Chapter 23

JAKE

I am standing in the middle of a forest in Paris and I do not know exactly where I am. I do not know how I am going to get to the hotel while I am in a wolf form. I was supposed to do a soundcheck tonight and now I know that Mark will be highly upset with me.

Then without warning, I see another wolf behind me. This wolf is much bigger than me and it is clear that he is an Alpha. He is as black as the night and the moonlight is showing his red eyes. I turn to face him because I know if I show any fear he might attack me. Then we speak through our telepathy.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

"I am Jake and I am just here to take some cover. I am not here to take over your territory"

"I know that you can not take over my territory because no one can. I need you to leave right now"

I know that I need to leave and get back to my hotel but I do not know how. It is so good to see another real werewolf and I wish that I can ask him a few questions. Before I could even ask he says.

"I am not your friend and I am not here to answer your questions"

"I understand but if I can just please ask you one question then I will leave you"

"One question"

"I am new as a werewolf and I do not know how to turn myself back into a human. Could you please tell me how?"

I can feel the anger that is starting to grow in his heart as he doesn't want to talk to me. But I can only hope that he will help me with this.

"I am not your teacher but it seems if you do not get the answer you might make a spectacle of yourself and all of us..."

It feels so good to hear that there are even more people like me and now I know where to find them.

"...you have to calm your thoughts and think of being your human form again. Then you will turn back to your human form. Now leave my territory and never come back"

I feel so happy knowing now how to turn back into a human form because I really did not know how I would get back to the hotel.

"Thank you so much and I will leave at once"

I do not know what it is but for some reason, I feel the need to listen to him. I could quickly turn around and then I start to run again this time I run towards the stadium and I start to calm my thoughts down. Then suddenly without warning, I turn back into a human.

I feel extreme happiness filling my heart because that was something that bothered me for so many months. It was so easy to just change back and I wish I could ask him even more questions. I will definitely be returning to these woods to get more information.

But now, I find myself naked and if the press sees me like this they will have a field day. Then, when I get closer to the stadium, I see a door with a label saying lost and found. This is the perfect place where I might get some clothes. I quickly look around me and luckily it is dark so it is difficult for someone to notice me.

As I get to the door I see it is locked. I turn the knob and without much effort, I break the lock. I stare at my hand for a while and I realized that my strength is increasing every day. But I do not have time to think about this as I make my way into the room.

I find some clothes and then I make my way back to the stage. I try to avoid Mark at all costs and then I get hold of one of my bodyguards. I ask him to take me back to the hotel and soon I am back in the limo. I realized that there will be a crowd waiting for me outside and so I ask one of my bodyguards if we can swap clothes for a while.

If the press gets hold of me in these clothes they will make sure that I would be on the front page in the morning edition. I should really make a plan to keep extra clothes somewhere if I might turn into a wolf. I make my way back into my room and I make sure to lock the door behind me.

I plunge down in the seat and then I start to think about the wolf I saw today. I realized that he was very angry and I do not know why. I think it was because I entered his territory without him knowing. There are so many more things that I need to learn but right now I am starving. I quickly call room service and almost order everything on the menu.

It is not long after I have ordered that they bring my food up and I start to feast.

LAYLA

I am still startled at what happened while I am holding his clothes in my hands. I do not know if I should start looking at some new clothes options or should I start packing to go home. I was so happy to see the smile on his face about the clothes that I have picked out and now I do not know what to think.

I put the clothes back on the hanger and then I start to explore some other options. Maybe if I see him tomorrow then he would be more happy with the clothes that I have picked out now. It is more of Laura's style because probably he likes it more.

It's not long after Jake has left the room when another man burst through the door.

"Did you see Jake?! Is he here?"

I am startled by his sudden burst through the door but I quickly gather my thoughts.

"No, I am sorry he left"

"Thank you"

He turns around and closes the door behind him. I have no idea who he is and what he does for Jake. Then Rita comes through the door and says.

"I see you have met Mark?"

I can not help but frown because I do not know that name.

"Who?"

"The guy that was just here. You know, Mark Jake's manager?"

"Oh, he did not introduce himself but I guess that was him then..."

"What did you want?"

"He was looking for Jake and he looked kind of nervous"

"Yeah, Jake likes to do these disappearing acts. I guess tonight was one of them"

I can not help that my curiosity is provoked. So I ask.

"Does he do that a lot?"

"Well we have not really seen him around much but recently but he does that yes. I always wonder where he goes to"

"Does Mark know where he goes?"

She laughs a little as she touches the clothes.

"No, no one knows"

My interest is immediately peeked and I can not help but wonder where he might go. I see her walking through the room and touching almost everything. Then I say to her.

"So, did you come to tell me something?"

"Oh yes, it is time to eat. Follow me"

I do as she says and then I see a long table with all the crew. Everyone is eating and chatting away. I guess this is her hard work. So, I turn to her and say.

"Everything looks delicious. Did you eat yet?"

"Nah, I usually wait for everyone to finish and then I will eat whatever is left"

"Do not be like that just come and sit with me and eat some food. You deserve to eat too"

She just smiles as if no one has ever asked her to sit with them. Then we take a seat next to our roommates. But then I see the face that I never thought I will see so soon again. It is Jason.

Then I realized that he is not just looking at me but rather is staring at me. I can not help but feel in an instant uncomfortable and try to focus on what I am eating but when I look up I see him staring.

But he is not just staring he is smiling at me and I can not lie that he intrigues me. So, I turn to Rita and ask.

"What does this Jason guy do?"

"He is a real stud, isn't he? He is quite important, he sees to it that Jake is always sounding as fine as he does. He does the sound checks and when Jake has a problem on stage, he is the guy that fixes it. I am almost sure without him nothing will work around here when it comes to sound"

I realized that when I spoke to him on the airplane he almost lead me to believe that he was not so important. I must say that I do like a humble man. Then, Rita leans into me while looking towards Jason. Then she says.

"He seems to fancy you. That is an honor as he usually does not fancy anyone"

"I think you are seeing things. He is just looking in this direction..."

"Whatever makes you sleep at night..."

As I turn to look at Rita, I see a big grin on her face and I realize that she knows that he likes me. I start to wonder if I like him too but I get back to eating my food and not think about these things. I need to focus on which outfit I need to get ready for tomorrow and not on what date I might be going.
