Benjamin P.O.V.

I tried to lift my unwilling body off the cold hard surface it laid flaccid on, but for some reason it would comply to my request. The frustration builds in me as I just for the fourth time to move my body; however, the thing still refuse to obey me. I grunt my frustration as I finally give up on the useless mission, as I focus my attention and energy on something I think is much easier. I tried countless time to out my eyes; however, I didn't succeed on that task until the fourth try. Not only that, but I slowly open my eyes to a blinding light that clouds my vision; immediately causing me to close them as an unwelcome pain throbs through my skull.

Not only that, but I feel cold fingers lifting my right eyelid causing the wicked light to seethe through, blinding me again, I grunt in pain as I quickly shut my eyes again. “What's going on?” I question myself. The last thing I remember is begin toss across the kitchen and into a corner, I don't quite remember how I got in the corner; one minute I was sitting beside Hayden questioning him about his betrayal and the next I was in the corner against a storage cabinet. I feel so confuse as my brain tries to piece together the scrabbled memories of moments ago.

In my hazy memory, I remembered how the rogue pulled Hayden behind in a protective but somewhat possessive manner; and how the little enemy of mine clung to the rogue's body like a koala bear.  However, even through these flashbacks, I still couldn't quite remember why I felt betrayed by my best friend or even considered him my enemy.  Maybe it was the way he glued his body to the rogue's body; perhaps that was what rubbed me the wrong way.  The intrusive light flash over my eyelids again pulling a threatening snare from me.

“We need to get them to the infirmary stats, his pulse is slowly fading.” A female voice bellows out from somewhere is the room.

“Did the rogues hurt my best friend or his family? Who else got injured?” I question my subconscious.

Immediately, a vivid image cross my mind of my dad, Colton the former Alpha and elder Alden come through the back door. In my mind, I saw dad with his face bearing a look of pour anger as he tells the rogue to released me, which the rogue compiles with at once. The rogue growls out something that sounded like a threat, however my mind didn't allow me to hear what the rogue said.

Within minutes, a horrific sight display before my eyes, as the rogue emits total dominance over the room and its occupants. The sheer power that ooze from the rogue was unnatural for a mere wolf, he wasn't on Alpha, so why did he produce so much authority and dominance? “What the fuck is he?”  I watch with wide eyes as the three men; who stood by the door, quickly join me in a kneeling position as the rogue's dominance wreak havoc. Immediately, an intense pain shot through my body as it slowly crept its way up my spine before inserting itself in my skull. I felt my blood being to boil in my vein as the rogue chants its witch tune.

I helplessly try fighting through the annoying pain, but it only doubled tenfold as a hot liquid spill from my eyes to trail down my cheeks. Even though, the hot liquid drip from my eyes, I was still able to see what the spell was doing to my dad. However, it seemed to have no effect on the two men who stood behind my kin, I watch the sad memory of my dad howling in agony as blood leak from every opening on his face. The horrific saw caused my heart to rail in my chest as I moan at the vivid image my mind produced for me.

“This can't be a memory, there's no way a mere rogue had all this power without being killed by his pack” I thought to myself.

“Unless that was the whole reason for them fleeing their pack!” I concluded.

However, I was suddenly pulled from my thoughts by the hurried footsteps moving across the floor, which came to a halt at my left side. I felt my body being turn in various direction, even though, I'm not cool with people touching me; there's nothing I could do but allow the person to move me in whichever way pleases them. Suddenly, I feel my limp body being moved onto another, other hard surface that wasn't as cold or hard as the one laid on before.

“Jebediah?” I called out to my wolf telepathically, but got no answer from him. It feels as though he was trapped in a dark cloud in the back of my mind.

“Jeb” I tried to reach for him again but still came up short. I could still feel his presence;so I know the gruesome act didn't traumatize him that much. “So why isn't he answering me?” I argue.

“Jeb” I called a final time; however, the result remain the same.

I was about to attempt calling Jeb one more time when I was rudely interrupted by someone suddenly lifted the thing I laid on off the floor. I felt it tug forward; I felt as though I am on a Rollercoaster ride. Furthermore, I hear a door open and a cool wind gush through the door to pass over my skin. Why are we going outside? From the way the sun beat down on my aching eyes; I could tell it was noon. Although, It was as bright as the treacherous light that tried to blind me moments ago.

