Chapter 94 No More Disrespect
*Diana*
"Alpha Lockwood and Alpha Crowne, I am Doctor Joseph Manning," the doctor said, bowing before me. "Do excuse me for the intrusion, however I wish to speak to you in behalf of the injuries among the pack members. I was hoping to ask if you could procure fresh medical supplies before the pack runs out. The injuries and number of wounded are extensive."
"Of course, Doctor. Give me a list of what you need and I will personally see to it that you have everything you need by the end of the day," I told him.
"Thank you, Alpha Lockwood. Here is the list of items and medicines I need as well as the quantity." Dr. Joseph Manning handed me quite an extensive list. Was Uncle Chase not providing the things the pack needed? "I am very happy to welcome you to the Lotus Pack and happy to have another female Alpha who will rule this pack to greatness once again." He smiled at me and bowed. I wasn't used to all this bowing, but Onyx was loving it.
"Joseph, how are you?" My dad asked him while extending his hand for a handshake. "Seems you're the pack doctor now. This is my daughter, Diana."
The doctor shook my dad's hand vigorously and patted him on the arm. "I'm doing well. I took over after Dr. Shelby retired. It seems you are still dashing as ever with a grown daughter no less. She obviously has the Lockwood greens and is as beautiful as Nurse Amy."
"You knew my mother?" I asked him.
"Yes. I was a resident doctor back then. She was a dedicated nurse, took to her oath to help the sick to heart. If she were alive today, she would be very proud. No doubt your father here is very proud of you. Well, I have to get going. I have more wolves to tend to."
"Joseph, there will be an anointing ceremony later tonight. I hope you can attend," my dad said.
"Sure Lucas. I will attend. Female Alphas are rare and from what I gather from my studies of known Alphas of our history, it is the female Alphas who have done outstanding things. I have no doubt Alpha Diana will also stand out as Alpha of our pack." The doctor bowed again and left the mansion.
"Dad, I need you to announce to the pack members that I will be having a ceremony later tonight. I also need to inspect the territory. Jonathan said the pack fell on hard times when Uncle Chase took over. I need to see what he meant."
"No problem. Michael and I will take you around," my dad said.
My uncle and grandfather came out of the study. It was time to take back that office. "And I need a locksmith. I want to change the locks to the study."
"Your right. We need to change those locks. I will tend to that. But since we need the office now, I'll ask Chase for the keys," my dad said. My dad walked up to Uncle Chase with Alpha Connor behind him.
"I better help out," Ethan stood up. I stood up too. I was Alpha after all.
"Chase, Diana needs the keys to the study," my dad told him.
"No."
"Alright then," my dad replied. "You can either give me the keys or we can break down the door. Either way, we are getting into that study."
"Chase, give them the keys," my grandfather said. My uncle looked at him, stunned his father could agree to this.
"Fine, I just need to get some of my things," my uncle said.
"Sure, but no documents," I said.
"I'll get whatever I damn well please, half-breed," he said defiantly.
I snapped. I was sick and tired of the disrespect. So what if I was a half-breed? We are living in the 21st century. These things should be accepted.
I rushed forward and took his neck into my hands and raised him off the floor. He struggled to get out of my grasp. My grandfather tried to help him by pulling my arm down, but my arm didn't budge. He then raised his hand to hit me.
"Go ahead, Eric Lockwood," Onyx's deep voice echoed out of my mouth. "Strike me. You will not like what I will do to you if you do." My grandfather slowly lowered his hand. "As for you, your murderous leech, you will follow orders or I will visit you again when you sleep. Do you submit to your Alpha?" Onyx asked Uncle Chase.
"Y-y-es," my uncle choked out his reply.
"I only need to tighten my grip to squeeze the life out of you so the world will be a better place. However, it will be too simple. You must suffer before you die." I let go of my hold of him and he fell on the floor. "As for you, you stubborn old coot, your position as Elder has no consequence to me. I took Minerva Allen's sight and tongue. I can take away your legs. Do not ever think for one moment that you have bested me."
"To all wolves of the Lotus Pack, I will not allow any of you to disrespect my human form. I will take out your tongue if ever the words half-breed are uttered again. My Beta will make sure whatever I decree will be enforced." Emmett had just entered with Uncle Mike. He dropped all the things he was carrying and immediately knelt down to bow.
