CHAPTER 28: His Amending Heart

KATE’s P.O.V.

I took a deep breath before knocking on his apartment door. I’m currently in front of Elijah’s home, my mind debating whether I should see him or not an hour earlier. But my heart won and now I am here, waiting for him to answer.

I raised my trembling hands, was about to knock again when the door swing opened, revealing Elijah wearing only a khaki pants while his body is topless. I opened my mouth, trying to say something but nothing came out.

“Why are you here?” he asked, his face has a blank expression plastered upon it.

“Elijah... I’m...”

“What?” he asked, impatiently.

I bit my lower lip, mentally slapping myself for coming here unprepared. What am I supposed to say now?

“If you have nothing to say, then you may leave, Ms. Frias.”

“Wait–” He shut the door in front of my face.

I violently pounded on his door, annoyed at the fact that he’s playing hard to get. Though I can’t blame him for being like this. I just want to talk to him but I couldn’t find any words to express myself.

“Elijah!” I shouted.

The door swing opened for the second time around. This time, he looks so furious at what I’ve done.

“What the fuck do you want?!”

I was stunned, hearing him raised his voice towards me. I couldn’t move, nor speak. Tears started to form at the corners of my eyes.

“Sorry...” I looked down. “Maybe I’m just gonna come back here the next day.”

I turned around, before I started to walked away. I heard him groaned, before I felt his hand on my arm. He pulled me inside of his apartment, before closing his door. He pinned me at the wall, looking at me with his intense eyes.

“E-Elijah...”

His breath is getting heavier and heavier each passing seconds, his orbs are still staring at me. My eyes swelled in tears, before I let go of a few sobs. Seeing him being like this because of me brought guilt to my system. I rested my forehead on his chest, unable to say anything as I cried.

His body stiffened, but as he took another deep breath, I felt his hands slowly embracing my body.

“I-I’m sorry... Elijah. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you like that... I was so stupid... I’m stupid.”

I heard him chuckled, before he pulled me closer towards his body. He wrapped hi hands around me and I instantly felt his warmth. It felt nice.

“You’re stupid. But you should he thankful. I love a stupid person... And that is you.”

I felt his lips on my hair. My hands gripped tightly on his arms and I feel like I didn’t want to let go anymore.

“I love you too, Elijah. You amended my heart... So many times than I expected.”

He gently pushed me a little, looking at my face like he’s asking if what I just said is true. He shoot me a questionable look and I just nodded as I response.

“I love you, Elijah. I guess I always been.”

He smiled, his hands around my waist. He slowly moved towards me, and I closed my eyes. I felt his lips on mine. It was a gentle but a very passionate kiss. He pulled away biting his lower lip.

“I love you so much, Kate. And now that Darren finally decided to find Claire, I can claim you as mine. Only mine.”

I tiptoed to wrapped my arms around his neck. He lifted me up, before I felt his hands caressing my butt. We share another kiss as he made his way towards his bedroom while carrying me.

As we reached the bed, he lay me down, before he temporarily get away from me just to remove his pants. As he came back, I instantly wrapped him between of my arms and legs. That’s when everything went into flash. We just found ourselves moaning the name of each other as he thrust hard and fast inside of my walls.

“Ugh! Elijah... More!”

“My pleasure... Ohh...”

For the second time around, I surrendered myself to his rectifying graze. He made me feel his lovely touch as we both reached our destination. Pleasure really comes together with pain. And with Elijah, I felt it both. But I believe that it was all worth it in the end.

As we finally reached our climax, his movement become slow until it finally stopped. Both of us are catching our breaths. He remained at the top of me, his head resting on my chest while listening to the beat of my heart. My hands started to gently ruffle his hair as we stayed in that current position of ours.

“I can’t believe I finally got you. After eight years of waiting... I love you so much, Kate.”

“I love you too, Elijah. Always remember that even if there are times that I couldn’t answer you properly.”

I heard him chuckled before looking up to my face. He planted a kiss on my nose before coming back to lay at the top of me. I smiled to myself, thinking how lucky I am to have this man. After eight years, I’m still the one. He waited for me, and I don’t know where I’m supposed to be right now if he didn’t trust fate.

After taking a short nap, we fixed ourselves to have a date somewhere beside of this place. He let me use the shower first before he did. And right after we finished preparing ourselves, he got his car keys before we leave his apartment hand in hand.

“Where are we going exactly?” I asked, and he just chuckled.

“It’s a secret. You’ll like that place. It’s pretty much peaceful.”

I just shrugged my shoulder before resting my head on the window of his car, feeling sleepy.

“Still tired, huh?” he asked mischievously.

“Maniac.”

He chuckled, reaching for my hand to give it a kiss. I smiled, seeing him very happy. Maybe this is what it feels like to be in love... I saw how Darren and Claire look at each other. And at that moment, I was wishing that someday, maybe someday, someone will look at me just like that way while I’ve been feeling the same thing. That will probably be the best moment of my life, if ever. And now I’m experiencing it with Elijah.

I took a nap while we are on the trip. My body is tired though my mind was fighting the urge to sleep. Maybe it’s because of the fact that my reality is becoming way better than any of my dreams. I was just awakened by a continuous tap on my shoulder. When I opened my eyes, I was bombarded by Elijah’s handsome face.

“Hey, sleepy head. We are here.”

I looked around, seeing a cemetery. He held my hand as he removed my seatbelt. He then hopped down from the car and turned around just to open the door for me.

“What are we doing here?” I asked curiously.

“Come... I’ll show you...”

We ran like a crazy person, hand on hand towards one direction. After a few moments, Elijah and I stopped in front of a tomb. He kneel down, and I did the same. He wiped the dirt on the tomb, only revealing his mother’s name, I guess. I can said that because I could see his surname attached to the name embossed on the tomb.

“Hey, Mom...” I knew it. “I want you to meet someone... It’s Kate. The woman I often told you about before.”

“Elij...” I clung into his arms, feeling shy even though I know that his Mom couldn’t see nor heard us right now. He looked at me, then smiled.

“Before our graduation day, I promised to Mom that she’s going to meet you soon enough. But I haven’t got much time because she suddenly died... And I lost you too.”

“I’m sorry, Elijah... I shouldn’t have leave you that day...”

I moved closer towards him, my hands is still on his arms. I kissed his shoulder, and I felt him kissed my forehead.

“I’m very pleased to meet your son, Ma’am,” I stated out of no where.

Elijah laughed, putting his arms around my shoulder while pressing his lips on my head several times.

“I’m sure that Mom is very pleased to meet you too. I love you so much, Kate.”

“And I love you too.”

He blushed, causing me to tease him even more by poking his belly using my fingers. He looked tickled, trying to suppressed his laughter as I did it over and over again.

“Stop!” he almost pleaded. “Come, we should probably head home now.”

“Too soon?” I asked, pouting my lips.

I was surprised when he pressed his into mine. He hold my hand before pulling me to stood up.

“Come on. Don’t try to seduce me right here. I’m taking you home right now.”

“Fine.”

I rolled my eyes before stealing another kiss on his cheeks as well. He looked at me in awe, before biting his lips, I ran and he chased me like we are a little children that’s playing under the sun all day long, like we got no problems in life at all... I hope we could just stay like this forever.
