Chapter 113 The Deaths of Eric and Chase Lockwood
*Eric Lockwood *
I sat on the floor of my so-called prison listening to the echoes around me. I could hear the unmistakable sounds of growling wolves and the promises and the laughter of the man known as Aranck. I felt uneasy, worthless and guilty. All of this was because of me.
The faces of Lucas, Diana, Athena, and Josephine flashed through my mind. It never crossed my mind, my family, the Lockwood family, was finally complete after eighteen years. My mate, Josephine, came home after we had thought she was dead. And even if I had orchestrated their assassinations, Lucas, Michael and Diana still showed me respect and did not do anything to hurt me.
I would no longer be able to ask for their forgiveness or build a relationship with my granddaughter. Technically, I was already dead.
I buried my face in my hands and began to cry. All the remorse, regret and self-pity I felt, I let out through the sobs that raked my body. The despair in my heart was so overwhelming, it hurt.
"Moon Goddess, I am so sorry. Please forgive me," I cried out, hoping she would hear me despite being in this deep and seemingly bottomless chasm.
"Wolves, on your knees," a female voice echoed. The voice sounded familiar. I decided to gaze through the mirror and take a look at what was happening. No use in wallowing in self-pity. I had to accept my fate. For the evil to end, I would need to sacrifice myself.
I saw a large black wolf seated in the middle of a hallway surrounded by much smaller wolves. The ceiling of the hallway was high which allowed the black wolf to sit herself comfortably. Everyone who was wolf, whether they were in wolf form or not, were on their knees, bowing to the black wolf. I noticed a green light glowing below the neck of the black wolf. She had merged the green emerald with the ring, making her the Alpha among the Alphas.
Once again, her voice echoed all around me, however it carried a grim and fatal command, "Wolves, kill them." One by one the wolves stood up and slowly inched their way towards us.
Chester, I knew, no longer had the power to wield magic so I waited for the inevitable.
From out of nowhere, a knife struck Chester's chest, my chest. Just like the stabbings earlier, I felt the cold silver pierce my flesh, but unlike earlier, this one I felt all the way to my heart. I immediately collapsed onto the floor in my strange abyss.
I was no more.

As the Alpha commands, the subordinates obey. One by one the wolves approached Aranck with Emmett leading the way. Onyx was sitting down, watching.
Aranck raised his arms hoping to use his magic, however Emmett had already casted the binding spell making him and his disciples defenseless.
One disciple ran towards the stairwell where we first came in with Diana in an attempt to flee. However, a team of Wolf Troops emerged, pointing their guns at Aranck.
Suddenly, a knife whizzed though the air from the other end of the corridor, hitting one of Aranck's disciples. He collapsed on the floor beside Aranck, who stood there helplessly.
Those who were in their wolf form pounced while Emmett raised his arm casting the bright light of his bracelet unto Aranck and his men. Their screams were hardly heard from the growling the wolves were making as they ripped the flesh off the bodies of each of the men.
Alpha Connor, Michael, Matt and I watched as the floor turned red and the walls were stained with their blood.
"I'm not used to this magic stuff. I'm happy they are done and over with. Thank you Moon Goddess for finally ending this," Alpha Connor said. "That's what you get when don't think things through."
"There are still two more of these Black Resistence members in the dungeons," Michael said. "The one named Theodora won't be too happy her mate has been torn to pieces."
"Well, we can do the same for her, so she won't feel left out," I told him.
"Wolves, back in your cells," Onyx said through mind link. Obediently, all the wolves walked back to their cells and shifted back to their human form. The Wolf Troops from the stairwell walked around the carnage to make sure the remaining inmates were locked tightly in their cells once again.
Suddenly, red flames erupted from the bodies, rising into the air as black clouds which in turn dissipated into thin air as Emmett continued to shine his bracelet on the group of dead bodies. The black cloaks disappeared and the bodies reverted back to who they were once before.
"Father!" yelled a familiar voice. I saw Chase running from the other end of the corridor to where Aranck and his disciples once stood. I shook my head sorrowfully. My father was used as a vessel by one of Aranck's disciples and unfortunately, was now a dead body along with the others. "Get out of my way, old man!" Chase pushed Emmett aside and knelt down in the blood. With trembling hands, he picked up the head of our father from the pool of blood.
"How could you?!" Chase screamed at Onyx. "Couldn't you have at least spared the rest? He's your grandfather, your own flesh and blood. Now, look at him! His head has been ripped away from his body!"
I walked slowly towards Chase in an attempt to calm him down, but he turned to me, contempt etched on his face.
"Chase, no one knew it was Father. Yes, he had the black sapphires, but he could have given it to anyone. There was no way we could have known he was one of the transformed," I reasoned with him. "Aranck and his disciples were a threat to all of us wolves. We had to kill all of them."
"Why should I listen to you? Huh Lucas?! You have been seeking your revenge since the very beginning! You know quite well Father and I killed the very person you loved and you want your vengeance!" He spat at me. "You have wanted Father and I dead for the death of that disgusting human! What's her name?" He paused, thinking. "Nurse Amy! That's right! That gold-digging slut!"
