days, he just said it to make me feel better. He didn't show up till the last three days were cause well, he knew what was going to happen.

Three things I learned about the hospital were,

1. The food totally sucks

2. The nurses are as strict as hell.

3. The doctor lies.

Moving on, I felt a lot better than before. The pain was almost gone but I got slight headaches at times. The skin was slowly gaining it's color back and the swelling had reduced.

The bandage round my head was removed and replaced with a smaller one that covered my forehead only.

At least, I didn't look as bad as I did before but it was definitely gonna be awkward to walk into school with your forehead all bandaged up.

"

This isn't the way to your house." I said when he took a sharp turn "Are you planning on kidnapping me?"

"You wish"

"Why would I want to get kidnapped by you? You'd starve me to death"

"First, if you ever get kidnapped which is totally impossible, you'd want your kidnapper to be just as hot as I am"

There was go again.

"Once again, you'll starve me to death"

"That's because you're always hungry"

"Well, it's not my fault I've got such an appetite and besides, it's good to eat cause it provides nutrients and shit like that"

"Yeah, when you eat healthy food. All you eat is junk food."

"You're not any better sweetie"

"Whatever, we're going to the mall to get you clothes and other girly stuff"

"What girly stuff"

"You know, tampons, sanitary pa_"

"Stop" I cut him off "Just stop it, okay?"

"What? It's not like you don't use them"

"You know, I always thought you guys get irritated by tampons"

"I did" He said "But then my lovely mom locked me in a room filled with tampons and sanitary pads for a whole week, just so I'll get over it."

"And you stayed in there for a week?"

"It's not like I had an option. When I tried to escape, she brought a lot more with fake blood on them. It was a week of nausea, irritation and annoyance"

"I'm not sorry you had to go through that"

"It at least made me a better person."

He pulled up in the mall after minutes of bickering at each other.

"Now" He said, when we were about to step into the building "For the most important thing"

"It's gonna be stupid"

"They're a lot of hot girls in there. Whatever you do, do not, I repeat, do not do anything stupid"

I rolled my eyes and turned to leave.

I just knew it was gonna be stupid.

He caught up to me in seconds and we were both walking our way through the mall.

I guess he wasn't wrong when he said there were a lot of hot girls in there. Most of the population of the mall were teenage girls.

Unlike me, they looked so pretty or at least girly with manicured nails, long hair, make up and clothes that showed off their shape or long legs.

I didn't have manicured nails, I didn't have long beauficul hair, i didn't have make up on or clothes that showed off my shape or short legs.

I was just a girl in a blue dress and a bandage on her forehead.

Period.

A group of girls I knew were from our school passed by us and had their eyes on me instead, laughing a bit before sending Dylan an 'Hi'

"You know you're lucky you have a Greek god following you" he said as we entered the first shop.

The lady in charge of the shop came walking towards us the moment we walked in. She pushed her make up to the further end of the table and straightened her clothes, giving us, I mean Dylan, her brightest smile.

It could've been okay if she had a moderate amount of make up on buy she had excessive on her face and they all happened to be brought colors.

"I'm Helen" She said, still not acknowledging the fact I was also in there "What would you like to have?"

"Eyes here lady" I said "I'm the one buying, pay attention to me"

"Oh" She said with disappointment flashing across her face.

What? It's a shop for ladies wear, did she really expect Dylan to buy clothes?

"Then let's get to business immediately"

It's about time.

We went through a lot of clothes ranging from the most classy dresses to the most casual wears.

At the end, I'd only taken oversized tops, sneakers, jeans, hoodies and oversized sweaters.

That spells out Diana.

"Try this on" Dylan said, throwing a light weightless clothing at me "Something girly"

"No, I hate it already"

"You've not tried it on. You need a break from jeans and whatever is in there."

"Yeah, you've not chosen anything besides jeans and sweaters" Helen said, folding her arms in what looked like annoyance?

Is it something I did?

"Hoodies and tops" I corrected "You forgot for add hoodies and tops"

"Just try it on and you can take it off if you hate it"

"I'm gonna regret this" I whispered, starring at the piece of clothing in my hands "I'll do it for empress Makeup" I said, referring to Helen.

I left before she could give me glares that could send me six feet under. Dylan tried to suppress his laugh but I heard him terribly fail.

I pulled off the blue floral dress and hung it on the weird maniquin standing beside me.

If I had the time, I could've spent minutes in there, just to watch the maniquin be weird.

I accessed the black clothing in my hands. It was pretty light but after a few seconds of checking if out, I figured out it was a short overevealing dress.

I just knew I was going to regret it.

First, it was going to expose the bruises I still had on my body and I wasn't going to let Helen see that by any chance and second, it didn't just have the burst, back and legs open but was also very transparent so I was going to have to disappoint Dylan on it.

I placed the dress on the mannequin and pulled the blue dress back on.

It was worth the try.

"You don't like it?" Dylan asked "You didn't let us judge"

I placed the dress on one of the available chairs and looked up to reply Dylan when I saw something quite interesting.

His bottom lip had red glossy thick liquid on it which matched the lip gloss Helen had on.

I glanced at Helen to see her by her table applying more lip gloss on.

He could've at least gotten her number and meet up with her somewhere else. The literally just met minutes ago, he didn't know if she had a disease or something.

Not to sound so judgy but I was only being honest.

Besides, didn't he think it was kind of wrong to just kiss random girls?

I felt a bit annoyed about the whole thing. Not that it was my business at all but the slight feeling of anger washed over me before I knew it.

I felt irritated.

"I don't wanna buy clothes here anymore"

Helen abruptly dropped her lip gloss and turned to face me. She looked just as surprised as Dylan was. She gave me a confused look before saying "Why?"

"I don't like it here"

"I'm not leaving here till we check these out"

"Then I will"

Those were the last words I said before turning to leave.
