Malachi's P.O.V.

“We need to get them to the infirmary stats, his pulse is slowly fading.” the female medical assistant exclaims as she presses her first finger and middle finger to the side of Ben's neck. Just under his jaw and beside his windpipe.

Upon hearing this, Hayden tremble, fingers hastily wraps around my left arm that rest firmly across his chest. However, my fear seems to get the beat of me as my grip tighten on my boy. It's not that I didn't want him to support his friend because I truly did want him to lend a helping hand wherever it's needed. It's just that I fear if I release my grip on him, I would lose him forever, there's no-way he would stick with me after seeing what I am truly capable of. Unless he was crazy, and Hayden doesn't strike me as the crazy type.

“Malachi let go!!” Hayden exclaims in a harsh tone.

“No! You will leave me.” I tell him in a low, whiny moan.

I tried to suppress another whiny groan from escape me as Hayden fights to get free of my possessive hold on him; But, I still refuse to let him leave with that disobedient wolf. Because if I did, I know what would happen, Hayden would pick his friend over me because let's face it; I have known Hayden like what two a day and a half while Benjamin as known him all his life. They have history we don't, So how can I stand in the way of him supporting his friend?

Hayden put a bit more strength into his fight against me as he huffs out a sigh of frustration as the doctor along with Colton who assist in helping place Ben on the foldable Stretcher. Upon seeing this, Hayden harshly begins to tug at my arm while growling at me like a menace. Even though, I put up a decent fight, but Hayden's strength will over-powered me slowly depleting determination to keep him close. I Eventually give-up the losing battle of trying to keep him on trying bound to me as I release him.

As soon as he's free from my hold; he hurriedly run to Ben side, where he quickly secures his lifeless right hand into his trembling ones.

I feel the cold hands of fear dig their long claws deep into the back of my neck as Hayden hurriedly bolt from me and to his friend side.  I follow his hesitant movement as he secure his slightly trembling hands onto Ben's lifeless one's. Colton, helps the doctor; who I am assuming is doctor Myles lift Ben up off the floor while two other pack members I didn't notice were there to help lift Ben's dad up as well. With mournful eyes, I watch as my so-called mate pick the filth over me. Hayden quickly insist his self by Ben's side as the two men carrying the injured boy hurried out the door and is soon followed by the others carrying his unconscious dad.

Soon I am left rooted in the middle of the kitchen with my mom, Tommy, Hayden's mom and some old guy who was looking at me with blatant curiosity.  I didn't pay much attention to the weird old man who boreholes in the side of my head as I stare at Hayden's retreating form. The small group makes a left turn, where they soon disappear from my vision. Instantly, a distress mewl flees me as Alistair swiftly flood our already strained bond with waves of despair and need that calls out to our mate like a beacon.

Unfortunately, our despair increases as I feel Hayden begin to build a hard cement wall that separates Alistair and me from him. I try hopeless to mentally penetrate the thick cement that conceal my precious Hayden from me. But no matter how much effort I put into trying to destroy the barrier that stood between us;it only aid to strengthen the brainless thing. A heartbreaking whine bolt from me to echo around the silent room as I make a run for the back door. But before I could get to it; I am being pull into a bone rushing hug.

“It okay! Malachi, just allow Hayden to take care of his pack members” my dad coos as he gently rubs my back.

“No! James, he's blocking our link out” I shouted with anger as I ease away from his warm hug that was supposed to calm me.

“Maybe it's for the best because Alistair is quite a force” Lora replies jokingly. And I immediately turn my barbarous gaze on to my zealous mother.

“My Mate Is Blocking Me Out And You Think It's Best For Us” I growl with distaste. How could she say that? They are wolves for crying out loud; they know how important it's for a wolf to not be neglected by his mated, what Hayden did is just brutal.

“No, honey, that's not what I meant” Lora counters.

“Then please do tell me what exactly do you mean, Lora,” I urge with a slight bitterness.

“Hem.” Mary-lee clear her throat as she tries to defuse the imminent doom that's to come if Lora continues to piss me off.

“ Malachi, after what just happy, I think you should allow Hayden some space to wrap his head around all of this. Furthermore, I also think it important that we find out what you are, so we can prevent another outburst like this.” Mary-lee said in a gentle tone that seem to got through to Alistair and me as we slowly begin to calm down. Although, we still didn't feel at peace with Hayden shutting down our bond for his; own selfish reasons. I still manage to encourage Alistair to comply with our mother-in-law requests because let face it we have a soft place for the lady.

“Okay now that you seem a bit calmer; why don't we take thing discussion to the sitting room while the omegas clean up this mess.” Mary-lee concludes.

