10| The great Clara.

Ruby.

The sound of chirping birds woke me up as my eyes met with the beautiful sight of the rising sun. I yawned lazily and got up reluctantly from the comfortable bed deciding immediately that my bed was now one of my best friends... I mean friends are meant to be comforting, right?

I was about to rush into the bathroom and get ready for school when my curiosity was heightened by the noise been made outside the room. I opened the door to see maids cleaning and dusting everywhere thoroughly like it was ever allowed to even be dusty at all. I called on one of the maids to be questioned.

"What's with the thorough cleaning?"

"Madam is having her best friends and their kids over like she does once in two months ma'am." She replied politely bowing her head so low that I feared for her neck.

"You don't have to bow to me before you speak, look at me and reply me, This doesn't concern me at all, does it?" I asked hoping she'll say no.
I really can't handle more of spoilt brats and judgmental looks from anyone.

"I don't know ma'am." The maid replied while I sighed in a I'm-so-tired manner.
"Alright then, thanks. You may take your leave." I said politely as I closed my door.

I rushed into the bathroom hoping that I could actually get to school before the so called visitors come around, school was my comfort zone. Luck as it was however was always never on my side as I ran into Mrs Daniels immediately I stepped foot out of my room ready for school. She was snapping at one of the maids to get her favourite flower vase standing properly.

"And where are you going dressed in a trouser that hideous and big?!" She asked staring at my Jean.

"Today's Monday ma... I have classes in the the university today, you know that I just started my final year." I replied.

"And you're going in that? You're not even supposed to be seen roaming around this house in that rag you call an outfit not to talk of wearing it outside this house where reporters are lurking around somewhere looking for a way to humiliate this family. As much as I hate it, you are now a part of the Daniels' family and you should start acting like it. You are now a public figure whether you like it or not." She lectured angrily while I stared at her already tired of her rants.

But then that was just a pause, she was not through yet.

"Meanwhile, you're not going to school today, get back into that room and make yourself beautiful and I don't care how you do it!" She snapped glaring at me.

"Uhm... I don't think you'll approve of most of my clothes, Mrs Daniels. I like being comfortable."

"Don't argue with a fashion Icon, Ruby. Just in case you don't know, you are staying with celebrities and the Great Clara is never wrong about fashion. Plus have you even gone through your closet? The clothes in it can sustain you for a whole year even if you don't repeat them so go and get yourself into one of them and try to look classy for once!" She concluded as she left me standing watching her walk away swaying her hips in a gorgeous and classy manner.

Talk about a huge ego!

I reluctantly walked back into my room angry at myself for not eloping instead of surrendering to this stupid marriage.
I opened my closet as my eyes struggled to take in the beauty of the clothes in it. The closet was almost as big as my former room, no exaggeration.  On a side of the closet was a shoe rack which had hundreds of high heels, sneakers, flat slippers, flat shoes and sandals. I was sure that I wouldn't be wearing much of those heels though, I was never a fan of them.

Just when I finally decided on one of the simple dresses in my closet, a knock was heard on my door.
rushed to open it and was met with Sarah and Mama whom I let in gratefully, it was getting boring around here anyways.

"We are here to clean your room ma'am." Sarah said all smiles.

"I thought I told you to call me Ruby." I corrected sternly.

"I'm sorry, ma'am... uhm... Ruby." She stuttered while I just chuckled, I guess it'll take sometime to get used to.

Mama on the other hand was comfortable with it.
"I hope you're not planning on wearing that dress, Ruby. I don't want you to be a laughing stock for those spoilt brats you'll be meeting. Sarah, check for something elegant yet simple." Mama said as Sarah started searching through the closet.

"Thank you so much. Fashion is not my thing at all. Meanwhile, Is there anything I should know about those girls beforehand? I don't want any surprises." I stated dragging mama to sit beside me on one of the fancy cushions.

"Well, Mrs Daniels has three bestfriends and they all come here with their kids who are all females. Doctor Dara is closer to her though and her daughter is the most irritating one plus she has a huge crush on your husband." Mama explained in a detailed manner.

"Doctor Dara? I think I met a woman with that name at my dinner party. She acted all nice which was obviously so fake, I've seen people who don't like me in school act that way several times."

"Well, you know this saying that says like mother like daughter? That actually applies to Doctor Dara and her daughter, Lovett, just that Lovett is even worse than her mother so don't be surprised at her fake smile, tiny voice, bratty whine and judgmental eyes. She isn't hard to recognize since she's always on pink every damn time, too much of pink might I add which makes her look so plastic." Mama said in a demonstrative manner while I laughed.

"Tada! I found the perfect dress for you!" Sarah announced excitingly.

Welcome to Hell, dear wife!
