Chapter Fourteen
Chapter Fourteen
“Oh, it’s you!” I breathe in relief and he grins from ear to ear. He’s in a casual outfit of T-shirt and baggy pants, and he has his usual black sneakers on. His black hair slightly falls across his face and neck. He is a good looking young man, but he always seems to be the incurable romantic - the painfully love-stricken.
I might likely say he’s just a confused little boy. Of course, he’s nice, fun to be with, but he seems not to know what he wants. In fact, everything on skirt and bra subtly enticed him.
There was a time he was even hitting on Mia and me at the same time. Crazy right? What was even crazier was that he believed that love was never static, it was dynamic, and preferences or choices could change overtime just as the world changes.
Nah! I don’t think that’s only crazy, it’s sick to think that way! That means you never loved the person anyway!
If I loved someone, regardless of how time changes, regardless of my days, I’d still choose that person and keep choosing him forever! I am one dreamy girl that fantasises growing really old, toothless, breastless, assless and maybe, hairless with the man I love. I really want to grow that old and I want someone to cuss with in my old age, chasing him with flattened out ass that he must’ve flattened, and forcing him to suck my old, dried up breasts.
Yeah, let’s have quickies at eighty!
I’m that… ugh! Hey! Don’t gross out on me! That’s just how I feel right!?
“Lena, where have you been?” His voice awakens me from my wild thoughts.
But seriously… I’ve always had wild thoughts, but I’ve never had the nerve to execute all my fantasies.
“Oh Jake! I was out for a while.” I say, trying hard not to give anything away.
“You scared me for a bit!” I hit him playfully as I laughed nervously. He just grins back at me in his ever boyish grin.
“Did I make your heart flutter?”
I roll my eyes at him. “You wish, smh!” and he gives a short, little laugh.
“I didn’t know you lived here.”
“Ah, yes, what are you doing here?”
“I came to see my mom, you look pale.” He noted, using the back of his palm to touch my face, in a bid to check my body temperature.
Oh, so caring!
I glance behind him nervously, and I see that the black SUV Jeep is gone, so I feel a bit relieved.
“I was scared just now.” I try to placate his suspicions.
“Oh come on. Don’t be scared. Jake’s got yo’ back!”
I smile up to him, “thanks” and he nods.
He quickly glances at his wristwatch, “I have to catch up with my mom now. Laters baby.” He pecks me quickly and walks away, and I scoff before entering my apartment. He better not get ideas in his darn head.
That doesn’t matter now. What matters is who could be behind the texts and what this person wanted. Why was this person trying to blackmail me, calling me a slut?
Wait… what if it’s Mia!? Is snatching my dickhead boyfriend not enough? Or does she want to make it look like I’m the person cheating and it’s only Ethan that needs rescuing?
If she’s really the person behind these texts, then she’s so done!
Just then, there’s a soft knock on my door.
Oh, not again!
I lazily open the door, and who I see melts me to my bones.
Talk about the devil… Mia! What was she doing here?
* * * * *
I shut the door as I am stunned to my core. Was she really thee or was I only hallucinating?
I open the door once again and it’s really her. She’s standing there with a big bouquet of flowers, an apologetic look, and a little gift bag.
She looks dashing in her cream coloured dress, and her green eyes spell charm and beauty. She ties her blond hair into a ponytail, all together making her look like a fairy princess.
I look at her in shock, so it’s really her, the betrayer!
“What do you want!?” I spit in disgust.
“Lena please…”
“Don’t Lena me!” I scream at her, the tears were threatening to pour from my eyes. Just who was her “Lena”?
“He’s all you ever wanted. You have him now, so why are you here?”
“Just hear me out, please!” she says soberly with tears streaming down her face.
“What’s new? Is it not the usual “I was drunk” stories you’re still gonna spill?” I glare at her angrily.
“I want to tell you everything, just hear me out!”
“Sorry, who are those flowers for? Ethan’s not here pleaseee.” I retort haughtily.
“I knew you loved flowers, so I got some for you.” She says with an apologetic look.
“Since when did you care about what I loved, huh? Throw that in the trash on your way out!” I say and try to shut the door, but she holds it back with her hand.
“Fine. I’ll trash this. Just hear me out first.”
I glare at her with hatred and pain before hesitantly opening my door to let her in.
“So what?”
“I really do not want to be with Ethan.”
“Are you really gonna start off with another lie?”
“I know you won’t believe me, but just hear what I have to say, anyway it may seem to you!” she cries desperately, and her voice quivers as she speaks.
“Fine.” I coo tiredly.
“It happened first on that night that I got dumped by my boyfriend.” she draws in a deep breath and continues, “ I went out drinking with Ethan and I got so drunk I could barely walk.” she fondles her hands nervously, “suddenly, this hot feeling bursts inside me and I’m so horny, I can’t even control it. I tell him about it and he tells me to trust him with it. Soon, he’s kissing me and leads me to a room. See… I… I didn’t initiate it, he did. I was too horny to fight back and…”
“Cut the crap!” I snapped at her.
“Are you just gonna sit there and lie to my face? You both accuse yourselves as the initiators, you all have no balls to take responsibility for your actions!”
“Lena, I’m telling the truth!”
“Oh, save it!” I get up from the sofa, “please leave. I need to be alone.”
She hesitantly gets up with tears in her eyes and walks to the door. She pauses and with the saddest expression I have ever seen on her face, she says; “One day, it will be on record that I tried to talk to you about it.” Then she opens the door and leaves.
I scoff. Record huh? Is this another format of blackmail?
I laugh hysterically until my tears join in, and I’m crying uncontrollably. I sink into the floor behind the door, letting the tears stream, letting all hell loose.