My body stiffens as I take a final glance around, the once beautiful kitchen is now a mess as the left door of the storage cabinet hung crookedly. While small puddles of blood rest in the spots that once occupied Ben and his dad. Even though, I'm in dismay at the sight of the damaged kitchen, I still couldn't muster up an ounce of mortification at the whole situation. I have absolutely no regret towards what I have done to Ben and his dad, nor do I feel any guilt. Come to think of it; it's the fact that my delicate mate had to witness such horrors; that's what really mortified me. It's not the fact that I might have killed Ben's dad while only injured his bitch of a son. No! No! No! My sole focus is my precious Hayden.

“I am just going to stay here and finish eating.” Tommy shouts from behind us.

“No, you come along; I don't think your belly can hold another bite” James shouts back at him. I hear a Huff of frustration before the screeching of the high stool as Tommy drag his lazy body off it. Immediately after, his heavy footsteps beat down onto the floor as he trails behind me; grumbling profundities. Tommy is never one to turn down food; not even if It's rain brimstone and fire, his food comes first. I shake my head at Tommy's attics as I follow the adults out of the kitchen and into the sitting room. I lazily take the empty couch as and the adults install their body in whatever seats available.

“Can't hold another bite my ass; I am still hungry” Tommy murmurs before dropping his heavy body next to me, upon hearing this a gentle smile tug onto my lips as I look at my greedy brother bicker over food.

“Okay, now that everybody is as comfortable as they are going to get, I would like to introduce someone to the high priest, elder Alden.” Mary-lee announces as the wrinkly old bag of dust raise his right arm slightly in a feeble wave.

The silver hair on top of the old man's head had thine severely, however, a slightly thick locks of hair went from one side of the man's temple to the next as it forms a perfect semicircle. Deep wrinkles swallow his forehead as a long salt and peppered unibrow stretch across the arch of his face. Just beneath his unibrow rest two sunken orbs with a thin gray circle around his once chocolate brown irises, his pupils look dilated. As my eyes trail down the beat up iron, he called a face; it landed on the fleshy nose that occupied the center of his face. Has his thin lips almost disappeared into his toothless cave, I feel sorry from the poor old man as I continue to observe his slowly deteriorating body. His barely functioning body could hardly hold on to his oversized robe as his long vampire fingers peek from underneath the sleeves of the pope like robe.

“This man is skin and bones! The moon goddess should just kill him and get it over with” Alistair ridicules the elderly man.

“Shut up” I bark at him, cause him to withers into his dark cave. He doesn't get to say shit, not after what he has cost us.

“ I'm assuming you remembered what me and my husband talk about last night about our special guest that were visiting us.” Mary-lee reminds as my attention quickly returns to the conversation.

“Yes, Luna,” the elder's voice rustles to life.

“So, what do you think?” Mary-lee finally ask.

“To be honest, Luna, I can't tell you want he is because I don't know. All my life I have never seen a mere wolf this powerful, he is stronger than Alpha but doesn't possess an ounce of Alpha blood in his veins.” The old man reply as he continues to study my ever move.

“However, I notice that his influence had no effected what's too ever on our young Alpha, why is that?” The old guy question.

“ They are mates” Mary-lee said with pride.

“Oh, I see, that makes sense.” The old guy says while lifting his left hand to caress his chin.

“So there's nothing you can tell us” James finally ask as his right foot bounce impatiently.

“James, I do have a theory, but I would prefer not to say right now.” The old man murmurs.

“Why not?” I snare at him.

“Because I don't think it is accurate information. However, if you allow me to study you, I might be able to provide you with some answers.” The old man says with a smile.

“Okay, fine,” I agree.

“Great, if I may advise you on something, young Luna?” The old man says to me, which cause Tommy to burst into a fit of laughter as he continuously repeats the phase “young Luna”.

“I am no Luna, but you may advise” I tell the bag of bones.

“Please try to keep your powers under control because many wolves and Alpha will not see this as a strength but as a threat.”  Elder Alden advice.

Author's Notes.

On a good day, I produce a great chapter, but they will still have errors until I have proofread them. Ugh! Man, it's hard to write a chapter if you don't have all the right ingredients, and even when you have the correct ingredients; you still make stupid little mistakes like grammar error or typos. It gets frustrating at times, but I will not give up because I have too many loyal readers who invested in the story and want to see the ending; so I'll continue to fight the good fight.

Now that I have completed my little melt down, sigh, so you know how I am with my little motion that everything has to be even no matter what, hence why there is other part for Malachi. Furthermore, I would like to ask you ask for a favor, if you could just please take the time out to comment what you think about the story so far or what I am doing wrong. This will help me to improve on my craft. Pretty please 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏.

Positive messages.

(First, they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.)
