Chapter 28: The Haughty Receptionist

Diana came out of the mansion, she looked around, and didn't know which direction she should go.

She looked stuck in the street, the cold night breeze, swept towards her, and her hair fluttered with the wind, she shivered and hugged herself, and strode away.

She walked towards the direction of the mansion, after a long night walk in the street, under the streetlights, she entered a taxi, and the driver drove her towards the beach.

The driver stepped on the brake, and turned around “Ma'am, we are here, pay me” the driver requested, Diana looked perplex, she didn't know how to pay for her transport.

She quickly opened the back seat, and ran out of the car, “hey, what the fuck! Pay me!!” the driver yelled on top of his voice, and alighted from the car.

Diana saw the person standing before the sea, and ran to him, she hugged him from behind, Regan sighed heavily, he turned around when he continued hearing someone shouting from behind.

Diana hid at his back, “pay me!” the driver screamed crazily, rushing at them, Regan realize he left Diana penniless “hold on, I will pay for her” he stopped the driver, that wanted to pounce on Diana.

The driver was infuriated “are you the one going to pay me?” he questioned, Diana lips curled up angrily, she ducked behind his back “how much is it? I am going to pay you” Regan responded.

The driver mentioned the amount, Regan paid more, “I am sorry, she didn't mean to do that” he tried to placate the driver, but he stormed off, cursing under his breath.

Regan teared his eyes from the retreating figure of the driver, and turned to Diana, she was shivering, he took off his coat, and wrapped it around her body.

Diana looked straight at him “were you the one who sent those bees?” she asked, Regan hesitated, having a bad premonition about the conversation.

He reluctantly nodded, “I am sorry, Diana, I wanted to stop it, our plans were failing. The event was too prompt and the entire thi…” he tried to explain desperately.

But Diana began to sob, he held her arms tenderly “Diana, I am sorry, don't cry” he attempted to comfort her.

Diana's heart twitched painfully, “Regan, do you even care about my feelings? Do you even know how I feel? Do you know I am hurting? You aren't even concerned with my feelings, you do things the way you like, I am always fucked by your incessant fight mongering…” she rambled with her words.

Regan's heart twitched painfully, he knew she will break down any moment, he embraced her “I am sorry, Diana, I am doing all these for you, I won't be able to stay here for so long” he told her.

Diana pulled herself from the embrace, and stared at him without blinking, “what do you mean that you won't be here for a long time?” she asked.

Regan looked away, “let's go home, you are going to get sick” he told her.

Regan took her arm, and led her away, she was silent, the both of them walked to the underneath house.

He prepared a warm bath for her, after she finished bathing, he made sure, the room is warm, he covered her in a duvet.

Diana turned to him "Regan, I want to see my grandfather, I would like to know how he is doing” she requested, Regan smiled softly.

“I will take you to the hospital, and look for away for us to get in” he responded, he put her to sleep, and returned to manager Duke.

He opened the door, and switched on the light, Manager Duke was already asleep, Regan chuckled “Manager Duke, I hope you enjoy the fun with the little buddy, I left behind” he muttered.

Manager Duke eyelids moved, and wanted to move, but the ropes stopped him from do so, Manager Duke grimaced at the thought of having another company.

He put his hands in his pockets and examined manager Duke staring at him coldly, “well, manager Duke, you have a visitor” he said jokingly.

And took out a snake from his dimension pocket, Manager Duke started shivering, “I will leave you to the snake” he said, and walked away.

Manager Duke started screaming, and wailing, the next morning, Diana was up early, even before Regan could prepare breakfast.

The both of them were silent, but their silence spoke volumes, after they had breakfast, Regan drove her to the hospital.

The place was tightly secured, Diana swept her gaze around and saw security men moving around the hospital premises.

“Regan, we won't be able to go in undetected” she voiced her fear, Regan sighed heavily, and remembered that Regan was still not in her normal form.

Regan transformed her, to her real self, in a storeroom, the two of them came out, and approached the receptionist, handling visitors.

“Hello, sir, are you here to see your loved one admitted into the hospital?” she asked with a professional smile, she totally ignored Diana, like she wasn't there at all.

Diana seeing that the receptionist took a liking for Regan, she became protective and wade in, the receptionist was gawking at Regan without restrain.

“Ma, I want you to take me to the ward of the Westley, I want to see my grandfather” she spoke up.

The receptionist frowned, even the presence of the patient she was mentioning was classified, and no one is allowed to know anything about it.

The receptionist looked at her condescending with a big frown on her face, “who are you to Mr. Westley? Why are you asking for him, security” she started ranting?

Three burly men, stepped forward and tried to seize her, Regan stepped in “she is a Westley, don't you know, she is Diana” he told the two security men who were about to pounce on Diana.

They froze in their steps, they remembered that the Westley daughter had an accident that ruined her beauty, quickly, without saying a word, they retreated, leaving the receptionist dumbfounded.
