Chapter 22 Fumigation

Who wouldn t be when everyone was in darkness concerning David
I was actually happy when I heard what he said
He actually meant the leaf
"No, it s not what you think" David replied
"Whatever, I will call you later" Jenny said and hung up
"Don t worry, it s not what you think, I still have Bonny" I said and meant to walk away
"Can we drop you off?" She requested
I had to find somehow to tease her
"I won t be throwing up any sooner, I didn t take the drink" I said
"Stop playing around, I meant nothing dangerous" she responded
"Just kidding" I said smiling
Just then, her driver drove in
"I don t even have an idea of where to take a bus from here, and this is your first request" I said
"You got a lot to kid with, we know that the bus will be leaving very soon" she said
It was true but I didn t want to wait any longer because I had to help my Uncle out
"Let s go then" I said
We got into her car and the driver drove off
"So tell me, for how long have you guys been dating?" She asked
I smiled because she was curious
"I haven t accepted him yet" I replied
"Why?" She asked
"Because of the same reason you made him to throw up" I replied
"I hope you aren t getting me wrong?" She indirectly asked
"I never did, just wanted to confirm" I replied

….. Bonny POV ??
The following day, I called Dorothy to know if she would meet me
I had to act fast so that I could clear Jason s doubt
She declined it saying that she was busy
I knew that she was just trying to avoid me that day but I could get her if I approach her Uncle
He never thought bad about me
I was dressing up for her when Jason s call came in
I picked it up and noticed that it was a conference call
Sam and Andy were already connected
My heart skipped a beat because I thought it was because of what I was planning
And I wasn t ready to tell them
I always want to surprise people
"It s boring here" Jason said
"It s general, I wonder how long it will take" I said
"My fear is that Bonny might fall in love during this game" Andy said
"I never intend to" I responded
"Nobody intend to" Sam said
"Love always occur" Sam added
I began to think all of a sudden
It was really memorable being with Dorothy but that couldn t stop me from doing what I had to do
It was just for her to tell me the truth

…. Jenny POV ??
It was just a day and I was already missing David
Although it was just a normal Saturday that we all do stay at home without seeing each other
But since I knew it was another thing which was David travelling and would be staying the whole week
I wondered how I would go throughout the one week
I was still thinking when my phone began to ring
It was an unknown number
"Hello" a deep voice said
I became nervous who it could be
"Why aren t you responding?" The voice asked
"Who is this?" I asked back
"Are you scared already" the voice changed to a familiar one and began to laugh
"David?" I called slowly
"That s me, did I really scared you?" He asked
"I can t tell what you actually did" I replied
"So this is your line?" I asked
"Yes, I just want to know how you are feeling" he said
"It was really boring here" I replied
Being boring then but since his call came in, I felt better
"The same here, I just wish this one week would go faster than this" he said
"Me too, am already getting tired" I replied
"Let s switch over to video?" He requested
I smiled because that was what I expected
I turned to check out myself on the mirror and I was good to go

…. Dorothy POV ??
I found myself in the middle of nowhere
It was really scaring me
I looked around but it seems like no one was there
Soon, a hand touched me
I screamed jumping to another line
I turned around and a light shown from nowhere but it looks like everywhere was clear
It was Zita standing there
Her mouth was filled with bloods
Her face was divided into two parts as bloods were flowing down from there
Her chest was just bloods
"Zita, are you coming back?" I asked as tears couldn t stop flowing down from my eyes
"It is already late" she replied
She was also crying
"Please, I hope you can" I said
"Just tell me to rest in peace" she requested crying
"I can t let you go"
"I still can t come back, I could only rest if you just wish me that" she said
"Okay, rest in peace" I burst out crying
"I have another request that can make me to rest" she said
"I can do anything for you" I responded still crying
"Save David, I know that you can t stand to love him but I need someone that can love him and make everything less heavy for him" she said
"It s difficult to find but I will surely do that" I replied
"He need love because the worst is about to start" she said
"Please save David" she added and slowly, she vanished
"Zita" I called slowly
Tears were flowing down gently
I felt a hand touching me
I found myself on the bed
I turned slowly to where the hand was coming from
It was my Uncle
"You saw her?" He asked
"Yes, I did" I replied
"She asked me to save David" I added
"She truly love him, that s why the demon acted fast" my Uncle said
"We need to do something, I guess David isn t safe" I said
"Don t worry, I will be going there by weekend" my Uncle