“Benji, hold on! Doctor Myles, will fix you right up” a voice that sounds like Hayden said in a choke sob.

“Why would doctor Myles need to fix me up; I am not broken” I replied Inc confusion, but it seems he didn't hear me because he didn't respond to me.

I felt a shaky clump hand caress mine, I took me a while to realize it was Hayden because he insists on wearing that godawful cologne. I wanted to tell him last night that his cologne didn't scent as great as he expected; in fact, it smelled like wet dog. But, It was not my intention to hurt his feelings; because he seemed to be having a rough time already. Then there was that fact that I had fucked up once yesterday; when I manhandle him. So, I had no room for error.

I could feel the slight panic that rolled off him; I wanted to soothe his troubled mind and to let him know that I would be perfectly fine because there wasn't wrong with me. But there's something in the back of my mind telling me that I should abandon the feelings I have for Hayden because he belongs to another. However, being the stubborn, brutal I am; I quickly toss that unwanted thought out of my mind. There was no way Hayden had a mate and even if he did who is it.

“He those!” Jed mewls with sadness.

“What?” I question the absent wolf.

“Didn't you hear me calling out to you memories ago? And what do you mean by he already has? Hayden is supposed to be our mate, remember!” I hit him with a boat load of questions.

“One question at a time.” Jeb said, before continuing,“ I was too weak to answer your call, the little encounter with the rogue drain our energy and our healing ability is extremely wick. As for Hayden, he is mated to the rogue wolf, so he is not our mate.” I finish.

“What? No way,” I argued, even though a small part of me keeps telling me that it's true.

“Benjamin, believe me when I share with you that he's linked to another. But that just means our mate is out there somewhere.” Jebediah said with such calmness, it irritates me.

“There is no way Hayden's mated to a damn rogue! How do you know that he's mated to rogue?” I bicker with him. There's no way Hayden could be mated to that thing.

“If the hickeys on his neck aren't proof enough for you; I don't know what is, not to mention the Godawful smell of pine-cone mixed with vanilla a that lingers on his skin. I know you wanted to buy the new cologne bull shit he's been spitting to us. But, let's be real, he is mated to the rogue.”  Jeb rambles through our telepathic link.

Even though, I didn't want to believe Jebediah, the more I thought about it, the more it makes sense. But I don't remember seeing any hickeys on Hayden's neck; however, I do remember the awful scent he tried to pass off as a new cologne last night, but that was about it.

As if it were on cue, a vivid memory I tried to stuff to the back of my mind push forward. Immediately producing images of Hayden with countless hickeys trailing from his neck to disappear between his shirt collar. I hear the reverberating roar of a wolf as he demands I let go of what is his. I gasp as realization finally hits me.

“He's mated to the rogue!” I gasp out in my unconscious mind.

That explains why I felt betrayed by Hayden, it's because he chose that rogue over me. “Why couldn't he have rejected the abomination?”  It's not like their bonding can be; not only was he a rogue, but he was on Hybrid abomination. A normal wolf isn't supposed to possess that much power over a beta, why was he even here? Didn't he already have a pack? Unless his previous Alpha tried to kill him, and he fled to our pack to seek refuge. In that case, we most have him executed immediately.

“ I believe we most; no wolf should be that powerful.” Jebediah told me in agreeing tone.

“Strongly agree with you Jeb; no mere wolf should be that powerful” I agree with me wolf.

As soon as I'm able to move from this dark, that holds me captive;I will be informing Colton of this abomination that has laid claim on Hayden. There is no way Colton is okay with having this thing in his pack; the sooner I get rid of him, the sooner Hayden can move on from this mistake.

“ Benjamin!” Jeb calls in a soft voice.

“Yes” I replied with eagerness as my brain begins to form different plans on how to take down the bastard.

“We're not doing this for your gain, we're doing this for the pack” Jeb informs me in a strict voice.

“Yea, yea, yea,” I told him.
