CHAPTER 99: PREPARATION (1)

"About the reason your emblem chain cracks… It's because I almost died from the curse Revioryx put on me. So, the meaning is, if I die, everyone will lose their stellar powers. It sucks, doesn't it?"

Everyone stared at him with eyes that slowly widened. Then, screams of 'what' or 'what the hell' were heard loudly in the room after a second had passed. The sound of falling and dragging of chairs also was heard, along with the screams.

Kairi just smiled at them. "But don't worry. Since Angelote had helped me remove the curse, I am fine now."

"Your Majesty, I think I disagree with you for following the rescue team," Auriga said to him.

"That's right, Your Majesty! Please don't leave!" Some others also beg him.

Kairi suddenly felt deja vu but it seems they were just worried about him. He sighed.

"I told you, don't worry about it. Even if I got into an accident and it kills me, your power emblem will no longer break anymore. That's because..." He turned his head to Aries softly.

"My queen is pregnant with my child and your next successor."

Another silent moment happened in the chamber. They were surprised that Aries was pregnant now. Even Aries herself was in a stupor. She slowly moved her hands to her stomach. She was startled by another hand being put on her. The hand belonged to Kairi and he was looking at her so happy.

"Wait a minute! Your Majesty, please don't joke around with your life!" Agi told him with a serious expression.

He disliked hearing such sentences. It was like Kairi would die and they were forced by him to protect his child.

"He's right! Please don't say this again." Rafiz stared at Kairi with anger.

Not just him, everyone there had the same expression. Kairi felt very comforted by their caring for his life. However, he still shows them a sad smile.

"I might not live more than five years." He told them slowly.


Everyone gasped at his honesty. Aries turned to him with a panicked disbelief expression.

"You said you can live longer!" She telepathy him in a heartbreaking voice.

"I'm sorry... I just feel that is how long I can live."

Rafiz grits his teeth hard. "Ziphoteninx, Kironinx!" He called in a shout.

Both wolves appeared above Kairi with calm expressions.

"To answer your silent question, yes, we have known this." Ziphoteninx didn't let Rafiz ask more and told them the truth.

"You, you guys keep silent about it all these times?! Why?!" Rafiz was truly upset and his body was trembling because of it.

"Please don't be angry, Rafiz. I am the one who didn't want anyone to know about it."

"Your Majesty... Why didn't you tell us earlier...?" Virgo had red eyes while holding his tears.

Their king or leader was going to die. Who wouldn't be sad about it?

Everyone from Bright Star users was looking at their king with a grievance. Some even began to sniff and sob.

Kairi faces them one by one. "I don't want to tell you yet until I find a solution to live. I predict I might have died in a year if the curse was still on me."

Such a truth once again makes them heartbroken. Gemini has tears flowing from his eyes. He was, after all, a living being combined with two souls…

Two children souls who couldn't take this sad moment.

"That is why I rush us to gather all the Bright Star users and hope we can defeat Revioryx before my time is up. Yet, fate still gives me some chance to live although I might die soon. At least I am still here until then. Please don't be sad. I am telling you now about it so you can be prepared and... Hopefully, you all can protect my queen and my child if I die."

"Kairi..." Aries took one of his hands and gripped it.

Kairi returned the grip too and softly kissed her forehead.

"I will try my best not to die." He telepathy her.

Aries nodded slowly with tears that escaped her eyes. Kairi gently wiped her tears and kissed her lips before he looked at them all again.

"My child will be your last chance to survive if things go wrong and I die before we can defeat Revioryx. Therefore, I hope that everyone here can protect my queen and my child with your lives. Can you do that?" Kairi asked them.

Everyone could no longer find a word to say and slowly nodded their heads to him.

"Thank you," Kairi said to them before his eyes turned sharp.

"Like I said, I might die or some of us too actually. Still, we decide our own destiny. I have no intention of dying early and I will not surrender to Revioryx without doing anything! All my powers will be used to defeat him! And this is my instruction to you too. Don't die! Even if you are incapacitated, don't give up! You have to believe in yourself more than anything. Don't die no matter what your condition is! Do you understand?!"

