Chapter 14

I left her apartment and, found myself going back to my pack, I needed to formulate a plan to find my Luna and bring her home before anyone else claimed her. I stepped into my private Jet, Mark met me there, he had a smirk on his face that I really did not want to see right now. I could not contain myself anymore, I lunged for him, and started to beat his face in.
“Shaemus! What the fuck!”
“That is Alpha to you! Tell you did not do it?!”
“What has gotten into you!” Other pack members who had come along with were approaching us carefully
"Tell Me! You did not nearly kill an innocent girl in college! Then, lie to all of us saying that it was a rogue attack!”
“you don’t understand, she’s a pathetic human whore!” I growled at him, his words were confirmation. I started hitting him again!
“No, you do not date a girl, and even get engaged to someone, then try to kill them! I do not give a shit if you found out Shelly was your mate! That is not how it is done!”
“What was I supposed to do? Turn her the wretch?”
“You have no idea, what you have done!”
I turn to my Gamma “Throw him in the dungeon when we get home and prepare ourselves for war”
“Over a pathetic HUMAN Freak!” Mark screamed
“That girl is my MATE!!! Have care what you say, you know nothing! We prepare for war just in case. I intend to find her before anyone else does!”
My Gamma stood by my side as they hauled Mark away in shackles
“Alpha, what is coming?”
“My mate, I found her, she is beautiful but, troublesome, I learned today she used to be good, and pure until Mark destroyed her now, her heart is filled with bitterness and pain. I also learned something secret about her, she does not realize herself, and we are preparing against Hades. She was born his bride until someone sent her into hiding and her world burned. If he finds out that his betrothed was nearly killed by my Beta, he will kill us all. Be ready”
The Gamma looked pale with fear. We have heard of Hades, everyone, even human have heard of Hades. The fact that my mate is his born destined bride makes it worse.
My jet touched down onto the landing platform, and as soon as the plane had stopped. I stepped out and met my Gamma and Delta outside on the platform.
They greeted me as their Alpha, my driver brought the car around, we all stepped into the Audi SQ7. On the drive home I informed everyone about how the meeting took place, and I would need a new Beta. Everyone had somber expressions, and some were disbelief at the news. Overall we did not know what to do with he information that we learned about him.
My omega driver Stephan pulled up to the pack house, and we all exited the car. I walked through the doors. Amongst the chaos I completely forgot about Paris my mistress. She has been my best friend for years. After going to more than five mating balls, and never finding my mate. She agreed to become my Luna. Her mate was killed in battle, and she was sure she’d never find another mate.
She lost her mate and her unborn during that fight, she was hiding, minding the children when the rogues attacked her area. She was forced to protect the children, not being able to shift, they ravaged here, and beat her bloody. She fought and protected the children while the cost was her own.
She did not have the strength to attempt finding another goddess destined mate. It is so rare to find a second change mate ordained by the goddess. So, we’ve been best friends, and chosen mates since. We were supposed to have our mating ceremony next month. How am I going to tell her I found my mate and she’s not even a wolf? How will she even react?
She approached me, wrapped her arms around me and for the first time ever, my wolf was repulsed by her. I nicely declined her offer of affection. When she persisted, my wolf stepped in and startled her. She backed away, not understanding what had changed. I knew one thing for sure, my wolf would not welcome her into our bed. Especially after we had already tasted the sweet ecstasy of our mate. My wolf shuddered in delight at the thought of it. He was so anxious to see Velaria again, he was restless to see her again.
“Shaemus, what did I do wrong?” she asked in a hurt tone
I hung my head and assured her it was nothing she did wrong, something has changed, something has happened that I was not expecting.
“You met your destined mate didn’t you” she said in a low voice, pain and loneliness echoing in her voice and thoughts.
I nodded my head “I never expected it to happen, I met her at a club, and what is more incredible is she is the owner of the company I was supposed to have a meeting with” I told her in a somber voice. Nothing that happened was expected.
“Where is she?”
