**Selina**


“Selina, I have to ask. Is there something I should know about Kade?” Zane asked as we sat in his car.

“I… used to date him. In high school, we were sweethearts. He’s…” I took a deep breath. “I have a son… he doesn’t know.”

“Christ, tell me you’re joking. That’s why he’s so pissed. You should tell him.”

I shook my head. “I can’t. Giovanni said…”

“Giovanni knows? Shit sweetheart, who all knows?”

“Everyone but Kade. I think Frankie suspects, but Giovanni said he didn’t want me to tell him yet. That he needs time.”

Zane shook his head. “I’ve never seen Kade look like that. Not since he first came here. I don’t think it would be advisable for us to continue our sessions. Not after knowing you belong to another man. That’s not who I am.”

“Please, we can…”

“I’m sorry, but I can’t do that. ”

“I just…”

Zane took both of my hands in his and offered me a sad smile, shaking his head. “You’re a sweet girl, Selina. I can’t continue this while you still have ties with Kade. This is my opinion, but I think you should talk to Kade, work out your problems, tell him about his child, then, if it doesn’t work out between you two, come find me and we’ll talk. I’ll set you up with a dominant you feel comfortable with.”

“I’m sorry.” I whispered.

“It’s okay. I do hope you and him work it out. Your child deserves to have a father.”

“Can we still be friends?”

“Of course, you can always come to me if you need to talk. I’ll never stop being your friend.” Zane murmured, kissing the top of each hand.

“And your friend Ryan?”

“Will still be your friend as well. However, I’m a little disappointed we couldn’t explore more. In a way, I’m kind of hoping it doesn’t work out. Kylie and Sophia would love another woman to play with.”

“Sophia and Kylie?”

“I was never going to become your dom, sweetheart. I’ve got two women of my own. You were going to be Ryan’s submissive. I do wish you well. And Selina, I do hope to meet that kid soon.”

“Of course, his name is Kaden.”

“You named him after his father?”

“After he left me, I was hurt. I cried myself to sleep so many nights. My parents kicked me out and I had just enough money to come here. Luca and Giovanni found me broke and alone. Luca and Giovanni became family. The whole family has.”

“Do you need a ride?” He asked.

“No, I think you’re right. I’m going to go back inside and face the music. It’s time Kade knows about his son.”

“Goodnight, sweetheart. Good luck.”
I exited his car and made my way back to the club. Entering the club, I spotted Luca working the bar. I leaned on the counter and whispered. “Where is he?”

Luca nodded to the back. “Giovanni is talking to him.”

“About Kaden?”

He shook his head. “No, he doesn’t think he’s ready for that.”

“I’m ready to tell him.” I informed him.

Luca grabbed my hands and hissed. “No! Giovanni doesn’t want him to know yet. He needs time to cool down.”

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. “Cool down?”

“Kade was seconds from killing Zane. Trust me, he needs time to cool down before the bomb is dropped.”

“Zane and I are just friends.”

“But Kade doesn’t see it like that. In fact, he thinks you’re romantically involved with each other.”

“We were, but… it’s complicated.” I whispered. “I was just exploring. It’s not like it was a real relationship.”

“If I were you, I’d keep that to yourself. You haven’t been around Kade since you were teenagers. He’s been in the military and not the same. You never know when he’ll snap. Just trust me on this, don’t tell him yet. Giovanni is dealing with him.”

I sighed. “Ok, I’ll wait.”

“You working tonight?”

“No, not tonight. I’m going to pick up Kaden and head home. It’s game night.”

“I think you should stay at Giovanni’s.” He told me.

“I’ll be fine.”

I picked up Kaden and headed to my apartment. All the way there, I felt like someone was watching me. I just have a bad feeling about this. Maybe I should have taken Luca’s advise. I carried Kaden to his room and turned to be met with a gun to my head. I opened my mouth to scream, but a large hand covered my mouth.

“Be quiet and I’ll make this quick.” A voice hissed.

I bit down on his hand and stomped on his foot. I wouldn’t go quietly. The intruder wasn’t Italian. That much I knew. He grabbed a handful of my hair and slammed me against the wall. I cried out in pain and wished I’d stayed at Giovanni’s.

“Don’t be stupid, little bitch. One more move like that and I’ll splatter your kid’s brains. You and I, we need to talk about your boss. I know he’s hiding the cunt from me. You tell him surrender the bitch and I’ll stop. Tell him Sergei sends his regards.”

Then… darkness.

I woke up with a sharp pain in my head as I sat up. I’d been taken to the hospital. My neighbor called the ambulance as soon as the man left. Giovanni and Luca came to me as soon as they heard. I told them everything I remembered. For now, Rose is taking care of my son. I’ll have to stay in the estate until the man is caught. Which means I’ll be seeing more of Kade. Giovanni says it’s time he finds out about his son.

I was so not looking forward to it.

Lucien and Alec stood guard all night to protect me if needed.

“When can I leave?” I asked Luca.

“Not long now. Are you sure you’re okay?”

“I told you I’m fine. I just want to see my son.”

Luca eyed me. “Kade isn’t handling it very well. He’s… still pissed.”

“Has Giovanni told him… about you know?”

“No, he knows you want to be the one to tell him. He deserves to know from you and only you.”

“I’m scared.”

Luca hugged me and whispered. “It’ll be okay, sweetheart. Giovanni and I will be right there by your side. I really don’t think Kade will hurt you. He… he blames himself for you getting hurt.”

“It wasn’t his fault.” I whispered.

“He doesn’t see it that way. He thinks if he’d taken you with him that you wouldn’t be here right now.”

“That’s not true. If he hadn’t left me, I wouldn’t have met you and Giovanni. I know he broke my heart, but if I did it all over, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. You’re my family now.”

“You’re gonna make me get all emotional, sweetheart.”

“What? You mean you’re gonna have a chick flick moment? I don’t believe it.” I teased.

“I’ll be waiting outside while you sign your discharge papers. Then, we can get you home with your son. He’s so excited to see you. He’s missed you so much.”
