Chapter 19
"Can we take pictures of that?" Bella asked, moving closer to Charlotte.
Charlotte shook her head. They can't.
"It's photosensitive. We can't."
Bella nodded. They had better go on to the next one.
They went from one collection to another and were only able to take a few pictures.
"How about we go back to the ones we've seen?" Charlotte suggested. "I mean the ones we saw before you spoke to the guide."
Bella agreed to Charlotte's suggestion and they went back. They were lucky; they could take pictures of most of the collections.
Charlotte stared at her phone. It was already five-forty, leaving them twenty minutes before the gallery opened.
"We need to leave," she told Bella. "It's almost six."
"Can we stop by a restaurant to eat?" Bella asked. "I am so hungry."
Charlotte nodded. "But we can't stay too long."
Bella nodded. She knows.
"I want us to be there when the gallery opens," Charlotte said. "Do you have any restaurants in mind?"
Bella shook her head. "No. But we can check out a few online."
Bella quickly searched for restaurants close by. She saw many of them but only two met their taste and were also close.
"Which do you think we should go for?" She asked.
"This," Charlotte pointed at the second.
It was closer to the gallery than it was to the museum.
"We can get to the gallery quickly," she added.
Bella nodded. She had thought about that too but she needed to know Charlotte's choice.
She smiled. "The second it is. I will book a taxi."
Bella booked a taxi which showed up a few minutes later.
"The car is here," Bella announced.
They left the museum and Bella stopped by to say a proper goodbye to the young man at the door.
They joined the driver in the car and he drove off. The drive to the restaurant was a short one.
"Thank you," Bella told the driver.
They entered the restaurant and found a table close to the window. They both wanted to enjoy a nice view while eating.
They ordered some delicacies and began to eat. It took them ten minutes to be done. After paying the bills, they left the restaurant and found their way to the gallery.
"Did you enjoy the food?" Bella asked.
"It was nice," Charlotte answered.
"Can we go back there another time?" Bella asked.
"Sure we can. When we have the time."
They got to the gallery two minutes after six. The gallery was not open yet, but a lot of people were already outside waiting. They joined the group of people to wait.
As they waited, they listened to the different conversations going on between people. They laughed at some, frowned at some, and wondered what some meant.
The gallery finally opened five minutes after six. They apologized for the delay and then allowed them in.
They headed straight to see the works of the fashion designer who had brought them to the gallery.
There were a lot of people who wanted to see the works too; it took a while before they were able to get close to them.
"Finally," Bella mumbled.
She took pictures and also spent time checking them out. Charlotte took notes of some designs too.
"What do you think about this?" She pointed at a flowery design.
Bella nodded. It's a very good one.
"Do you plan to use it for your new work?"
Charlotte shook her head. Not that.
"I like her pattern. I am thinking of collaborating with her on a new design that just popped into my head."
Bella furrowed her brows. "You've got a new design already?"
Charlotte nodded. "I got it while staring at the flowery design. Look."
She showed Bella the sketch she had done.
"This is beautiful," Bella mumbled. "I am also thinking of something."
"What?" Charlotte asked.
"I think you can add a few patterns around this side." Bella pointed at the shoulder.
Charlotte nodded. That sounds like a good idea. But what pattern?
Bella suggested a few patterns and they tried them. In the end, they settled for a unique one.
Charlotte raised the book up. "Now, this is it."
"I can't agree less." Bella smiled. "I can't wait for us to show her this design. I am sure she will like it."
"Do you think we will be able to meet her?" Charlotte asked.
Bella shrugged. She can't say. A lot of people are coming to the summit for her and a few others.
"I can't say but I know she will be at the summit."
Charlotte nodded. She knows. She is just wondering if they would be able to meet her.
"If you get to see her," Charlotte said. "Make sure you talk about me to her."
Bella chuckled. "We are going to see her together because I know you are not going to leave me all by myself."
Charlotte nodded. Of course, she won't.
"Let's go check out other designers' works," Bella said. "We can never tell what we will see."
They went on to check out other designs. They were interested in some of them, while some, they just walked past them.
Bella met a few other fashion school CEOs she knew, and they talked. Most of them would be attending the summit too.
"I am going over there." Charlotte pointed at a design she had just seen.
She wasn't just leaving because of the design, she also wanted to give Bella some space to talk to people.
"Do you need me to come with you?" Bella asked and Charlotte shook her head.
"You do not need to do that."
Bella nodded and Charlotte left. Bella joined her a few minutes later and they went on to look at a few more designs before leaving.
It was seven-fifty when they left the gallery. They got to the garden just in time. The music concert had not started.
The people at the concert were not much yet which made it easier for them to find their way to the front. Soon, the concert began.
Bella screamed happily to the tune of the music and Charlotte could only watch her in admiration.
"Come on, join in the fun!" Bella yelled slightly, so Charlotte could hear her.
Charlotte nodded but said nothing. At first, she just nodded to the tune of the song but when she got immersed in it, she began to jump and scream just like the rest.
The concert ended with them panting happily; they had had a lot of fun.
It took a while before they were able to leave the concert ground; there were so many people by the time it ended.
"How about we get some drinks before we leave?" Bella suggested.
Charlotte agreed. Aside from them needing some drinks, they also needed some rest before leaving.
They went to the bar and ordered a few drinks. They sat down on the stool and talked about the concert as they sipped their drinks.
At exactly ten, they left the bar and went back to the hotel. They were so tired that they had a quick shower and went straight to bed!
