Chapter 30
I looked around and all the other pack members where looking at me in rage. I saw some of the she-wolves looking on with petty jubilation. One of them was looking at Sheamus with a sultry look. Almost like she was thinking “Finally Mine!” These slutty bitches are waiting for me to claim Hades and throw Sheamus into their waiting arms.
It hurt to think of a life without Sheamus, it felt like we were bound together. I had no feelings for Hades except lustful passion. I weighed out my feelings for Sheamus against my desire for Hades, and even though I fully accept I was born to be his bride, my soul did not cling to him. I felt drawn to Hades through lust and passion, however, with Sheamus, there was something about us. Something that was drawing us to each other like a gravitational pull. Like the Universe was binding us together. Or was it his goddess Selene?
I knew in that moment; I was not going back in time! I was not going to relive my life away from the one I had already built. If I went by my father’s words, I would be starting over, becoming a different person. Whoever I was originally born to be died the night my mother threw me away cause she thought she was protecting me. I was adopted by a family from my culture and raised to be a modern woman. That’s all I have ever known, and I have come to far building my own destiny to have my father jeopardize it.
“I am not going back in time!”
“Velaria! Yes, you are! You were never born to be a peasant! To be raised by peasants!”
“What, live in a time where I have no free will, live in a time that is now ancient history where everyone that I love here and now will never know me cause they won’t be born yet because, everyone of that civilization is now dead!” I shouted at him. I saw the rage in his eyes as I stood my ground against him and willed my defiance against his standing.
“This is not who you are supposed to be! This is not the nature of a princess!”
“Fuck you! Fuck being a princess!” I saw him repel away from me in shock at my words.
“I am smart, intelligent, and successful businesswoman! This is who I am, whoever I was meant to be died the night your wife threw me away!” I growled at him. I saw that my words broke him, it was as if I slapped him hard across the face. He had tears in his eyes and a longing about them. I could tell he was a man out of time. All he knew was the life he had thousands of years ago. A life he lost because my mother destroyed the kingdom through her defiance to Hades and the gods. I decided on a different action when I saw his pain. There had to be a way where I could discover who I truly am without giving up who I am now?
“I will do this for you dad, I will return with you.” I saw hope fill his eyes. I watched as Hades stood against a tree to the side with a smirk like he was watching an entertaining show.
“I do not want to give up the only life that I have known here. However, if we do this right, I will be able to learn everything about our culture, how to be a princess, how to be his bride, and still keep the person I am. I not coming back unless we can find a way to achieve this! You need to understand, both of you, about all my hard work I have done, the success I have achieved, I am not going to throw it all away. The life I am building here in this modern world, and my mate.”
I said as I looked over at Sheamus with a smile. Hades began to look livid. I feared for Sheamus and his pack.
“YOU’RE MINE!” Hades growled! I saw a storm beginning to grow. I saw a fiery darkness started to happen. I screamed in terror as I saw Sheamus being raised from the ground screaming in pain. He was being thrown from one tree to the other. His body soon would be mangled beyond repair thanks to Hades. I tried to throw myself in between. Hades just used the same magic to pull me back. He sealed his lips to mine without letting Sheamus go. I saw a portal opening and I could see the underworld. I felt something pulling me through. I knew fully well; Hades was going to destroy this pack to have me all to himself if I didn’t speak up son.
“Hades, my love” I told him. I looked at me in surprise. He dropped Sheamus and pulled me against him again. He wanted to hear what I was going to say. I did not know what powers lay within me or not being a wolf if I could even help Sheamus but, I used my mind to reach out to him. I willed him to heal. I felt my soul clinging to his. I felt an energy emanating from me and wrapping around him. I willed him to heal. I decided to keep Hades distracted so I could continue with what I was doing.
“I was born to be yours; you know that but, I was born to be his too.” Hades snarled and went to look at Sheamus again. I turned his head towards me and kissed him.
“It’s not him trying to steal me from you, it is the will of his goddess “Selene.””
I told him. He looked up to the sky, the moon was beginning to show. He sneered at the moon. “Fuck you, Selene!”
“You know of Selene?” I said in shock.
“Of course! She is my niece and the Greek goddess of the moon. She’s fucked my brother Zues on numerous occasions, she’s sisters with Artemis and Hecate, who are also goddess’s of the moon.” I stood looking at him shocked. I looked around and the entire pack was looking at him with he same expressions. Apparently, none of them knew these tidbits of her history.
Suddenly, he was groaning in pain. I saw a beam from the moon hit him, like knives stabbing different parts of his body. I stood backwards watching the great Hades writhe in agony. When it was done, he struggled to stand to his feet. He looked like he had just been tortured.
“You know you shouldn’t fuck with you Uncle Selene! This is going to go bad for you!” he shouted at the moon with a growl. He started to cringe in agony again. He summoned dark powers and through them at the moon. The moon thrown down beams of light again.
This went on for quite a while, the pack, my family, friends Sheamus and I ran a distance away so we would not be hit. Sheamus held me while Hades and the gods had their fight.
