Hayden's P.O.V.
I had been to elder Alden's home maybe once or twice, so I knew it was on half-hour journey. Hence, why I made the bold suggestion of taking my car because it would've saved us at least fifteen minutes or more. But Malachi being the arrogance ass he is ignored my wise suggestion as he quickened his long stride. I hopelessly tried to keep up with his swift movements, but I ended up falling short as I stumbled behind him. Not only couldn't I keep up with Malachi's increasing speed, but every time I utter a single word or even try to form a question, he didn't hesitate to let out a growl of annoyance at me.
“Why did we even come with him?, it's obvious he hates us.” I question zameir through our mind link.
“It's because mom wants to fix things, like she always does.” Zameir groans out before quickly following with a question,“ do you really think our mate hate us?” Zameir whines out.
Does Malachi hate us? I repeat Zameir question on a loop in my head as I keep my mindless trailing behind our mate. I know he's upset with us for neglecting him, but I don't think he hates us; I think. During this walk, he hasn't glanced or sneak a peek at me once, he has kept his head straight a head and stubbornly held on to his silence. However, even time I stumbled over a misplaced rock or release a sigh of frustration,
I would feel a tiny burst of electricity buzz on the surface of my skin before it light tap on our bond as it creates a warm flutter feeling inside my stomach. But even with all of this, his actions towards me speaks differently, so I don't know if he hates us.
“I don't know.” I finally answered zameir questions as truthful as possible.
However, zameir wasn't please with the answer I had provided him with as he angrily releases a sharp tug of frustration on our bond with Malachi, which in turns causes him to trip up in his steps. I attempted to run to his aid, but I stop mid-step by the loud growl of “don't” that blasts out from zameir in a wave of anger. My body becomes chill by zameir icy detach voice that immediately render me frozen in my spot; as my eyes swiftly analyze his body language for any signs of hurt as he quickly regains his posture before continuing his long strides. And I in turn resume my feeble, trailing behind him.
Despite the little mishap with Malachi almost falling first on the ground, it doesn't take long before we're walking up the narrow driveway to the small house. It isn't as big as mine, but it's big enough for elder Alden, and his small family. Which consists of his son (Joan) and his wife (Kerri) along with their twin sons (Cecil) who's one of my closest friends and (Will) my enemy for all good reasons.
Anyway, the house is just on average home, there's nothing extraordinary about it. To me, it's just a basic countryside house with a shit brown exterior; like who use that color on the outside of their house, I guess only elder Alden would do something so stupid. And the overly obnoxious lime roofing just stood out like a sore thumb. There's only one good thing about this house that actually appeal to me, and it's the gorgeous flower bed that was Alden late wife's pride and joy.
I remember how much time she would be spent in her little garden when I was a Chile. Immediately, fond memories of me and Mrs. Ranges along with her grandson Cecil begin to flood my mind as I stare at the stunning collection of tulips, dahlias and my favorite cyclamens. These cyclamens are me favorite flower because it was planted and nurtured by me and Cecil. This beautiful creation nested on the left-side of the porch, I could help the smile that put on my lips when I think of Mrs. Ranges, she was the one good thing about elder Alden I didn't hate.
I was so captivated by the stupendous collection and my roaming thoughts that I don't realize I am standing on the porch until I hear the ringing of the doorbell; which quickly draw my from my thoughts as I cast my eyes on the old wooden door that's eagerly being open my an overly enthusiastic Will.
“Hi, sexy!” Will breaths in a disgustingly flirtatious voice that immediately put my on edge, which in turns cause a threatening growl to roll from my throat and out my lips. As I quickly walk the short distance to press my body up against my mate possessively, I can already hear the possessive chants of “mine” that zameir murmur through our telepathy link.
“Hi, Will.” Malachi says with a way too polite greeting, however his stupid pleasantries to the little man stealing bitch only aids in aggravating me more.
“I see you brought haydan.” Will says while open the door wide so Malachi, and I can enter the house; however, I try my best to stick as close to Malachi as he would allow me to.
“It's Hayden, not Haydan, William.” I correct through clench teeth.
“What's the difference?” I retaliate.
“You know what fuc---” I try to say, but I interrupted by Malachi; who asks where the old man his.
“I can take you to grandad, Mal.” Will eagerly says as he quickly wrap his left arm around my mate right bicep. Which in turns instantly cause a burst of unfamiliar rage to boil in my veins as I stare at the taunting tool that's carelessly wrap around what's mine. However, the blind rage that keeps building in me is immediately damper as Malachi sneak a glance at me before he mouths a quiet calm down to me as he harshly drags his bicep from the grubby like man whore, who gasp in shock.
