Chapter12 ~ The Letters
Gulaab POV
I woke up in half sleep when I felt some movement on the bed. I saw him turning his head to another side. I felt alone once again. I came here to feel a little familiar but his focus was on his nieces.
I forced my lashes close again and tried to sleep. I didn't know why I was feeling horrified at this place. I was feeling as if someone comes and tries to kill me as if someone chokes me to death.
I instantly turned my face to another side. There were curtains and I felt a little calm now. I never felt this in my empire. I didn't know, why it was happening.
They were sleeping peacefully and I found myself awake. I looked above, then beside me and it just swept my sleepiness a lot away.
Suddenly, I remembered that Sultan was working on some letters. I didn't know why but my instinct was telling me that there was something important for me.
Without thinking twice, I slowly stepped down on the floor from the bed. I turned to see if he noticed. But, fortunately, he was in deep sleep. I walked towards the same table he was working on in the morning.
There was a slight brightness in the chamber and I slowly without making any noise walked to that table. I sat on the couch near the table and keeping an eye towards the bed started searching for those letters. I remember hiding him those letters somewhere below the table. I took a light lamp from nearby small table and searched below the below.
I couldn't find anything. I didn't know how he hid them, where he hid them.
Suddenly my hand touched something like a hook or knob below the table. I lowered myself and my breath stopped for a moment. There was some kind of door below the table and I didn't waste any moment in opening it. I pushed my hand inside and I felt soft fabric and papers. There were letters.
I took out the much I could at one time. I placed them on the table and started opening them quickly. My one sight was fixed on the bed, precisely on the movement of the bed.
I quickly opened the letters and the first one was of yellow colour. It was purely written in their language and out of my readability. I kept it aside and moved to others. They also seemed the same and useless. I was searching for a letter if it was there. There were only three left and I quickly picked the other one.
I opened it and my breath just stopped. It was to the same person whose names I heard from his mouth when I was in the hammam. I knew he was planning something against my empire because I heard him taking the name of my continent again and again.
The letter was written to Vishaka and I tried to read it.

Sultan Rafiq Sulaiman
***
I read the letter again, again and again, to find out the meaning. It was definitely not the one which was written. He had assigned her a task to finish in three months. He had mentioned someplace in the letter but I couldn't found that name. Her journey will start in the next six days.
I couldn't find anything new and reliable but I was sure he was planning something. He didn't seem anyone who would stop like that.
Then suddenly my sight felt on the four words. Harmony, Independence, Nobility and Devotedness. It was Hind. It was my continent.
Oh my God!!!
I quickly shifted in my place as I couldn't believe it. That means that girl was going to Hind in six days and had some mission to finish in three months.
I quickly read the letter once again and then suddenly, I felt some movement on the bed.
I horrified, I scared to death. I quickly placed all the letters back in place and stood up.
"Begum"
I was gone, I stood frozen.
I saw him parting the curtains and walking towards me.
"What are you doing?" He asked knitting his eyebrows.
I couldn't stop myself from turning back a little and when I was little confidence that there were no letters left I said.
"Um...Ummm... the water, I was thirsty." I said touching my neck awkwardly and walked to the jar of water.
I filled the glass and drunk.
Honestly, I was shocked, horrified, scared and didn't know how and how much that Vishaka was harmful to Hind. But, If Sultan was planning to send her alone to the Hind. She must have some calibre and power. I wanted to know. I wanted to see her. And most importantly, I needed to stop it.
"Begum, What are you thinking? All okay?" He asked and I didn't know what to say.
I didn't have any power to sleep beside him again now. I didn't know how to react. Since the morning I was feeling quite lively but now I learned reality once again. He was my enemy, he wanted to kill my Brother, He wanted to become the King of Hind and moreover, I could never fall for him in any situation.
"Nothing" I fake smiled.
I walked back to the bed and lied beside the angels. I instantly closed my eyes although the sleep was nowhere to be found.
My whole night just passed like this. I was shifting on the bed nervously. The thoughts of my brother getting killed were horrifying me to death.
Finally, the Sun rose and Sultan woke up. He went to the Hammamm and I sat up too. I wanted to meet Nagma. She was the one who knew everything in this Empire and who could give me information.
After some time I saw Sultan coming back from the Hammam and working on his prayers. I quickly went to the bathroom and took the bath. I came out from there and then my sight fell on his sister in our chamber.
"Bhabhijaan... I am Sorry. These two came here last night. I really hope they didn't disturb you a lot"
She said nicely and I replied carrying a smile on my face.
