Chapter 70

JAKE

This can not be. There is only one person that I know that has this scent and she is not here. My curiosity becomes even more and the closer I get the quieter the voices become. Then as the trees part, I see them standing in a circle.

I remember how they also formed a circle around me because they were afraid that I would run away but then as I get closer I see the new member. I have never seen such a beautiful wolf in my life before. I feel an instant attraction toward this new member. She brings me to my knees.

It is almost as if I can not see anyone around me anymore. I only see her white fur shining in the moonlight. Her beauty is beyond comprehension and I can not stop myself from walking to stand right in front of her. I realize that no one is saying another word and then I say to her.

"Welcome"

LAYLA

Just when I thought that I am not safe anymore, I see this big white wolf walking my way. I know that he was not here from the beginning but I know that everything in me wants him. It is almost as if I do not have a choice in what I feel but I love what I feel.

Then he walks right up to me and I feel nervous as if I have to give a speech in front of the entire class. I can not keep my eyes off him and then I am filled with shock as I hear his voice. I know this voice. There is no way that I can not know this voice. His voice is one of a kind.

I do not know what I should do. If I say something now he would know who I am. I know that we are not supposed to know who each other are but I have to know whether it is him or not. So I say.

"Thank you"

I look down at the ground while playing with my paw in it.

JAKE

Immediately I know this is Layla. How is that even possible? Her scent is just like Layla's. Her voice is just like Layla's. Her beauty is beyond anyone I have ever met and only Layla has captured me like that. I know now that she is the one that I need to be with.

Then I realized that she is the only white wolf here and it is as if she was made for me. I watch her looking at the ground and then my voice turns into a low seductive voice.

"I know you..."

She quickly looks into my eyes and I see the purple shining through. Then she says.

"I know you too..."

But then out of nowhere the big black wolf walks up to me.

"It can not be this way. She is not a celebrity in her human form. She is not allowed to be in this pack"

Immediately a rage and anger are filling up inside of me. No one would dare to talk this way about Layla. I will not allow it. I turn around to face him, all I know is that I can feel all the anger and rage forming behind my eyes as I look at him.

"She is staying!"

I see him spreading his legs and then he says staring, at me.

"I am telling you she is leaving"

I do not give him another moment to react as I start to attack him. I can hear the gasps in everyone's voices but they all stay away. I make sure to close my jaw around his neck and I can feel the power running through my entire body.

He tries to stand up but every time I knock him down. The more I fight the more powerful I feel. After a struggle from his side, I realized that if I keep on doing what I am doing. I will kill him.

"Submit!"

I give him a chance to do the right thing and so he says.

"I give up"

I open my jaw and release him but just as he gets a breather he wants to attack me again but this time it is as if I do not have to attack again. I feel myself growing taller as I stare him down. Then suddenly he let out a cry and bows before me.

Then, as I move away, I suddenly see everyone bowing before me. I hear the voices as it says.

"Alpha! Our Alpha!"

I did my research and I realized that every wolfpack has an Alpha and I guess I am the Night Walker's Alpha.

LAYLA

I carefully watch what is happening in front of me and I realize that Jake is even more powerful than what I thought. I can feel his power radiating from him and I know that I can not help but bow before him. He was defending my honor and it is clear that he wants me.

Then as he looks at me, I can not stop myself from bowing again. He walks closer to me and then my entire being is filled with safety. I move closer to him and we put our necks together just to embrace each other. But we are interrupted as one of them says.

"Alpha, what would you like us to do now?"

JAKE

I realized that I have now inherited a much bigger responsibility than what I thought I had. I am now the leader of this pack and they will do whatever I say. But first I need to deal with Layla and so I turn to them and say.

"You may go on with you your lives and we will meet next month again, as it was arranged"

Everyone then slowly walks away but just as Layla wants to do the same thing, I say to her.

"You should stay...please..."

She immediately obeys me and I realize that I have a lot of power. I watch everyone walks away. Then I turn to look at Layla. I can see the gentle and softness of her in her eyes. Then I say to her.

"Layla?"

Without a moment of hesitancy, she says.

"Jake?"

At that moment we both turn back into a human form and it is as if we are marked for life. It feels like we were made for each other. This time it is not a change that is painful but more like a magical moment. Our body says lift up from the air and we spin around as we change into our human forms.

We land back on our feet and I realized that I have white clothes on and she has a beautiful white dress that is sparkling in the moonlight. Her hair is falling beautiful over her shoulders and her eyes are staring at me.

I notice a silver strand of hair in her long locks of blonde hair. But then she walks closer to me and touches my hair and says.

"I never noticed that you had the silver strand of hair"

I feel her body so close to mine and I realize that she is the only thing that I want in my life. I take hold of her wrist that is holding my hair and then we are only an inch away from each other's lips.

"Layla, I think I love you"

She puts her hand on my chest and looks deep into my eyes when she says.

"I know...I love you"

I take her hand in mine and entwine my fingers with hers. I pull her closer to me and then our lips lock. It is almost as if we are sealing a bond that will never be able to break for eternity. I feel her soft lips against mine and I know that I do not need any other woman in my life again.

I am the Alpha of the Night Walkers and she will be my mate for as long as the world exist. The full moon just smiles at us as if it knows what lays ahead for us.
