Chapter Forty Eight
I roll my eyes.
“Because that’s your surprise! It means that we’re having a baby,Xander , and the blue interior means that it’s a boy.”
My boyfriend’s mouth drops open and he stares at me.
“Are you serious,Sophia? I’m going to be a father?”
I nod, bouncing on the heels of my feet in excitement.
“Yes, I just found out yesterday! I took a pregnancy test and I’m definitely pregnant,Xander . We’re pregnant. You’re going to be a daddy.”
He whoops and pulls me into his arms then, dancing around a bit.
“A baby! A baby!” he keeps repeating, beyond excited for this moment. But then, Xander lets out a growl and pulls me closer to him, devouring my mouth with his own. “Thank you honey,” he rasps. “This means so much to me. This is the best gift a woman can give a man, and I appreciate it.”
I moan into his kiss, my knees going weak as I melt into his broad chest.
“I’m so glad you’re happy,” I murmur. But then I straighten. “How do you think Sassy is going to feel about being a big sister? I mean, she’s going to have over twenty years on her new sibling, so it’s a little crazy right?”
My boyfriend smiles and rolls his eyes.
“Honestly, my daughter’s so busy dating up a storm that she probably won’t even realize that she has a new sibling,” he says in a rueful tone, causing me to giggle. “But honestly, I think she’ll be thrilled. She’s been asking me for a sibling ever since she could talk,” he says in a meaningful tone.
“Really?” I gasp.
“Really,” he confirms. “That’s how persistent my daughter is.”
I nod because I know my friend.
“Speaking of which, what is Sassy up to?” I ask curiously. “I haven’t talked to her in a while and would love the skinny.”
My boyfriend merely shakes his head.
“Well, she quit Four Eyes obviously, and found a new job. At a sperm donation clinic,” he adds in an ominous tone.
I raise my brows, giggling a little. “Are you serious? Sperm donation? You mean—”
“Not another word,” Xander puts up a hand up to stop me from going further. “I don’t even want to know what she does at her job because I tell myself that it’s all paperwork. That’s all my daughter’s doing. Typing at a computer and filing papers,” he states.
“Okay, okay,” I laugh. “Although I’m definitely going to ask Sassy more about this new position. My goodness! It must be so interesting.”
But then I look over at my boyfriend, and for some reason, he’s slithered down on the kitchen floor.
“What are you doing?” I ask. “The cake wasn’t that bad, was it?”
But Sasssy merely takes a knee, his handsome features pensive yet glowing as he proffers a beautiful diamond ring towards me.
“I have a surprise for you too,Sophia,” he begins with a wink. “But it’s probably not much of a surprise because you know how much I adore you, and now that we’re having a baby, it seems the timing couldn’t be more perfect.” Then, he chuckles before taking a deep breath. “You’re pure perfection, Sophia. A man like me would be lucky to have a woman like you by his side because you’re everything that I could possibly want in a partner and more. You’re beautiful, sweet, smart, funny, sassy and witty, with curves that makes my mouth water. In short, you’re the woman of my dreams,Sophia , and I’d love to call you mine for the rest of my life. So will you, honey? I love you with all my heart, so would you consider doing me the honor of becoming Mrs Xander ?”
Sophia's POV
I’m speechless because I’ve always wanted to get married to my Prince Charming, and now it’s actually happening. This is the man who literally saved my life during a gunfight. He’s provided a stable home for me, and put a baby in my belly, and now he wants to make our relationship permanent. How can I say no? I’ve truly found someone who adores me, and I know that I want this so much.
“Yes,” I murmur with tears in my eyes. “Yes, I will. I’d love to become your wife,Xander .”
With that, the handsome man slips the ring onto my finger, where it sparkles brightly. We both admire the gem for a moment before he stands, and presses a hungry kiss to my lips.
“I love you, Mrs. Xander-to-be,” he murmurs. “And now I want to show you just how much.”
I giggle as his hand roams down my back before cupping my large rear end.
“Oh really? How much do you want to show me?”
He grins, those blue eyes dancing.
“Well, it just so happens that I still have that big black dildo that I caught you with the first time we met. Care to do a re-enactment of that naughty scene, baby girl? I think it’s fitting, don’t you? We’re coming full circle of a sort.”
I laugh merrily while wrapping my arms around my fiancé’s neck.
“Let’s do it,” I breathe. “I’ll race you up the stairs, Mr. C
Xander.”
And with that, we’re off to more laughter, more love, and more passion as we build our lives together.