"Alpha, I will do what you ask," he said. I placed my hand on his shoulder. He raised his eyes to meet mine.
"I am happy to see you, my friend," Onyx said. I felt her leave my body. I was starting to get better with shifting to Onyx while still in human form. I took Emmett's hand to help him up from the floor.
"Chase Lockwood, my Alpha demands the keys to the office. Hand them over," Emmett instructed. My uncle picked himself up off the floor, took out the keys from his pocket and gave them to me. "As for you Eric, my Alpha demands two guards be with you at all times. And no, it is not because she may not find you if you leave. My Alpha wants to make it difficult for you to escape if you decide to leave. You do have an appointment with the High Lord Wolf after lunch, yes?" Emmett asked.
"How did you know?" My grandfather asked him. Emmett laughed.
"So who wants to guard him?"
"I'll do it," Uncle Mike said.
"Me too," my dad answered. "There's a bounty on my head. I'll keep close to you, Father. Maybe I can take you with me if I die."
"Ah, good. Let justice prevail. Okay, Chase and Eric. Run along now like good little wolves." Emmett waited for Chase and Eric to go up the stairs before he spoke again. " Alpha Connor, I need to go to your territory straight away. After I have changed."
Alpha Connor raised his eyebrows in bewilderment. "What is this all about?"
"The rogue you have in custody. Someone will set him free and if I don't do something," Emmett flickered his fingers, "he will unite with his leader once again. I know this will make the already angered rogues even angrier but, what's life without any entertainment?" He giggled. "I will get dressed now and we will leave in fifteen minutes. My Alpha can keep an eye on the Lotus Pack territory on her own. She can do this even in her sleep."

*Alpha Connor *
Lucas and Michael will be leaving Diana on her own for the first time while her Beta will be entering my territory to keep Second behind bars. Someone was planning to betray me for a rogue, despite the fact that it was One and Second on the behest of Eric Lockwood who orchestrated and almost exterminated my pack, killing my brother in the process.
Emmett emerged from the garage wearing dark blue denim jeans, a gray turtle neck, a black leather jacket and black boots. For someone who has been kept hidden, he had impeccable fashion sense.
"Eric would show me some pictures from this small television. I would point to what I want and he would purchase the items I want for me," Emmett said.
"A small television? I think you mean a smartphone. Something like this?" Diana handed him her phone and his eyes widened, delighted to see the gadget.
"Yes! This is it! According to Eric, everyone basically has information at their fingertips yet, he never allowed me to explore the uses of his...smartphone. So this is a phone? I can call someone from this?" He asked.
"Call, message...you can even send mail. How about this? We'll pick up a phone for you after you're done at my territory," I told him.
"My dad gave me some money. Here." Diana handed Emmett some cash. "You can go and shop for a smartphone."
"Oh, I don't need your money, Alpha. I made use of my skills and earned money through my garden of herbs." No wonder Emmett had a number of hydroponic gardens in the tunnel.
"Alpha Diana, may I accompany Emmett to Alpha Connor's territory?" Otis asked. "Magic truly fascinates me and I would like to serve as Emmett's helper if he may need one."
"Sure, Otis. I think I can handle things here. Ethan, Aunt Athena and Didi will help me."
We drove to my territory using Andrew's RV. Emmett was surprised at all the changes. Cars were more modern, billboards were digital, and there were so many buildings. When we arrived at my territory, Emmett was delighted to see my pack had grown in number.
At the dungeons, Emmett went directly to Second without me pointing him out to him. Otis followed him as back-up. Second eyed Emmett warily, wondering who he was. I kept hidden and even told Matt to hide too.
"Who are you?" Second asked.
"I'm Emmett. My Alpha has sent me to make sure you are comfortable.
"I'm chained to the wall which isn't very comfortable," Second replied. "Maybe you can tell your Alpha to loosen my chains and get me a nice juicy steak while you're at it."
"I like you. You are so clever," Emmett said, laughing. "My Alpha also wanted me to tell you, your friends will all die once they set foot in the forest and if you leave, my Alpha will make sure your leader will be mauled."
