Chapter Forty One-Savannah
After a month of being alone in my bed, the Season returned, and my whole ached with need. Logan denied me my divorce, but it hardly mattered. I lived my life the way I wished again, anyway.
The hot water poured down my body and around the mouth that worked my clit in the shower. I couldn’t bring myself to go all the way yet, but this was good, too.
She was just the way I liked my lovers. Her bronze skin moved against my body, and her black hair tickled my thighs. I took my time with her. These kinds of tongues don’t grow on trees, and I wanted it to last as long as possible.
A cool breeze rushed into the bathroom, and when I looked up from my exotic beauty, I found Jacob standing there. Unlike Logan, who would have torn the house apart about by now, Jacob smiled and closed the door. “When Haldir told me you were in the shower with a friend, I got to admit, I wasn’t expecting this.”
I growled at his intrusion when he opened the glass door and leaned inside. “For fuck’s sake, either get in and participate or shut the door. You’re letting all the heat out.”
His shirt was off in an instant, and his head shook at the sight of it all. “I’m not turning down that kind of invitation.” He shook out his hands as he came to me, not sure if this was all real. “Dammit, if this is a dream, please, don’t wake me up.”
I pulled my woman free of me and tilted my head to the bench. “Enjoy the show.”
I slid down onto his lap, and it was like every dead place inside me woke up instantly. I rocked back and forth on top of him and motioned for my friend to continue.
She rested on her knees and rubbed circles on me until I got the rhythm down right. She’d handled my body a hundred times, and she knew every curve and her tongue found each one. Each time I rocked up off Jacob, her tongue found his cock, and I heard the shiver in his breath as it blew across my breast.
With his arm around my shoulders, he pulled me back to his chest so he could see the three of us moving together. But this was my Season, my home, and my money. “Get to work, Trixy.”
Jacob and I came together, and she bathed us clean with the most talented tongue I’d ever known. As he panted against my neck and his soft lips pressed the mark he made, I lifted my chin to the door. “Thank you for your time, but I think I’m booked for the rest of the day.”

I couldn’t peel the grin off Jacob’s face with a razor blade, and as we sat at the table at the bistro, his cheeks blushed just a little. “I didn’t.” He pushed himself back in his chair, and his hand rubbed at his chin. “I didn’t realize you’re bisexual.”
I shrugged as I watched the people pass by. “I’m not. I’m just me, and I like what I like. I never quite know what it’s going to be until I see it.”
He squinted at me before looking away. “Is she like your girlfriend?”
I laughed for just a second. Trixy was possibly the best and most expensive prostitute in the South, and I’d spent more money on her than I could remember. “Well, she’s been around a while, and she doesn’t give me any drama, so…” Rolling my fingernails along the table, I shook my head at him. “So, why are you here, exactly?’
He leaned across the table, and the whole sidewalk vibrated with his knee as it bounced. “You were right about me. My whole life, I’ve been trained to protect Logan. To make things easy for him.”
He held his hand by his head. “That he’s here.” His hand fell to his lap. “And everyone else is down here.” He cleared his throat and peeked up at me. “When we realized you were ours, I knew what that would mean. I knew that the only way I could ever have you was to keep my mouth shut.”
He nodded at the choice he made. “I did what I had to do. He never would have let me within a country mile of you otherwise.”
His tongue slid between his lips, and his eyes were pools of tears. “He might even have killed me.” He smiled as he nodded, but soon he was wiping tears from his cheek. “I know he would’ve. We’re not like your kind, Tessa. We’re pack animals. There’s an order to things and Logan’s right at the top of the food chain. This is just
the way things are, and I’ll never be in a position to change it.”
A hand slid across the table and joined mine, his ring still on his finger. “But I can’t be part of that life anymore. I can’t live a life that makes you miserable. What we did to you, what we expected of you, was wrong, and I’m sorry I didn’t stand up for you when you needed me.” His fingers curled around mine. “I want to stay here with you, Tess. Wherever you are, I want to be there. All I got is what I packed in my car, and I got nothing to offer you other than me. But I’m all yours if you want me.”
My lip squished between my teeth as I thought it over. “You’d really give up all that for me? Your family? Your heritage? Your position? I’m not sure I believe all that.”
I trilled my lips and rubbed at my throat. “This isn’t Virginia, Jacob. Things are different here, and you might not like me so much when you find out who I really am.”
My hand sat on my chest. “I won’t live a lie again. I can’t. You either accept who I am, or you might as well turn that car around and go back to your Momma.”
His head moved back and forth. “There’s nothing left for me there. You’re my wife, and you’re here. Where else should I be?”
