Chapter 10

It's been a few days since Mia had told them to call her Mira and not Mia.
At first, Bella did not read any meaning to it, so she asked no question, but thinking about it now, she realized she should have asked.
She also had little reason to call Mia by her name, so it was easy for her; although she had been lucky enough to call her Mira and not Mia most of the time she needed to call her name.
But what does Mira and Fred get to do with this? Bella wondered again.
"Bella?" Charlotte called and she blinked.
"Y-yes?"
"I asked if you remembered his girlfriend but you said nothing about it."
"Of course I do," Bella answered, quickly. "I am just wondering what it has to do with her. And then it's Frank, not Fred. I also think he has another name. I can't remember what it was. Mia..."
Bella chuckled. Why isn't she getting used to the name today?
"Mira always calls him that," Bella corrected.
Charlotte furrowed her brows. Mia calls him that? She needs to think. She smiled after a while. She remembers now.
"It's Jason. Mia called him Jason."
"Do you know I was curious back then to know why he bears a different name in a work environment and a different one with his girlfriend?"
Charlotte chuckled. "I wasn't curious then but now I am."
Charlotte had no reason to be curious back then. The broadcasting project was taken away from her, and she needed to move to a new one as soon as possible; there wasn't any time to think about things that weren't work-related.
She chuckled slightly. She was indeed a workaholic back then.
"Do you think Mira knows why?" Bella asked.
Charlotte nodded. "She definitely will."
Bella nodded but said nothing. Silence invaded the room for a few seconds before Bella spoke up again.
"You haven't told me what Mia's change of name has to do with Frank, or should I say Jason and his girlfriend."
"Well," Charlotte rested her back on the couch. "I think Mia, or rather, Mira, is trying to play some tricks on her."
Bella furrowed her brows. She still doesn't get it.
"Mirabel is back in the city and..."
Charlotte's phone began to ring. It was Mia calling. Charlotte stared at Bella and that got her curious.
"Is that Mia, I mean Mira calling?" Bella asked and Charlotte nodded.
"Charlotte, is Bella with you?" Mia said from the other side of the phone.
Charlotte nodded. "Yes, she is. Do you want me to give her the phone?"
"No, Charlotte. I was planning to call her later but since you both are together, it's better. I will speak to you both."
Charlotte put her phone on speaker and Bella moved closer to her.
"Hi, Mira," she greeted.
"Hi, Bella. Well, you both do not need to call me Mira anymore, because... My mission has been accomplished."
Bella was confused about what was happening, while Charlotte only smiled but said nothing.
"You need to see the comments on the internet. She was so embarrassed," Mia said.
"You must be very happy," Charlotte said.
"What is going on here?" Bella asked.
Mia was surprised at Bella's question. She had expected her to ask what she had done and not what was going on.
"Bella, you don't know?"
"I don't know. You both told me nothing," Bella answered.
"Oh, I am so sorry, Bella. I thought I did," Mia said.
"You did not. But you told Charlotte. What about..."
"She did not tell me her plans, Bella. I only know it has something to do with Mirabel," Charlotte defended herself.
"Charlotte is staying the truth. I did not tell her my plans. I only told her who was involved."
Bella sighed. She was still angry a little but she wasn't going to show it.
"I think I know why I did not tell you," Mira said. "Did you remember I called you some days ago but you did not pick up? And when you called back, you sounded so nervous?"
Bella nodded. She remembered.
"You asked me what was going on, and I told you I had been waiting for an email from the Vérah Fashion School but it wasn't forthcoming," Bella said.
"Did you remember asking me why I called and I said it wasn't something that important? We can always talk about it later."
Bella nodded. She remembered clearly.
"I remember, Mia. I am sorry for getting a little pissed off."
Mia chuckled. "You don't have to be. I should have told you after you got the email but I forgot. I was also supposed to tell you and Charlotte my plan but I knew you were busy. I couldn't disturb you with little stuff like that."
Charlotte smiled. "Apology accepted."
Bella nodded. "Yes, it is. Now tell us what you did."
Mia narrated again why she wanted to be called Mira and not Mia.
Mirabel who was once her coursemate, had stolen a movie gig from an upcoming actress.
"Mirabel wasn't even into acting before," Mia said angrily.
Then why is she suddenly interested in acting? Charlotte wondered.
"Why did she need a movie gig?" Bella asked.
"Her new boyfriend was dating this upcoming actress before he met her. According to the source, she wanted the girl to leave him alone, but she wasn't going to do that, so..."
"She took the gig," Charlotte completed the sentence for her.
"Yes. Mirabel doesn't know how to act. She has no plans to act either. She allowed the actress to act in the movie and made her boyfriend change the girl's face into hers."
Charlotte furrowed her brows. She doesn't seem to understand it.
"That is what you meant by stealing her movie gig?" Bella asked.
"Yes," Mia answered.
"That is too extreme," Charlotte said.
"She should have used a different actress at least," Bella and Charlotte frowned at her.
"You mean what she did would have been right if she used a different actress."
Bella shook her head. "I did not mean it that way. She did not do right but that would have been a bit better. What do you..."
"It is not in any way better," Charlotte said and Bella nodded.
"You are right. It is not."
"The funny thing about everything was that..." Mia continued. "Mirabel stole the actress fans and planned a fan event."
"How did you come in, Mia," Bella said, staring at her wall clock.
They still have a plane to catch by ten.
"Well," Mira said. "I paid someone to leak the thriller to her so-called fans. But before that, I made sure her face was changed to the real actress's face. I also leaked my picture and claimed to be Mirabel who was sponsoring the movie and not acting in it."
"Wait," Charlotte said. "Let me get something straight. They don't know her face?"
"They do not," Mia answered. "She must have thought the movie would flop or maybe the editing would not go well."
"And the movie did not?" Bella asked.
"Well," Mia said. "The thriller did not, neither was the editing."