"Tell Connor he needs more than that to scare me," Second said.
"Alpha Connor is not the Alpha I speak of, rogue. My Alpha is the black wolf. She has sent me to remind you of your deal." Emmett raised his gloved hand and an image of the black wolf appeared from his palm and began to run in the air all the way to where Second was chained to the wall, its mouth wide open. Second screamed in horror when the black wolf pounced on him, seemingly appearing to bite his head off, however the image suddenly disappeared. While Emmett scared Second, he placed his other hand near the keyhole. I could've sworn a bright light emanated from it.
"I won't escape. I'll be a exemplary prisoner. I promise. Just don't let the black wolf visit me in my sleep," Second begged.
"You scream like a little girl, rogue. My Alpha is amused." Emmett turned around and walked away from Second's cell towards me. "Alpha Connor, anyone with unfavorable intentions will not be able to open that cell. Also make sure your men allow the trucks to enter Salty Moon Forest so the black wolf can make good her promise. Now, let's go shopping. I need a good suit for tonight's ceremony."

*Eric Lockwood*
I got dressed into one of my favorite suits. I had to make a good impression to the High Lord Wolf. I had to show him I had the upper hand.
I went downstairs pleased with myself. My wound didn't hurt as bad as before thanks to the pack doctor and I had a feeling Lotus Pack territory will be a battle field later tonight. I prayed silently that among the casualties will be my granddaughter. A sniper or two with silver bullets should do the trick.
"Mother, you can sit here if you want. Do you want some coffee or juice?" Athena said. I stopped near the foot of the stairs. Mother? She was dead. Who was Athena talking to?
I walked down the remaining steps of the staircase and went directly to the dining room, scanning the people who were seated at the table. There were two women seated with their backs towards me who had silver in their hair. I sniffed deeply. I may not have loved my mate all that much, but I could never forget her scent. She always smelled like newly laundered cotton. Fresh.
"J-j-josephine? Is that really you? How is this possible? I buried you." I was so surprised I stuttered. She turned her head and smiled meekly at me. She looked nervous even scared.
"Uhm, hello Eric. It's been a long time. How are you?" She asked softly. I felt the rage bubble up inside me for being duped by my own mate.
"YOU FAKED YOUR DEATH?! YOU WERE IN CAHOOTS WITH THAT ACCOUNTANT, WEREN'T YOU?! THAT'S THE REASON YOU HAD TO LEAVE!" I grabbed her arm and pulled her from her chair so she could face me. "You just had to steal from me to support that addiction of yours. I'm not surprised you still have the gall to face me after what you did to me. I should just kill you right here."
"You will do no such thing, Grandfather. Nana has been invited to stay," Diana said. Nana?! I let go of Josephine's arm and turned to face the so-called black wolf. She may have threatened me a while ago, but they were empty threats.
"I will not allow her to stay here. She is a traitor and should be banished," I argued.
"What do you call yourself? A model pack member?" Diana's mate, Ethan, replied. "Do you really want to lose the use of your legs, Elder Lockwood? If you don't, you better calm down and shut up."
"Father, mother's place is here. With us," Lucas finally appeared, showered and in a suit. "I invited her to live with me."
"Mother is alive?!" Chase ran down the steps and rushed towards the dining table towards Josephine. "Mother, it is so good to see you." Go figure. Chase always clung to his mother's skirt when he was young. Seeing him like this made my skin crawl.
"Lucas, have Michael fetch the car. I want to leave now," I said, defeated.
"Michael is already in the front of the mansion waiting," Lucas answered, pointing to the front of the mansion.
I walked outside, slamming the door behind me. I was no longer welcomed in my own house. I needed to find a new place to stay.
Michael was patiently standing beside the car. He was in a dark blue suit with a black overcoat looking like the Beta he used to be. He opened the door and gestured for me to enter the car.
"Elder Lockwood, one wrong move and I will break your neck. I actually want to break your neck now to avenge the death of my parents, but Diana still has use for you." I walked to the car door, ignoring him. As I approached, he whispered in my ear, "The black wolf has promised me I will get my vengeance and the black wolf always delivers. Your downfall is inevitable."