He doesn't want to see anyone die later. Everyone was surprised by his sentences. They finally could let go of their grievances for a moment and realise that Kairi cares about their life too. Some people slowly smiled and became more fired up by his words.

"Of course! Who wants to die? If the world has Revioryx no more, I'm willing to do whatever you ask, Your Majesty. Don't worry, not one of us would think of dying before we beat his ass." Dark Kage smirk.

"Truthfully, I hate you so much, Your Majesty. But since you are dying, I no longer feel any hatred toward you." Dark Howlan said his point.

Some glared at him, but his call to Kairi with some respect subsided their anger a little.

"What? I still wish Your Majesty lived longer, of course. I want Revioryx to die more than my hate for him."

Cetus stood up from his chair and looked at him.

"Heh! I agree with your last sentences. However, I truly don't like you..." He told him with narrowed eyes.

"I feel the same way." Dark Howlan glared at him.

He still had a grudge against this brat for locking him in the power of gravity before.

"Heh! You still can't beat me, Columba."

"Want to challenge me, Cetus? Let's see if you can win with the new power I have," Dark Howlan cracked his hands.

He has also got his real power from his real Stellar Spirit beast, Columba. This was all thanks to Kairi, who dumped him in front of a dark monster that ate his spirit beast. Luckily, he managed to defeat it and release Columba. By rescuing him, Columba gives his powers to Dark Howlan.

"Sigh... You two, before you start a match here, please wait until the meeting is over. Your Majesty, I think some of us need to release some steam. Is that okay?" Agi asked Kairi while stopping the argument between Cetus and Dark Howlan.

"Sure. Just make sure no one dies. Ziphoteninx, Kironinx, please keep an eye on them."

Kairi gave his permission because he was sure they all couldn't bear anymore to sit together in this room.

"Okay," Ziphoteninx and Kironinx nodded.

"Aquarius, Pisces, Undria, please make sure they don't use their power excessively. I don't want you all to be tired in the next two days." Kairi was still considered to have them in good condition.

"Understood, Your Majesty!" The three replied to him.

Kairi understood their tension and Agi's suggestion truly was the best option for them. He could see everyone was glad to hear it. Some of them already seemed to have chosen their opponents.

"Oh, right. Don't you destroy this place either. Go fight outside Antonia or in the knight headquarters training arena. If I saw some property being damaged, I would punish you severely." He warned them.

A moment later, he sighed because some of them didn't seem to hear him anymore. Instead, they were checking their opponent's strength.

"All right, before you all disperse. Don't forget your main responsibility is to keep your queen safe. Besides, it's not just my queen you need to keep a lookout, Perseus and Lyra also need your attention."

"Huh?" Lyra doesn't understand why she was included in the protection.

Everyone looked at her, then at Kairi again with a question mark.

"Lyra, you haven't realised it yet? You're actually pregnant." Kairi announced.

Aquila and everyone were shocked to hear it.

"Eh, what?! Really, Lyra?!" Aquila turned to his wife in surprise.

He also felt a slight fear to be a father so suddenly but the fear turned to happiness. He finally had a child with his most loved one.

"How should I know… Your Majesty, I don't feel anything. How can you know I'm pregnant?" Lyra asked Kairi with a slight trembling.

She felt she was not ready to be a mother. In fact, she knew nothing like a mother would be. Kairi smiled at her and hugged Aries' side as he looked at her.

"It's the same way I know my queen is pregnant. I can feel a new life in her body and now your body too, Lyra. You may not realise it but now that you know... Aquila, I will give you a task to make sure they are always in a safe place. Your power is needed."

Aquila bowed to him. "I follow your order, Your Majesty."

He promises to keep them safe with his life on the line. Leo and Perseus looked at each other. Leo was relieved for Kairi's attention to his wife's safety too. Perseus who understood him pat his hand.

"Urgh... You all chose the wrong time to have children." Someone groans.