…. Faith POV ??
I was with the queen mother in my residence, discussing about my work, when that demon shows up
"I am sure that when she looses the gift, killing her would be easy" the queen mother had said
"That makes us to be in the same shoe" the demon said
I turned to look at her
"I have told you to stay clear off" the queen mother warned the demon
"You still can t achieve that without me" the demon said
"You are coming to us because the guy has gotten what disturbs you, you can no longer meet him" the queen mother said
"Even if she lose her gift, your daughter won t be able to get on Dorothy because she still has the leaf" the demon said
"Even the girl in queen is also an obstacle to me" the demon added
"Then try what you got" the queen mother responded
"I can t access to him anymore because of her, let s use Faith and work together" the demon said
"Remember we are planning on Jason" the demon added
"I can t be deceived because I know you" the queen mother said
"Let s keep the past aside and work together, we can go our separate ways when we achieve this" the demon said
"Let s join hand and destroy those that would destroy us later" the demon added
"I will only accept this because you always have a plan" the queen mother said
"Let s kill Dorothy first, then we can plan on another thing" the demon said
"She is already in it" the queen mother replied
"I can handle her" I said

…. David POV ??
It was Monday morning and it was already boring
It was said that my Dad would be celebrated for the whole week
We buried him on that Saturday
I wore my all black and was in my room spending my time in gaming
Jenny came into my mind
I was missing her
Her company
Her gist
I began to think back then, when I first came to the school
How attracted she was to me
When she screamed, making me to think that she do see demons
How she started avoiding me but later decided to speak with me
How the demon wanted to kill her first but it was still unknown to me how she left
I was brought back to life when my phone began to ring
"Oh" I simply said as I reached out to it
It was Jenny
She supposed to be in school by then, why would she be calling? I asked myself before picking up
"Hey" I said smiling
"Good morning, how are you doing over there?" She asked
I was forced to smile the more
"Am good, you are supposed to be in class by now?" I indirectly asked
"I didn t go to school today" she replied
"Ah, why? What happened?" I asked because I was scared
"It would be boring going there, no one to chat with, I just can t" she replied
"How possible?" I asked still not believing it
"Am serious, a second" she said
And the next thing I saw was a "switch over to video" request
I turned to the mirror in my room
I wasn t looking bad
I accepted it and it was true that she was at home
"What really happened?" I asked looking straight at her
"I can t go alone, I would miss you more like I do now" she replied
I had to smile for her to feel better
Of course, she smiled back
"I miss you too" I replied
"So how is Dorothy, have you heard from her?" I asked
I could see her face changed a bit

I felt jealous somehow when I heard that, but I had no reason to
It was not like he has asked me out or something like that
And also they had been friends before I came in
"I didn t go to school today, remember" I simply said
"Don t get me wrong" he said
"I didn t but you can see it" I responded
"So how is Mom?" I asked, just to change the topic
"She s good, she is downstairs, she is attending to our visitors" he replied
"Why aren t you with her, at least you get to know some people, more?" I asked
"Am already tired of it, since we arrived here" he replied and made a sigh of relief
It was true that he was really tired
"Have Jason called?" That question was something else
I thought maybe that was the reason he never asked me out

I was with the queen mother as usual in my residence
It seems like she loves coming, unlike before
"I just want to know the truth" I said picking up a conversation with her
"Which truth are you talking about?" She asked
"There must be a reason why you accepted the demon" I responded
"Working with her can make the work easier" she responded
"I thought we aren t after the same field" I indirectly asked
"It may seem like, but our intentions are somehow familiar" she replied
"If that s true, why did you rejected it earlier?" I asked
"She always has two minds, she always has something in return" the queen mother replied
"So how will you know that she doesn t?" I asked
"Am not trusting her but I am trying her" the queen mother replied
"About David" I paused
"What about him?" The queen mother asked
"Why did she chose to posses him?" I asked
The queen mother waited for some minutes
"The same reason why I want Jason dead" she replied
My heart raced a little
Talking about Jason s dead scares me
It was clear that I couldn t have him because we were from different world but I wouldn t be happy seeing him dead
I wished to stop her but I don t know how
"But she isn t killing her either?" I asked
"As far as she posses him, his life will be counting down" the queen mother replied
"But why do you want them dead?" I asked
I was curious about Jason
"That s what you will know later" she said
"After his death" she added
"But can t there be another way apart from killing him?" I asked
"No other way"
"I know that you have feelings for him, better get rid of it" she warned
"It s hard" I said
"Then it will be risky and dangerous" she said
I bent down for a while in thought
An idea bumped into my mind
"I have to go now" the queen mother said and meant to disappear
"Please wait" I interrupted standing up from where I was
She stopped
"I have a request" I said
"Which request?" She asked
"If Jason dies, can he be with us here?" I asked
She narrowed her eyes a little bit
She thought for a while before smiling
"You already know that this place isn t a place after death" the queen mother said or rather asked
"I for say, that s why no one else has ever come here" I said
"Exactly" the queen mother said
"So what if I grant that request?" She asked
"Then I will kill both of them as you demanded" I replied
She smiled for a while
"I will grant that" she said and disappeared
I couldn t stop smiling
I had to act fast
No matter how
But Dorothy needs to loose her gift first

