Chapter 58
The Chroma Vortex
Lexi and Karl were sucked into the gaping opening of the interdimensional break by the rotating forces of the interdimensional vortex.
Lexi got ready, getting her mind ready for the attack of stranger vibes that tried to overwhelm her senses. From the start, it seemed like her very being was unraveling, her subatomic structure breaking down into its individual particles as they were swept away by the annoying waves of extradimensional chaos. She saw a jumble of fractal patterns and color twists and turns, with colored formulas bending and refracting in ways that made it hard to see the real world.
Lexi looked for a way to get what she needed, for any kind of connection to protect herself, but the interdimensional powers seemed set on wiping out any comforting thought of things going as usual. The real texture of existence looked like it was fraying at the edges, unraveling into a tapestry of pure, basic energies that moved and spun in ways that humans could not comprehend.
She could feel Karl's presence close by, which was a strong defense against the magical attack. While everything was going crazy around them, their bond, that strong vibration that went beyond the limits of their packs, became their major connection to reality.
Lexi connected, tying her body to Karl's in a mad dash to keep up with their relationship and keep their unique personalities from getting lost in the entropic chaos. She could feel his unity, his unfaltering confidence, streaming into her like a mitigating emollient, upholding her against the persevering invasion of existential collapse. As they held on to each other, their bodies came together to make a single, brought-together echo that cut through the fractal storm like a signal in the foggy evening.
Furthermore, right when Lexi figured she could persevere no more, that the actual fiber of her being would be destroyed by the unimaginable powers having an effect on everything, she felt an unpretentious change in the flows around them.
It started as a weak quake, a wave in the texture of the interdimensional riftscape, yet it immediately developed into a substantial presence - a giant, approaching element that appeared to apply a gravity draw on the actual strings of reality itself.
Lexi's breath trapped in her neck as she turned her look towards the skyline, her eyes extending in a mixture of stunningness and basic fear. There, ruling the eldritch horizon, transcended a giant, shapeshifting monster not at all like anything she had ever borne observer to. The element defied all regular portrayal, its tremendous structure contained spinning, chromatic energies and fractal patterns that appeared to live in a never-ending state of self-changing transition.
Ethereal rings of coruscating power suddenly emerged from its shapeless mass, turning and bending the actual structure of spacetime around it in ways that blew Lexi's mind. As she viewed the extraordinary behemoth, a single, nauseating truth wormed its route into her cognizance:
They had pierced the shroud, passed the boundary into the first of the Primals - those broke, anarchic aspects where the shards of the cosmic anchors currently floated in entropic disunity.
Also, the valid, impossible profundities of psychological turmoil currently lay before them in all its disrupting, enraging greatness. Lexi felt her throat tighten, her breath coming in short heaves as she fought to deal with the sheer, overpowering tremendousness of what she was seeing.
This was no simple domain of actual laws and fathomable limits - this was a plane of pure, supernatural chaos, where the principal foundations of reality itself were in a constant state of transition, twisting and distorting to the impulses of basic, unbound powers. Close to her, she could sense Karl's fear, his own quality emanating a mixture of a balance of wonder and dread.
However, in spite of the existential fear that took steps to overtake them, she could likewise feel a steely purpose exuding from her mate - a robust certainty to own this exhausting mission, regardless of the impossible risks that lay ahead. Encouraged by Karl's unfaltering belief, Lexi allowed her own purpose to solidify, her soul strengthening itself against the attack of otherworldly mayhem. T
Theyhad made significant progress, endured excessively, to waver now - not when the fate of all presence hinged upon their capacity to explore these broke, entropic domains and recover the cosmological anchors' split pieces.
As though because of her newly found confidence, the flows of the interdimensional riftscape appeared to strengthen, spinning around them in an excited vortex of chromatic energies. The basic, unrestrained forces were bending the rules of physics, and Lexi could feel the fabric of reality shifting. Out of nowhere, all of a sudden, a huge shard of glasslike energy ejected from the beating vortex, its spiked edges flashing with a kaleidoscope of refracting shades. The thorned shot plunged towards them with scary rate, its direction appearing to resist all usual ideas of straight movement as it cut a fractal way through the distorting spacetime continuum.
Lexi's eyes expanded in caution, her senses yelling at her to move, to dodge the lethal shard's direction. However, even as she pushed her muscles, planning to release her full lycanthropic may, she wound up established set up, her body apparently incapacitated by the mind-boggling magical powers at play. Time appeared to ease back to a slither as the glasslike spike moved ever nearer, its well polished edges ready to spear them both in a single, disastrous strike.
Lexi could feel the heaviness of endlessness pushing downward on her, the changeless truth of their mission's vast importance taking shape to her. There was no room for mistake.
They couldn't flounder, couldn't submit to the entropic forces that looked to unwind the real embroidered artwork of present itself.
A lot of stayed in a precarious position, an excessive number of lives and universes and planes of reality would be snuffed out in a moment in the event that they gave up to surrender. With a stupendous effort of will, Lexi fought against the interdimensional flows that took steps to hold her stationary, connecting with each fiber of her being to renew her bond with Karl.
Their forces interlaced, converging into a solitary, joined together reverberation that slice through the psychological chaos like a reference point of revolt. What's more, at that time of outright conviction, of faithful certainty, Lexi felt an inconspicuous change in the flows around them - a little wave that appeared to spread outwards, distorting the directions of the translucent shard and the bothering vortex itself.
As the barbed shot got delayed, its deadly way redirected by the merest part, Lexi let out a winded exhale, her heart beating in her chest. They had gotten through the primals' first terrible attack, but she knew deep down that this was just the beginning of the unimaginable problems that lay ahead. Lexi prepared herself for the difficult trip ahead by quietly promising to endure despite the existential difficulties they faced.
The way forward would be full of danger, with reality-breaking powers that would test the limits of their bond and their mental health itself. Yet, they were joined together, their forms linked on a vital, infinite level that rose above human perception.
Furthermore, as long as they stayed lasting, as long as they stuck to that significantly powerful tie, no power - not even the released fierceness of existential entropy itself - would have the option to destroy them. With a last, steadfast exhalation, Lexi turned her look towards the core of the chromatic swirl, that spinning center of fractal disorder from whence the shard had arisen. Some place inside that frenzy of base energies lay the first of the dissipated anchors' bits, the way to starting their exhausting journey of psychological repair.
Also, as overwhelming as the way forward showed up, as boundless as the strange misfortunes they would before long face, Lexi realize that they would win.
They needed to - for assuming they vacillated, in the event that they gave up to the entropic forces that tried to unwind the actual texture of the real world, then presence would be all sentenced to obscurity's endless, soul-breaking pit.
With Karl's presence supporting her, Lexi took a steadying breath and ventured forward, diving herself and her mate into the multicolored whirlwind.
As the fractal powers engulfed them again, a gigantic, brilliant shape started to combine in the middle of the spinning mayhem, its glowing ringlets connecting as though to catch them in its glory...
