Eve's POV










"Why is daddy not happy about our arrival? Is this the expression he gave when he saw you? Or is it just me?" Mark asked his brother, Liam.




"No Mark, it's not just you. I think Daddy wants us to live elsewhere. It's probably time for you to inherit one of houses while I move to mine" Liam answered sarcastically.




"No, no Guys... I ermm" Their father scratched his head.




"I... I..take my leave now" I stuttered, taking my stuff and new phone from the couch.




"You see, she's not leaving," Liam said just when I was about to climb the stairs.




"Sorry" I murmured because I didn't know what to say.




With the look of things, I think I'm becoming a big burden to this family, especially to Mr. Maya's children, my stepsons.

"Mark are we gonna keep standing here like we are strangers in our own house?"Liam questioned his brother.




" Ohh" He pulled his heavy bag off his shoulder and leaned it on a couch.




Then took his seat... while his brother was about to go to his room.




"Dad is there something you are hiding from us?"Mark asked his father, who was still dumbfounded.




" Besides who is that girl? What's her labor position?" He asked.




"Looks like father is gonna get married very soon" Liam laughed and return to sit in the living room..to listen to whatever excuse their father is gonna give.. and to know if what Eve said to him this morning is true.




"Really Dad? Are you considering getting married again?"




"Uhm..." His father muttered.




"Why are you silent about it? It's good news. Although Liam and I are grown up, we want you to have a life partner and disengage from having whores. STDs are real for crying out loud. Besides, we need a stepmom too. We need that motherly love again..we need someone to call 'Our Mom' again" Mark said.




"What on earth Mark?"




"What, Liam? You don't want it?" He asked him.




"Mark you won't even like to know who Dad is married to.."




"Dad has remarried? But you just said he is about to get married?"




"Ugh! That was a slip of tongue. Dad is already married... He made use of our absence to do something unreasonable " Liam simpered.




"What do you mean unreasonable? Oh because he didn't inform us about it first... Anyway, Dad, Your apology is accepted, I don't get why Liam is making a fuss about it though. Wait is it true you are married? To who? Where is she?" Mark questioned.




Liam laughed again...




"Okay Dad say something already!" Liam raised his voice.




"Liam!" His father scolded him.




"Dad, what Liam said, is that true?"




"Uhm... Yes, Mark. That's right"




"Wahoo " Mark exclaimed."I'm happy for you Daddy" He added and his Dad gave a small smile.




"So it is true?"Liam shook his head in negation.




"What do you mean it's true? I don't get what's happening here? Were you not the one who told me about it.." Mark was confused.




"That girl can't be your new wife!" Liam said.




"What girl?" Mark asked.




"There is nothing wrong about it Liam. Will you go out there and find a woman for your father? Older women are scums.." His father tried to justify himself.










"What a lame reason. You rather remain single.. instead of child-abusing a young girl and calling it 'marriage'" Liam stood up and fired at his father.




"Watch what you say, Liam! I am still your father, your opinion about what I decide to do does not matter" His father yelled at him.




Mark stood up and stayed in between them.




"Okay okay... What exactly is going on here?"




"Dad's prick has made him go insane!" Liam remarked.










"Do you want to be grounded at your age? No grounded is not enough, how about I lock you up somewhere or I can even disown you or you go spend your vacation at your place!" His father warned him.




Liam is one adamant son, apart from his arrogant attitude, he doesn't care how old you are, or whatever excuse you may have, he fights for what's right and how things are meant to be.




"Hypertension is real," Mark said to them




He studies medicine, obsessed with his course and it's making him use health terms.










"Wait a minute




Is it the young girl I met earlier? Is that your new wife? Our new stepmom?" He asked because he didn't want to believe that.




"Now you get why I said Dad is not being reasonable at all. Mark, you need to stop being so mild. We need to speak senses into Dad's ears or he will do something even worst because of stupid s*xual stimulation. No what's more worst than this? Mark we might have to put pills in his food to make him sleep and cut off his d*ck" Liam said and Mark chuckled.




"No, Dad can't be serious about being married to that young girl" Mark shook his head.




"Damn Mark! you are just too mild" Liam said and stamped his feet on the stairs as he left the living room.










"Mark, you are far better than your older brother, Liam. You are more understanding..you ..." Mr. Maya said, coming closer to his son.




"No don't say that. There is nothing understandable about the action you just took which we are so not in support"




"Mark don't be like Liam!"




Mark scoffed; "What are you gonna do? disown us? You know you can't do that. You know what Daddy, you should rather go get STDs out there than abuse that girl. No, what is that girl even thinking? Dad, I know you are cunny, what did you do to make the girl agree to be with you?" "Jeez, I thought she was a new worker. You can't be with that young girl " He shook his head and carried his bag.




"Mark!"




"Be reasonable Dad, I support Liam"




"No, you two are disrespectful and you are getting it all wrong"




"Hmmm, we might really have to cut off your libido" Mark said and walked away too.




"Arrrrrgh!!! People say your own children are the scariest. They are not wrong" Mr. Maya growled angrily.

He slightly opened the door to his brother's room and peeped through. Liam was busy with his laptop but looks like he was still boiling in angry over the stupid action their Dad has taken. He suddenly caught Mark peeping at him.




"What is it? Come in if you want to" Liam told him and Mark smiled and walked in... Then sat on a comfy small couch.




"Uhm... Liam? How about I call a meeting?"




"What meeting are you talking about Mark?"




"A family meeting of course. Dad, You, I, and the young girl. What's her name?" He asked his brother.




"I don't remember and don't do anything stupid Mark" Liam cautioned and he scoffed.




"I won't. I just want to get things settled here" He said and stood up.




"I found out that her room is opposite yours"




"Whatever"




"I'll like to hear her own side of the story" Mark said already walking to the door.




"Are you a judge or what? No, you can't even be one because you are taking the issue too lightly. Who knows, Dad can easily bribe you and you would support him in having someone you are older than as your stepmom. Ew" Liam remarked and his brother giggled.




"No way " He giggled and left the room for Eve's.