That Monday was somehow different
David was not supposed to come because he went for his father s burial
Jason didn t come because of his sister
Jenny was whom I don t know what really happened about her
I guessed maybe it was because of David
It was becoming clear to me how boring life is when friends are far from you
Bonny touched me
I guessed he has been observing me
"Dor-Dor" he said
"What are you thinking about?" He asked
"Life" I replied
He smiled
"What about life?" He asked as he sat beside me
"A lot" I replied looking at my fingers which was on the desk
"Let me ease it for you" he requested as he places his hand on mine
"How?" I asked smiling as I turned to look at him
"I have something prepared, let s eat something then" he said
I smiled

…. Bonny POV ??
I had already made plans
I ordered for some food and drink for both me and Dorothy
It was served and I personally puts the gum that girl gave me
I put it on a particular drink and I could recognize it before I went to the class for Dorothy
Now we are already back to the cafeteria
We started eating gently even without saying a word
I thought maybe I should grab my drink first before Dorothy does
So that she would definitely take the other one which I puts it in
I was about to the take the drink but she has already taken it
"I specifically ordered that red wine because I thought ladies prefer blue wine" I said for her to drop the drink
"I don t know why am always different" she said instead
"How do you mean?" I asked not getting her well
"I love red wine" she replied
"Can t I have yours, maybe you can take mine" she added
If I was to push further on that, she would suspect me
So I had to let it go
I took the poison drink and poured it out in a washing hand bowl beside our seat
I was really angry because I don t know how to get the gum again
I wished to meet the girl again
"Oh, what s the problem?" She asked
I had to comply by smiling
"I just want us to be one, since you don t like it, then I don t have to" I lied with a smile
It was dismissal, I dropped Dorothy off at her Uncle s shop
After exchanging greetings with her Uncle, I got back to my car and thought for a while
How I failed earlier
I wondered if she noticed it
I ignited the engine and drove off
I got to a snack shop and parked
I got some snacks and went back to my car
I entered and was surprised on who I saw there
It was the same girl that gave me the gum stuff
"How did you get here?" I asked really scared
"Does it matter, am just here to know about what I asked you to do" she said
"I haven t been able to do it" I replied
"Wha!" She shouted
I became shocked
Why would she be angry as if it was for her
"Why are you angry, are you sure the thing is really what you said it was for?" I asked because I was still confused
"It has an expiring date and I also have something that I will like to hear from her because she has been keeping it a secret" she replied
"Oh, I see but why didn t you give her by yourself?" I asked
To clear doubt
"I can t come to her because she is still angry with me" she replied
"About what?" I asked
"I can t tell, I think she has a problem with my Mom before she died, and she refused telling me what really happened, so I want to know about it" she replied
"Oh, I see, I will have to be fast then but I don t have the gum again, she didn t take the one I puts it in" I said
"I thought as much, it is only two" she said and dipped her hand inside her bag
"Take" she added giving it to me
I smiled and collected it
I really need it

…. Jason POV ??
The following day which was on Sunday, we were sadly sitting in the balcony when COP Kelly walked in
Only himself
We greeted ourselves as usual and he sat
"We were able to get down the thumbprint of the killer but unfortunately, it is just a demon" COP Kelly said
"A demon? And camera was able to capture it?" My Dad asked
"I believe that it uses someone" COP Kelly said as he brought out some papers
"Take a look" he added handing it over to my Dad
We all focused on the picture
His face was very scary
The first picture was just his face and shoulder
The second picture was his fingers which was only claws
The third and last one was his toe
"From that, we are able to get down his full picture" COP Kelly said as he gave us the full picture of the demon in human body
I recognized his statue as someone I knew
But I couldn t figure it out
" But how did you get to know that he was possessed?" I asked
"This is the thing that we have been doing and we have found with a lot of them, so you don t have to doubt me" COP Kelly replied
"Am not doubting you but I am just curious to know, because I might meet him on a very good day" I said