"No Jiji... They both are really sweet. I loved to spend time with them."
I said.
"Good... Very good. Kainat, Hayat come on let's go to our chamber" She said to both the angels who were still jumping in their Maamujaan's arms.
"Bhaijaan... Can you please let them go? They need to take bath and do prayers."
He laughed looking at both of them and then said suddenly.
"Okay, now you both, go with your Ammijaan. I will meet you in the evening. I have some work" He said softly to them and kissed both of them.
They both kissed him and back and came running to me.
"Maamijaan... Thank you for feeding us last night" They both said in the same tone and I smiled instantly.
"Your welcome." I kissed both of them on cheeks and they literally giggle mesmerizingly when anyone does that. And then they both returned it back.
"Okay... Bhabhijaan. Thank you for taking care of my daughters" His sister said.
"Jiji, They are like our daughters too," I said.
My gaze unknowingly diverted to Sultan who was smiling devilishly listening to me.
I quickly turned my gaze back to his sister.
They bid us goodbye and left the chamber. I honestly felt a little relief as I needed to do some real work today. I found myself and Sultan alone now.
I looked at him who was having a basket of fruits in his hand and his eyes were again fixed on mercilessly finishing the basket. Well, the only thing I correctly learned about him till now was that he eats like a Bull. Like his focus was always on finishing the whole basket.
"Begum"
He called making me shiver suddenly.
"Yes"
I said.
"You like kids?" He asked biting the apple and I just lowered my gaze when my sight fell on his lips.
"Yeah, I just discovered it meeting Kainat and Hayat," I said.
"So, Do you want your own kids?" He asked without even looking at me.
My eyebrows knitted as what he just asked. From where did this question come out.
"Yes... No, I can never make babies with you. Ew," I said.
He laughed hearing me and then asked suddenly.
"Why? What's wrong with me?" He asked.
"You are going to be a father already. Why the hell you want more babies?" I asked.
"Hahaha," He laughed and then stopped eating. He stood up from the bed and walked towards me.
"But, I didn't ask this. I asked why don't you want babies with me?" He asked.
Honestly, I couldn't figure out the best answer to that but my center for denial was only revolving around his already pregnant wife. I didn't know why I was a little insecure now realizing he was going to father soon and he loves his first wife more than anyone.
"Well, you are my enemy" I formed my answer.
"Now, that is sensible," He said standing closer in front of me.
I walked back a little and replied.
"Can you just maintain some distance with me?" I asked.
He walked back a little too and said.
"Ohh, why not?"
Then, He just left the chamber and went from there.
I instantly called.
"Nagma..."
I waited for a few moments and then I saw her coming running to me.
"Choti Begum"
She said huffing.
"Nagma, You have some work to do," I said to her.
"Yes, Begum Sahiba. Tell me" She said.
"Come, sit here," I asked her to sit along on the bed.
She nervously sat and I told her.
"Actually Nagma, You know, Your Sultan yesternight was praising a girl in front of me a lot. But, It was not Zeenat Begum."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"What I mean is, Do I look ugly?" I asked making a polite and innocent face.
"No, Begum Sahiba. You are so lovely and pretty." She said.
"And, he was praising the beauty of a girl called Vishakha. Do you know who is she? I mean I also want to see how does she look." I said.
"Hahahaha" She laughed loudly.
"Vishakha... Hahahaha" She laughed again.
"Begum Sahiba, She is a Venomous girl." She said coming closer to my ear.
"What?" I asked thinning my eyebrows as I couldn't believe it.
"Promise me, you won't tell anyone." She asked and I nodded taking her in the confidence.
"No, Never," I said.
"Yes, She is venomous. She drinks poisons of different types. There is a friend of hers. Murat, he brought different kinds of poisons from different places." She said showing her big eyes.
"Begum Sahiba... Sultan also knows that and I don't think he is that much fool that he will fall for her" She said.
Everything instantly made sense to me. He was planning to send that girl in Hind to kill my brother. And I had to hurry as only a few days left for her departure.
I felt my goosebumps, I didn't know what to do. I felt helpless.
But, All I could mutter was "Okay"
She smiled looking at me and then I changed the topic a little as something popped up in my mind.
Suddenly, a thought came into my mind and I ordered Nagma.
"Nagma... I want to write a letter to one of my friends. Can you bring one for me?" I asked.
"But, Begum Sahiba you know that Sultan won't allow you to send letters outside the Empire," She said.
"It's okay, But I want to try at least," I said to her.