“That is tricky, and by the way, you have your brother Mark to thank for that one” I snarled at her. She looked horrified
“What happened? I mean, I do want to be with you but, I would be a fool to stand against Selene” She said in a hurt voice
“Did your brother ever get engaged in college?”
My words make her wheel around in shock, she had been standing in front of the kitchen counter about to open a bottle of Pepsi. She now had a haunted look on her face.
“Yes, my parents did not agree with it. We all thought she was a human toy that was stringing him alone and away from his destined mate from the goddess. She seemed innocent but, there was something different about her. We could tell she was not a wolf; we were not sure what she was, my brother feared she was a witch. My father hates witches. So, my father told Mark to rid himself of her before she cursed the family. When he came home, and told everyone it was a rogue attack, we knew better, my father had intended for him to dump her not murder her. I guess good riddance though” she said nonchalantly. I roared in fury, and she fell backwards in fear.
“That “witch” as you call her, is my mate, and she actually is a shifter, from any ancient clan, one of the last of her kind, you’re no better than your filthy brother! To think I was going to mate with you!” I snarled at her.
Her eyes are wide with pain and fear as she heard my words. I mind linked her parents to come to the packhouse immediately. I meet them outside, and I also mind link other members of my high-ranking wolves to witness my judgement. I will not have cruelty in my pack. I will never be my father! If he were still in charge, the omegas would be slaves, the young ones for house chores, the attractive ones were toys for the bedroom. Used to make me sick, after he lost his Alpha title to me, I rid the pack of his filth.
It breaks my heart to see Mr. Ellis is just like him. My father would have either killed Velaria or used her for his own gain. If he found out what I know, he would have forced me to accept her regardless of if we were destined together.
“You and your family have doomed as all!” I snarled at them; how could they be so heartless? “Velaria lived through the assault that Mark did to her, barely with her life intact years ago.”
Mr. Ellis looked pale, and his eyes were enraged “I have learned from someone close to her, she is a shifter. She is not a wolf, and a witch like you assumed. She is something else much more ancient. She ended up here under unfortunate circumstances.” I roar at them “It so happens that she is destined to be my mate, and I will not give her up, I will find her and claim her!”
“Alpha, let the witch go, if she is not truly yours” Mr. Ellis said with a scowl
“Did you not hear me! She is not a witch, and she is my goddess given MATE! I have waited too long to find her, to let her go now! You and your family are banished from my pack, for condoning the attempted murder of your future Luna”
They screamed and thrashed. Mr. Ellis shifted and charged at me in fury. I punched him right in the mouth and sent him flying into a tree. I ordered the guards to remove them from my pack. I know for a fact that if she did show up, I feel it in my bones, they would only try to hurt her again. I will not take that risk.
“Find me someone else as Beta!” I snarl at the pack members standing around.
“Alpha, Mark has been grooming to be Beta his entire life? It’s in his blood? How can we replace him?” One of the pack members told me.
“Very well, we will have the Warriors challenge, every eligible wolf in the region may step up and face three challenges to earn the rank of Beta. We will discuss this more and have the trials after I come back from my trip.” My gamma nodded. I turned to him and my enforcer.
“Right now, give Mark fifty lashes and exile him from his pack with his horrid family!” My Enforcer Xavier bowed then ran to the dungeons.
He seemed really excited to carry it out. I could hear Marks confusion and screams which were music to my ears. If I had met her back then, if he had brought her home here, so much would be different. The fact that he actually tried to kill her and cover it up is another level of what burns the rage inside of me. Not even humans would tolerate that so, why should I?
My Gamma Hector stopped me with a puzzled look “Alpha, you have only just returned, where are you going?”
I gave him a sly grin “France, I have a game of chase my wolf and I are going to play, it’s called ‘catch the Luna’ I said with a smile as I entered my jet again.
My Gamma called to me, and asked if this was the right choice. I scoffed and replied to him “We’re wolves Hector, we love a good game of chase” I said with a mischievous grin as I prepared the plan for takeoff. I am coming my little fire cracker, try to outrun me