“Will, you know how I feel about you touching me, just lead the way, and we will follow” Malachi says dryly.
“Okay, fine! Follow me” will says with utter disappointment.
We followed behind Will, who lead us through the poorly decorated house and to a small study that's no bigger than a tiny closet; I might be overly exaggerating things a tad bit; but I don't like Alden, so oh-well. Anyway, has expected, we found the old man sitting around a desk with his nose buried deep in a book that had a badly written Latin title embedded on the cover; which read “Entia lunae deae et naturalis statera”. Even though, my Latin is perfect my translation is shit, the only thing I got from the weirdly scribbled word were something about “being of moon and natural balance” at least that's what I think it reads.
“Papa, Malachi is here, and he brought, haydan.” Will says in a taunting voice that immediately pulling a growl from me as I openly glare at the bastard. It now secret that will and I have some bad blood that only seems to get even more tainted as time passes by.
“Alpha, Hayden, it is a pleasure to have you in my home. Oh, please have a seat wherever you like, Alpha.” Alden tries to butter me up as he swiftly stands to his feet. However, after that long walk to the outskirt of the forest, there's no way I am going to refuse his kind pleasantries he's offering me.
“Thank you.” I murmur out as I lazily sit down on the uncomfortable leather coach.
“Alpha, I think you should know that Cecil got back home yesterday for his trip, although it's proven fruitless. He is still happy to be home” Alden informs me.
It's nice to know that Cecil is finally back from his trip after being gone for so long. Next to Benjamin, Cecil's one of my closest friend but seen recently he has been set on a mission to find his mate, so he's been visiting various packs with the hopes that his mate is among the pack members. So, it is safe to say that There's only one family member from this family that I like. Well, it used to be two be one's dead, so now I am left with only Cecil, The rest I just can't stand, to say I am excited to see my friend is on understatement.
My head quickly turns to Malachi, who's about to take the seat at the far end of the coach, a deep frown instantly form on my lips as he sits. Even though, his open rejection of me cause my heart to sink into my stomach at the amount of space that stretch out between us. I can't ignore the distance Malachi is creating between us, so I take the initiative to scoot closer to him; but before I can get close to my mate; Will takes the space between us as an invitation. Has he quickly secure the seat in the middle just before he scoots a little too close to my mate for my liking.
“Mine!.” I growl through clench teeth as a quickly bare my canine to the man whore, who latch onto my man like a leech.
“Will, go get Cecil, I think Alpha Hayden will like to see his friend” Alden quickly suggested as he tries to defuse the rapidly growing tension.
“But--” will try to say.
“No buts” the old man insists. With an extravagant sigh of frustration, will sluggishly drag himself away from Malachi and out the room.
“Sorry about that Alpha, you know how will is.” Elder Alden attempt to explain. But there was no need for that, I already know what an asshole William can be.
“Uh-huh, it's fine.” I reply.
Subsequently, I spent Almost any hour watch Malachi and the old man discuss various thing that doesn't sound like anything related to Malachi's conditions. The more I sit and listen to the incompetent old man, the more I realize that he did know much about anything. For one, he has no clue what Malachi is or even how to figure it out; however, there's one aspect of their conversation that caught my attention. In fact, it intrigued me deeply when the old man suggested that, Malachi and I need to completely the mating bond. Even though, we weren't ready for sex just let; it didn't mean that I didn't want to try other stuff with Malachi.
I can already feel the warm heat that spreads across my cheeks as Alden dives into the topic of mate and the benefits it might have for Malachi if we did. Being as he doesn't know what a strong bond like the mating bond with affect him. The more the conversation stretch, the more I got uncomfortable in my seat. To the point where I found myself fight against my arousal as I try desperately to disguise it, while I pray to the moon goddess for Cecil to hurry and get his butt down here; knowing will, he probably did tell my friend I was here.
Even so, it wasn't the possibility of mating soon rather than later that made me uncomfortable; it's the fact that zameir heard the word mating and decided to flood my mind with images of me and Malachi lock together in a passionate rhythm. A cluster of images of Malachi spreading me wide open as he enters my tightly clench hole with so much tenderness I can practically feel him penetrating me. I can feel myself begin to swell in my pants as I take sly glances at Malachi; who's openly sniffing the air. His head quickly tilt toward me as he takes a big whiff of me, which causes his orbs to flash a bright yellow as he quickly scoots a little farther from me.
“He's rejecting me!” I thought to myself as the blood begins to rush in my ears.
