*****CHAPTER 58

DRAVEN’S POV

I was in my chambers, lost in my thoughts as I have always been these past few days. After my little findings about Alcot and Luna Adeline, I have been in my feelings about everything.

I have thought of different ways to find answers to show me I am not crazy but everything I came up with brought me no answers.

As I lay down, a knock on the door brought me back to reality. The knock was gentle and I only thought of Kendall as I guessed who was by the door. She has been trying to know what my thoughts were about but I had doubts about letting her in.

“Coming,” I said as I stood up to answer the door.

I opened my door and I saw it was Pearl. She was with me for lunch, but I was surprised because she usually doesn't serve me lunch or any food.

Pearl just stood there waiting for me to open the door and let her in as I stared at her. She looked so cute, she was the only one I had let in even though it was indirectly.

“Can I come in?” she said as stared back at me

“Yes! Come in” I said almost immediately as I opened the door.

I helped her with the food tray and she smiled at me.

“I brought you your food because I wanted to see you,” she said with a smile on her beautiful face

“I was surprised when I saw you by the door” I replied as I smiled back

“How are you, Pearl?” “I think I might have missed you,” I said sarcastically

“You, Draven? Miss me?” she replied as she let out a little laugh

“Are you saying I can't miss you,” he said

“Are you doing well Draven,” she asked genuinely

I loved talking to Pearl, I forgot about all my worries immediately after I saw her. I have missed her a lot. I was very happy that she was back in the palace.

“I am doing well, how is your Mother feeling now,” I ask her as I sit on the bed and signal to her to sit on the bed too.

“She is very fine now,” she said
“I brought you food so you have to eat it,” she added pointing to the food

“I will eat Pearl,” I assured her. I was hungry and was going to eat but the only thing I wanted now was to talk to Pearl, I wanted all my attention to be on Pearl.

I had a connection I couldn't explain with Pearl. And that was the only thing that brought me peace in this palace.

“Did you miss the palace while you were away?” I asked her

“No,” “I did not. I prefer the village where no one cares about what you do or what status you had” “There was a lot of attention here in the palace Draven and everybody was in everybody's business” she said

She wasn't wrong, the palace was the center of attention only people with high status enjoyed the palace. I didn't like the palace though, the number of dimwits here was alarming.

“That is true.” So are you saying the palace has no good thing?” I asked her, trying to make a conversation with her.

“Even if there was any, the bad things are more than the good” she replied

“I know but I would like you to tell me the good things,” I said

“The good thing about the palace should be love,” she said

“Love?” I replied with curiosity

“Yes,” she answered back

What did she mean by love I ask myself, I was definitely going to ask her more questions but that means we were going to discuss love.

“Do you mean love in terms of an affair?” I ask

“Yes. Even though that can be found in the village too I still think it's a good thing that it can be found in the palace also” she stated

“So you love someone” “That is what you are saying?” I asked

“I am not saying I love someone, I am only saying that at least love is present in the palace and it makes it better,” she said

Love was a big thing. I have never thought of myself being in love. I just wanted to go through life and rest when I am old and unable to do anything anymore.

“Do you believe in love?” she asks me

Do I believe In love I ask myself? Of course, I do.

“Yes I do Pearl, do you believe in love?” I ask her

She looked at me and I stared at her, noticing her lips. They were darker than usual today. She wore a black dress that compliments her dark hair as she licks her lower lips. I was lost as I looked at her, I wanted her lips on mine. I Waited for her answer as she finally let go of her lips.

She always licks her lower lip when she feels tense, I noticed some time ago.

“I do.” “I believe in love,” she finally lets out

I went closer to her as I let my mind get the best of me. I put my hand around her waist and dragged her closer. I could feel her breath on me as she was so close and head close to mine and I went closer to close the space between us and put my lips on hers.

She tasted like lemon tea, she must have had some before coming here as I kissed her so deeply. She put her hands in my hair and I pulled her lower lip in as she let a little silent moan out.

I wanted her to moan again. I kissed her like it was the only thing I ever wanted on earth, and she kissed me back as we shared our breaths. It was so passionate and we maintained the position for several minutes.

We stopped kissing as we gasped for breath. She smiled at me and left the room, leaving her lemon tea taste in my mouth and her thoughts in my mind. I lay down as I thought about Pearl and how I think I might have fallen in live with her.