A thunderous growl came from behind him and I saw the panic in his face for having desecrated the memory of Diana's mother. The inmates in their cells cowered, some even hid themselves in a corner. I stood there and lowered my head. He had to mention Amy. The death of Amy started this all. Again, I wished I could just turn back time and do it differently, but what has happened has happened, and all I can do is go on and continue to ask for forgiveness.
Onyx shifted back to Diana who thankfully was wearing a green dress when she shifted back. Her anger was apparent and I knew she was not going to forgive her Uncle Chase for saying such a thing about her mother.
"Kneel, wolf," Diana commanded. Chase immediately obeyed, kneeling on one knee while placing our father's head beside him. I silently prayed that Chase would repent for I knew he would suffer the same fate. "Power was all that Grandfather Lockwood wanted. He made decisions thinking he could become someone as powerful as the High Lord Wolf. He, unfortunately, never saw the value of family. He killed his own parents, drove away his mate, attempted to kill his own son and granddaughter. For what? To become Elder and rich? Finally, he figured out all his mistakes. Grandfather Lockwood was able to repent while imprisoned inside the black sapphire. He, Uncle Chase, is in a better place now. How about you, Uncle Chase? Do you admit it? Do you admit you killed my mother, Uncle Chase?" Diana approached Chase and bent down to peer through his eyes for the truth.
"Yes, I admit it. I gave the order to kill the nurse," Chase answered.
"Say her name, Uncle Chase," Diana yelled.
"I gave the order to kill Nurse Amy. I told a wolf named Ezra I would pay for all his gambling debts if he would just kill the human nurse," he confessed. "I also led an army to massacre the Williams family the day they brought you home."
"Do you repent, Uncle Chase? Will you ask me for forgiveness?" Diana asked, her green eyes were glowing intensely.
"I, uh..." I saw Chase move his head to the side.
"Tell me the truth, Uncle Chase."
"No. I don't and won't. What has been done can not be changed," Chase answered, pushing away from Diana. Diana pulled the collar of his combat uniform so he would face her, the coward that he was, and raised her other hand in the air to strike him with her claws, but Michael stopped her. I didn't notice that he and Alpha Connor were already beside me.
"Kiddo, death is an easy punishment for him. He needs to suffer," he said. "I know, right? This coming from a wolf who can kill without even thinking. But, Chase needs to think about what he did wrong so he can repent."
"Banish him from the pack and have him locked up in here," Alpha Connor said. "The inmates will remind him every day of the mistakes he's done."
Diana slowly lowered her hand.
"You will pay for killing my mother. Every single day of your life," she spat at him, finally releasing her hold of him.
"Diana!" Ethan exclaimed from behind her. Diana, upon hearing his voice, turned, giving Chase an opportunity to attack.
Chase raised his gun and aimed for Diana's head. But before he could pull the trigger, Diana quickly turned around to face him, piercing his chest with her claws while Michael rushed forward, grabbing his head and twisting it until we heard that characteristic snap. Michael let go while Diana extracted her claws and Chase collapsed on top of the severed head of my father.
Two Lockwoods...dead.

I drove back to my building as fast as I could. I had to leave. No way was I going to stay here. I called up Sixth and asked him to meet me at the office. I needed to transfer all my money and I needed him to do it while I was away. I only had several million with me in cash and some more in an offshore account. It will do for the time being.
Sixth was waiting for me in my office when I arrived there. He had the documents ready and the power of attorney I requested so he could transfer all my money.
"Sixth, you are the only rogue I can trust with this. I need to leave for now. You will be in charge of all operations and money transfers," I told him.
"What happened One? I just saw you this morning heading to Twelve's floor, now you're running away?" Sixth asked, obviously shocked. I didn't have time to read all these documents. I just kept signing until I was done.
"I got into a really big mess with some people who have magic powers and can kill on sight," I answered. "I need to get as far away from here as possible. Since Second is still locked up at Alpha Connor's territory, Fourth has been imprisoned, Third and Fifth are dead, you are the closest rogue I can trust."
"Wait. Alpha Connor has Second and Third and Fifth are dead? Why didn' you tell me, One? All this time I thought they were out doing something for you." Sixth took the documents I had just signed and placed them in his briefcase.
"I couldn't, because it would look bad," I replied while opening my vault and dumping all the cash and valuables in a bag. I had more at home. "I need to go home and get all my stuff. Transfer all my money into my offshore account. You have all the information, right?"
"I do, One. I'll make sure everything will be transferred as you instructed," Sixth said. I picked up my bag and walked to the door to leave my office. I turned around forgetting something.
"Sixth, you can use my office until it's safe for me to come back. Call ahead and have a private plane ready for me at the airport," I ordered. "Take care of my businesses, Sixth." He bowed low.
"Will do, One," he replied curtly.
I ran out of my office building and headed to my car. I drove home and began packing. Everything I needed had to fit into two suitcases. That was as much as I could carry.
"One, stay." A female voice suddenly said. Hell the fuck no! I ain't staying!
After packing, I opened the door, picked up my luggages and proceeded to exit my home. However, as much as I tried, my feet wouldn't go pass the doorway.
I dropped my suitcases and kicked the door closed. I was totally screwed.
