Chapter 12 Found Twelve

I have been working as an assistant stylist of Vince for a week now, and I must say that I enjoy it.



Finally, I get to experience the job that I am dreaming of since I was young. I always feel like dreaming whenever I am on the set, and I can talk to the staff, writer, director, and most especially, my favorite celebrities.



I also enjoy researching Vince's outfit for his role and events. I feel like Vince is the doll that I love to dress up.



And now is my time to pamper myself after the tiring but enjoying week. I invited Iya and Anne to come with me.



After I met Iya, we asked for each other's phone numbers, and we started to text and call because we can't hang out in person due to our busy schedules. While Anne, I was not surprised to be friends with her because we get along well.



One thing we have in common is that we all love to work in media. But Anne is more on the creative side, and her job is far from the industry that we aim to work in. Instead of handling artists, she's handling products. She's the Product Marketing Director in Lieo's company.



'I envy you both because you were able to work in media," Anne said.



'But even though you don't work in media, you like your work in Lieo's company, right?" I asked her.



'Or maybe what you really like is your boss; that is why you didn't pursue to work in media?!" Iya started to tease her.



I shared with Iya what Anne and I talked about regarding Lieo and also what the boys think about the two of them.



'You guys, stop teasing me. Of course not. I really enjoy my marketing job. It's just that working in media is one of my greatest dreams; that's why I can't help myself but envy the both of you." Anne defends herself.



'You are writing novels. Why don't you pursue that?" I asked her.



She told us that since college, she used to write stories.



She shook her head. "I am too busy."



'But you have finished stories, right?" Iya asked.



It's only been a week since I met Anne, and today was our first girl bonding, but we already know so much about each other. Well, I guess that is the girl's hidden talent. We catch up so fast, and we gather things so quickly.



'Yes, I do have finished stories. But I am not that confident with my works." Anne explained.



'Why don't you try to send your story to me? Then I will send it to our company. If they like what you wrote, then we will have you signed a contract for your story." I suggested.



'And if that happens, you know well how to market your book since you are in marketing. I will also help you to promote your book." Iya said excitedly.



'I'm too shy," Anne said.



'That is okay, don't overthink. And who knows, maybe your book will not only be published but will also be on TV." I said, trying to convince her.



She just shook her head.



We were still pampering ourselves when Anne's phone rang.



'Hello? Andrew?! What? Oh yes, I'm with them. Yes, I can't make it tomorrow because I need to work overtime. Okay, is that it? Really? Okay, thanks. Bye!" Anne was smiling after her phone call with Andrew.



I notice that Andrew and Anne are close to each other. It seems like Andrew is very comfortable with her. I can't help but think that Andrew likes her.



Even if Lieo likes Anne, it is still not impossible for him to also like Anne. Since Lieo is not yet courting her. He still has a chance.



I really can feel the pain in my heart by just thinking of those things. But I know I am not jealous. I am hurt.



I really think that I need to avoid Andrew this time. I need to guard my heart. I don't think I can handle another heartache.



'Hey, you became quiet." Iya noticed me.



I shook my head. 'Nothing."



Iya looks at me intently. 'I think I know why you suddenly became quiet. You are jealous!"



'Of course not!" I denied it.



'You looked jealous. But don't worry, Alli, nothing is going on between Andrew and me. We are just friends. Also, I know you guys have something." Anne said, trying to comfort me.



Is it right for them to tease me?



'Nothing is going between Andrew and me!" I hissed.



'Really?" Both of them tease me.



I rolled my eyes. 'Whatever! Think whatever you want to think! I don't care."



They just laughed at me.



'Believe me, sis, nothing is going on between Andrew and me for the nth time. You don't need to get jealous." Anne said, trying to assure me.



'As I said, I am not jealous, okay?! And maybe you don't have anything for him because the guy you like is Lieo. But Andrew? I don't think so. I knew he likes you. I'm sure of it." I can't help but speak my mind.



They both frowned.



'What is your basis for your claim?" Iya asked.



I sighed aloud.



"He's different when he's with Anne. He is not that cold and snob. He is very comfortable with you, Anne. And he is different whenever he talks about you." I explained to them.



Iya sighed. "Alli, I am sure that my cousin likes you and not Anne. I don't know why you can't see that. He never considered working in media or having a business with media, but because of you, he wanted to venture into that industry. Do you know why? Because he wants to be fit with you. He will do everything to have you. Trust me, and I know my cousin well." Iya said seriously.



I want to believe her. I really do. But how? Andrew doesn't say anything to me. I don't want to assume. I'm so over that. I already experienced it with Jester. And I don't want to be hurt like that again because I don't know if I can still take it.



'Iya is right, Alli. Andrew and I were just friends. Believe me, please. We were just really comfortable with each other because of our personalities. I can handle snob people very well. And to tell you honestly, Andrew is a hot guy, but I know that we can only be friends, and we will never be more than that. Whether you are there or not. We were never more than friends. Trust me." Anne said in a serious voice, still trying to convince.



I smile at them. I don't want to argue with them anymore. I don't want to hope for something that is still unsure.



'I have an idea. Let's make a bet. I bet that Andrew likes you and not me. When Andrew courted you, you will treat and pamper us. And if he courted me, then it will be my treat." Anne said with conviction.



'It seems like in this bet, Alli will want to lose." Iya started to tease me again.



'Whatever! But wait, I will also want to make a bet. If Lieo courts you, you will treat us for our pampering moment part 3. But if he went back to his ex, I will treat you guys for our pampering moment part 3. So deal?" I told Anne then offer my hand for a handshake.



She smiles at me.



'Deal." She accepted my hand for a handshake.



'This time, it looks like Anne will also want to lose in that bet." Iya teases Anne.



Anne and I look at each other, trying to read each other's minds, and it seems like we knew what each other's minds are thinking.



Anne nodded to me and gave me a signal.



'You think you are exempted?! We will also make a bet for you. If Mavin courted you, then you will treat us to our pampering moment part 4. But if not, we will treat you for our pampering moment number 4." I told Iya.



I saw her blush.



'It seems like we all want to lose in this bet."



Then we all chuckled.