…. Dorothy POV ??
I sat in front of our house and was totally down thinking about what happened the previous day
David was seriously changing as time goes on but I was clueless about anything that would put a stop to that
"You should not kill yourself with thinking" my Uncle said interrupting me from my thought
I positioned a seat for him to sit but he waved his finger, showing that he doesn t want to sit
"Uncle you won t understand" I responded really worried
"I understand" he said
"He killed someone yesterday" I said
"Who could that be?" My Uncle asked
I could tell that he was shocked
"A sister to one of our classmate" I replied
"The demon is really serious, I think the demon is for revenge" my Uncle said
"Revenge? On him?" I asked
"It can t be on him because the demon would have killed him if it really came for him" my Uncle replied
"But why would it be using him?" I asked as if the demon told him
"I can t tell" he replied
"We need to do something about it" I said
"It s really tormenting him" I added
"Am planning on that" my Uncle said
"That s great, so can I have a clue on that?" I requested
"Not yet but you will soon know" my Uncle said
I seriously need to do something
I knew that it was already late for Zita but for the sake of others
"I have made your lunch" my Uncle said
Seriously I was the only one who usually do our meals but helping me this day was great
"so go and eat for strength" he added smiling
I smiled back
I stood up from where I was and went for my meal
He prepared my favorite
I smiled and carried it to my room
My phone began to ring
It was Bonny
I hissed slowly before picking up
"Hello sweetie" he cheered
"Good afternoon" I greeted instead
"You didn t sound, what s the problem?" He asked
"Nothing, just waking up from sleep" I lied
"Okay, Jason s father suspected you yesterday because of the way you left when we almost met with them" he said
I wasn t bothered because I wasn t thinking straight
"He will be coming to our school this week, after two years since he last came to our school" Bonny added
"What s he coming to do?" I asked for it not to look as if I was boring
"He has been of great help to our school and he is well respected and feared, so he is coming to meet the principal because the principal haven t met him, I guess he had an issue with Jason" he replied
"Is like he is a troublesome person?" I asked because that was what I noticed from his response
"Exactly but you can t do anything to him" he replied
"Oh, I see, that s too bad" I said
"You just have to stay away when he comes" Bonny said
He seems to be caring

…. Victor POV ??
After Sunday services and a little movement, I was in our big apartment all alone but with the gateman
I paid a full concentration on the program going on in the TV
After some minutes, the gateman informed me that someone was looking for me which I told him to let the person in
Not too far, the man walked in
He looked familiar but I wasn t sure of it
"Good afternoon" we greeted ourselves at the same time
"Please sit down" I offered him a seat
"So what can I offer you?" I asked which was normal
"Anything liquid" he replied
I went to my fridge but I couldn t choose one
I took out two wines and two glasses
I walked back to him and dropped the two wines in the middle and the two glasses, one before him and the other one before me
"Am just confused on which one to bring for you, so I took the two" I said while he smiled
"I will introduce myself and after that, you will just choose by yourself" he said
I nodded in agreement
"My name is Patrick and I am working in your company" he introduced
."oh, your face actually looks familiar to me" I said
"I am a demon fighter" he said
My eyes widened
What was he saying
"But am not a demon" I said
"Am not saying that you are, just that after my explanation, you will have to choose one wine from what you learnt" he responded
"Okay then, continue" I said
"I have been fighting demons right from time and I have never lost, the power behind my conquer is black" he paused
"I always make use of red and black because black isn t blood but red is, and once the demon sees it, it would obey, simply because you have the two colors which stands for human blood and their blood, I mean demons bloods are read and they would think that you are the two s" he added
"Strange" I said
"So choose" he requested
And what I brought was red and black wine
"Does it mean that I have to mix both of them?" I asked
"You are really smart, that s it" he replied
I smiled and mixed both of them in his glass
I did the same in mine
"Cheers" he said as he took his glass of wine
I did the same and we hits the glasses slightly
"Don t forget to use it" he said
Seriously, I was confused
"Are you planning on confusing me?" I asked while he smiled
"I actually came for because I noticed something about you" he said
"Which thing?" I asked
"It s born in you" he said instead
"What?" I asked
He stood up instead
"We will have time to talk on that another day but I have a mission to embark on" he said and walked out
I was just confused not understanding the man
Just then, David s call came in
It was a video call
I smiled and picked it up
"Hey" I said
"Hey, you seriously don t want to come back?" He asked
I laughed a little
"She is gone but when I get over it, I might come down" I replied although wasn t sure of it
"It s painful I know, by the way, how is that area, everybody is missing you here" too many things came out from him
I felt a present of something around David
He also looked up
He turned and noticed that I was also looking but the thing was gone
"Any problem?" He asked
I had to use a smile to cover it up
