He was about to continue with what he was saying but his phone suddenly rang - cutting him off. He picked it up and smiled when he glimpsed at who was calling him. 




    ~ "Hello love" He said as soon as he swiped right to the receiver.




    His Girlfriend! Why not? Or who else could he refer to as 'Love'? He can't be gay.




    He smiled and hopped down from the table he was initially sitting on..then he moved around while listening to the lady's responses which I couldn't hear.




    




   ~ "I have been trying to get to you; I came to your place yesterday to check up on you too. What's going on Clara?" He said... 




    Aww so Clara is the girl's name and looks like he's drunk in love with her because he didn't notice my presence anymore, he was just perambulating and picking up random objects, pretending to himself that he was admiring those objects.. while he was gleaming and smiling on the outside.




   ~ "Oh" He mouthed.




  ~ "Guess what babe?" He told Clara.




    ~"I'm back!"He announced to her.




    




    I chuckled; wished could hear what she is saying. No, I'm not tryna poke nose here.




    




    ~"Yes I'm back love. Can we meet today? I have missed you so much"




    I rolled my eyes; do long-distance relationships still exist? Well if both of them truly love and trust each other, it's very possible.




  




    ~"I'm in the office"




    ~"Yeah I resumed today"




    ~"Are you at home right now? should I pick you up and treat you for lunch? There's a lot of things for us to catch up with you know.., I might even spend the whole day with you" He wouldn't stop smiling.. even his cheeks turned red.




    




  ~ "Oh" He suddenly stopped smiling and bit his finger.




   ~ "No, It's alright, I understand dear. I just can not wait to meet you already. It's been a long time you know" He said, the enthusiasm suddenly reduced and he frowned abit.




    ~"Tomorrow Clara, what about tomorrow?" He asked.




    




    ~"Okay. Tomorrow it is... Good it's Saturday even if it's not, I'll definitely take a break from work because of you " He began to smile again.




   ~"Bye love. See you tomorrow" 




    




He hung the call, glared at his phone screen again, and exclaimed; "Yes! Yes" He rejoiced; overwhelmingly.




    I was still standing there, but now behind him... When he turned around, he freaked out as soon as he saw me.




    "What are you still doing here?" Liam asked me.




    "We are not done and you didn't tell me to leave" I answered him innocently.




    He folded his arm, gawking at me as if I have a hidden agenda. 




    "Leave" That was the only thing he said.




    "Okay" I walked out of his office; but before I finally stepped out... I could sense him jubilating again.




    He must really be into her; I could discern love all over him.

    I sat down on my seat, ~ in my office... I made sure I managed to go through all the books and manuscripts Liam gave to me earlier.




   "Isn't it time to take a break yet?" I wearily glanced at the wall on the clock. Okay, Just one more hour to go.




    "Hey Eve" A worker (I've forgotten her name), she briefly greeted me as she headed to Liam's office.




    "Please bring it here. Give it to me" I told her; referring to the file she was holding.




    "Oh, why? It's for Mr.Liam"




    "Yeah I know. He's expecting some files and ordered me to compile everything or is this one personal?" I asked her.




    "No at all. Here you have it, you are the secretary here after all" She came to give me the files then she left.




    




    I peered at it like an illiterate, then I switched on the computer. Yeah, I already read the handout he gave to me... I figured out that Iam meant to save every hardcopy document given to me in a software format, just in case of necessity.




    




 I wasn't done typing the document when another lady walked by and she was also heading to Liam's office.




    "Wait!" I stopped her.




   That was when she even noticed my presence.




    "Who are you?" She asked me.




    I stood up and smiled..."Of course; the new secretary. Eve" I told her. Was she not at the meeting this morning? or is she not a worker here? 




    Although she was dressed more elegantly and was carrying a posh bag to fit.




    "Oh you are a new worker" She remarked then continue heading to the office.




    "Please stop right there!" I said again but this time, it sounds more like an order. Of course, it's an indirect decree from Liam himself.




    




    I went to meet her and obstructed her way.




    "Looks like it's a personal work matter" I said.




    "Yes, I need to see Liam, why won't you let me go in?" She asked.




    "Uhm.. stay right here... I'll go in now to let him know you want to see him and if he says..."




    




    Liam interrupted me as he rushed out.




    "Clara, Clara" He called her name.




    What? Is her name, Clara? Isn't that the name of his girlfriend? Wait, is she the one? Jeez.




    "Clara" Liam hit me aside as he ran to hug her passionately.




    




    Uhnn... I swear I didn't know she was his girlfriend, I was only following his orders.

Eve's POV
   Rather than to apologize, What else can I do?
    I bow my head a little and told them that I am sorry but looks like, they didn't have my time.
    I let them be then I returned to my seat...trying to concentrate on the monitor but Liam and Clara were still right there, embracing themselves inseparably.
    "Come on" It was Clara who disengaged from him first.
    "Didn't you say that you were busy and I shouldn't come see you yet?"Liam asked her and she smiled and tucked the fallen hair strand to the back of her ear.
    " Just because.. I wanted to give you a surprise" Clara responded. 
    Liam wouldn't stopped smiling, he held her hand and intertwined it with his.
    "Look at you Clara, you are looking so pretty, I just can't believe that you look really different and I...I.."He covered his mouth in astonishment... Sweet words couldn't describe how he felt at that now. He just wanted to be in her arms again.
    " You are not looking bad as well Liam.." Clara blushed.
    "Oh, My bad! Come on in Babe" Liam led her the way into his office.
    I gasped... " Time to continue working" I told myself, then I resumed typing...
   After a while, Liam and his girlfriend came outside, locked arms, laughing and they were happy.. I have never seen Liam this way because he acts like an arrogant scorner.
    Liam locked his door, and as soon as they were beyond my sight. I sighed feeling free : I mean Liam is not gonna monitor me through his glass window anymore.
    I quit typing, closed the files and rested my head on the table.
    "Knock, knock" Someone suddenly knocked on my table..
    Geez
    "I am so sorry again.." I began to apologise even before looking up to see who it was. (I thought it was Liam)
    Oh George.
    "George right? what are you doing here again? " I almost shouted at him but he chuckled and adjusted his eye-glasses.
    "It's recess this time" He said.
    "Oh it is?"
    "Yeah" He showed me his wristwatch.
    I gleamed as I unzipped my purse to check if the credit card, Mr Maya gave to me the other time is still with me. I found it.
    "Mr Liam is away with his girlfriend " George said and I nodded..
   I was already getting ready to leave the office when two staffs came in.. The other lady that gave me a file and another lady.
    "Our usual cafeteria is only few distance away, let's go have our lunch together. I am inviting you" The lady proposed.
    "I was gonna take here there just before you guys came" George said and the other lady smirked.
    "I need to kill this starvation and fatigue already " I told them, picking up my purse and they led the way.
