CHAPTER 39
“I am going to kill myself and if I die it is your fault!” she shouted one more time and jumped.
She was sorry to her parents that she couldn’t fulfill the promise she made when she regained her consciousness. But living knowing that she made Haven that way was so much for her and she couldn’t bear the guilt it brought.
She felt herself hit the water and it was so painful. Watching the moon while she drowned was just so memorable. She began to lose concentration and she saw the snake coming down to her. Haven heard her and she was coming for her, but wasn’t it too late?
She didn’t get to hear or see anything else as she totally blacked out and drown deeper.

Amber woke up feeling numb. She rolled and found out that she was in a cave. She wasn’t home at all but she was also alone. She had slept on top of grass. It was as if someone made the bed for her but where was she?
She stood up and began to search the whole cave. It was huge and mysterious. There were so many drawings on the wall and most of them showed a story she was familiar with.
It showed a woman getting bitten by a snake, dying and waking up after being administered some herbs by the other people. She saw those people training the woman who had been bitten and finally giving her the crown. The drawings seemed to have been drawn ages ago. How did Haven saw this place?
“Haven!” she called out but she didn’t see anything.
She couldn’t find the entrance or the exit of the cave so she returned where she woke up from and sat. She looked for her phone and it was dead. The water had messed up her phone, it was useless.
She heard her stomach rumbling but where was she supposed to find food? She didn’t know how to cook or anything. She was going to starve if she doesn’t find a way to leave the cave.
She was busy thinking of ways when she heard the snake hissing and crawling her way. She stood up and stood in the corner. Even though she knew that was her Haven she still couldn’t really acknowledge it.
She saw the sane approaching and saw just how enormous it was. She had never seen a snake like that before. The snake crawled till it was right in front of her and vomited out fruits. Where did it get fruits?
It looked at her with those red eyes and looked at the fruits on the ground and she knew what it meant. She walked towards the snake and picked up the fruits. They needed to be washed but what was she going to do?
Suddenly the snake began to crawl in another direction and she just followed. They took the path for about ten minutes before she started hearing the sound of water. She didn’t wait to follow the snake but ran towards it. There was a spring and she drank as much water as she could.
The water was tasty and natural. She washed her fruits and began to eat. The snake just coiled itself and watched as she ate. She couldn’t believe that the snake was her ex girlfriend and the leader of so many people.
“Can I wash myself?” she asked and the snake shook its head sideways in a friendly manner and she took off her clothes and began to wash.
After the bath they returned where she slept.
“I’m sorry,” she said and went to where it was lying.
She placed her hand on its cold length and began to move her hand slowly on it body.
“I should have asked and trusted you. I love you and I need you to come back to me. I won’t leave you, I promise,” she said and the snake began to move again.
She began to follow the snake until they were out of the cave. That was just the beginning, they began to move towards one direction and she was shocked when she saw the house appearing when she didn’t even walk for twenty minutes. What was really wrong with this place?
As they appear near the house she saw this other woman she had seen yesterday running towards her.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
“I’m fine but she is not,” she replied pointing to Haven on the ground.
“It’s fine. I need you to go to the house and call the man and woman you will see there. Just tell them Viper is back and they should bring what they came with.”
“Okay,” she said and left Haven with the strange woman. She could take care of herself she thought.
When she arrived everyone felt relieved seeing her. She passed on the message but they wanted to leave her.
“I almost died so that she could show up and now you want me to remain behind? Over my dead body; I’m going with you. I promised her that I won’t ever leave her alone.”
“Okay, if you insist but whatever you are going to see or hear, you need to keep it to yourself.”
“I think we are past that. I have already seen and heard the worst.”
With that she won and followed the strange couple back where she left Haven.
“Viper, welcome back!” they both said and she saw the snake standing on its tail, she couldn’t see its face.
What was happening again?
“It’s time, let’s go.”
They all followed the strange couple back to the cave and they began chanting and reciting words she couldn’t even understand. They did that for like an hour before they lit red scented candles that smelt like the herbs she used to bath every day.
