Hayden P.O.V.
“I am going to kill you all” he growls with a sinister grin.
Immediately, after uttering those terrible words, I see Malachi's facial expressions changes from the worst as a gruesome grin spread across his once familiar face. I watch him in a paralytic fear; as his formally beautiful true sapphire orbs takes on a cold, detached glare that glows a brilliant sunflower yellow. His jawline constricted into a tight clench as He straightens his back, which only added to his already massive height. Look, forgotten was the pry he had in his grip as he discards Benjamin back to the ground.
A part of me knew that this wasn't my Malachi, even though, we just met a day ago;I just knew that my mated wasn't capable of this coldness. I felt the light flutter of my stomach as the fear planted its roots, there was no stopping him now, Malachi or whoever this is; was here to kill Benjamin and his father. It looked like an impossible mission to even trying to get through to Malachi; however, I felt it was my duty to my pack to at least try to defuse the pending doom that hang in the air. I took a deep breath to get my wits intact before attempting to reach out to him.
“M-m-mal-a-chi!” I stutter as my overwhelming nerves hit me hard, although I thought to cover the undeniable fear I feel it still manage to push through the cracks.
“I am not Malachi, little one!” the impostor replies in a baritone voice that commands the room.
As soon as his those words fell from his lips; the surrounding air becomes still as the impostor eyes flash a light trace of purple before returning its precious yellow. The electrifying familiarity of his dominance that my parents and I have come to know has an extension of Malachi; explosive from him like a flammable-can caught in a roaring fire.
Within minutes, I feel the tell-tale of his overwhelming power reverberates through the room; conquering everything in its wake except for me. Why? It didn't affect me, I don't know, all I know is that I am thankful that is powers didn't have on upper hand on me. Although, his powers didn't impact me, it still did something to my body. Which would suddenly becomes stiffen as the intensity of his ability walked among us. And before I know it, my form stood frozen like a mannequin at a store window as I watch my mate demolish the atmosphere.
The room could barely contain the anguish that bleed from the occupants, as their painful howl pierce not only my ears but my heart. A series of helplessly whimper pull from me at the pain of my pack members, as their wailing underneath Malachi overbearing dominance. Its omnipotent aroma influence his ability to stretched beyond its reach, causing tears to spill from my eyes has it begins to sweep across the pack land. My ears ring with the chorus of begging that tug on the string of my link with my pack, as numerous men, women, and children wailed for mercy.
An unfriendly chilly gust against my skin causing the hairs to stand on end as goosebumps engulf my arms like a sleeve. But not before an unfortunate feeling of terror swamp me; submerging me in my anxiety. I felt an unknown weakness that wasn't butterflies devour the pit of my stomach. I could hardly force on what was happening around me, I was enveloped by the oppressive weight that rested on my pack bond. However, I did manage to hear a lower chant that seem to roll off Malachi's tongue; or should I say Alistair. The lower chants sound ancient, like a cantillated version of a long forgotten language that I have only heard elder Alden spoke before, and that was when he was in deep meditation.
As Alistair continues his sinister chants; I heard Benjamin and his father release a groan of anguish. I swiftly turn my head in their direction; just in time to see a rich color of red trickle down their eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. My teardrop eyes protrude from their socket in alarm at what I am witnessing, he's definitely going to kill them if I don't do something to stop him, but what can I do? Without further deliberation;I promptly take the necessary steps to stop Alistair from committing a horrific act. I ran the short distance to Alistair before immediately dropping to my kneels in front of him. I wrap my arms around his left leg like a toddler at the supermarket throwing a tantrum. Not only that, but I cast my pleading eyes and pouting lips up at him; With a hoarse voice as I beseech with the tyrannical wolf.
“Please Alistair, stop! Don't hurt them, please!” I weep.
“Why? I am only a rogue to these pathetic excuses for wolf” I replied dryly.
“So tell me why I should let them live when all they do is belittle me and my family” he snarls at me, before casting his daunting eyes down at me as he dare me to challenge his authority. The intensity of his gaze cause my shoulders to slumped as my body forms a smaller version of myself. I quickly avert my pleading eyes from his acute stare, before answering he in a low respectful tone, so I would upset him further.
“Because if you hurt them, you will only succeed in hurting me, your mate, Alistair.” I whisper to Malachi.
“Please don't hurt them.” I appeal with him.
A sudden feeling of tranquility bless the room, before the unswerving chorus of excruciating agony that exploded over my telepathic link to the pack abruptly cease. The only existence of the barbarity act is the slight, noticeable throbbing in my temples. Just like before, the once zephyr air quickly return to normal as Alistair withdraw his violent influence. As soon as he release the hefty weight over the room; I heard several hurried footsteps behind me, I could see nothing apart from Alistair feet; so I assumed that the others were hurrying to help Benji and his dad.
“Hayden,” he whispers in a hush tone.
My head immediately tilts up to face him upon hearing my name, I softly smile tug at my lips as I see his previously brightly glowing yellow eyes had returned to their usual gently color. “Now this is my kindhearted Malachi” I thought to myself as my stomach did a little flip, however all good things most come to on end. Malachi gently pull his leg away from my hold as he looked at the mayhem his wolf had cause. My smile instantly fall as I see his face twist into a shameful demeanor as a heart-wrenching fear assault our bond.
An inaudible mewl escape him as he abruptly falls to his knees before me, He carelessly curls his body into the child's pose with his head resting on my lap. But with his arms tightly fasten around my waist, as uncontrollable tremor vibrated his body while muted moan of pain and shame part from his lips. Like some sort of sick instinct I knew exactly what I need to do, I moved fluently to soothe the mortifying agony that push from Malachi to rush waves. As I'm carefully petting Malachi's long ropes of dark brown hair has I shush his moans.
I finally take a chance as slowly to a look around the kitchen, and the mayhem I saw pulled a gasp from me, which in turn pulled a chorus of whines from Malachi. Furthermore, I followed my dad and elder Alden hurried movement as they hurry to help an unconscious Dean who laid limp on the ground. While just a few from me; my mom and Lora tries to provide some needed assistance to a barely responsive Benjamin. My gaze drifted to the droplets of Blood that continue to trail down Benjamin nose. I cringe at the site of my best friend and the acknowledgment that my mate had done this unforgettable act to him and his dad. The horrific site of Malachi's abilities had left a terrible feeling of despair in my chest.
Suddenly, I hear Dad's rush voice bellows out over our telepathic link as he calls for the urgent aid of the pack doctors. I could believe that our once quite morning could turn so catastrophic. With Malachi's wolf try to kill my best friend and his dad who both disrespected their Luna. Although, Benji and I had a fall-out yesterday, it didn't mean I wanted him to get hurt.
“ I am Sorry, please don't hate me!” Malachi beseeches with me in a wet voice;that pulled me from my thoughts.
