Part 10 ~Imaginary~

"God damnit! Donovan cursed trying to push the door open and realizing she lay slumped over in front of it. He pushed carefully, being mindful of her unconscious body. He managed to get her moved outta the way far enough to squeeze through entering the room.
He stared down at her shaking his head and bent over lifting her limp body off the floor walking toward the bed that was covered with all her shit. He flicked his head to the side making everything float down into the floor, then carefully laid her body down.
He lowered his ear to her mouth listening to her breathing that seemed to be stable...her heartbeat was strong & steady. He knew she'd suffered an anxiety attack because of what she had seen...or what she thought she'd seen.
He would make her believe she had imagined it all, since it was a fact that the blinding effects of the snow could distort one's vision.
Yes indeed, he could make her believe that. He snapped his fingers removing all the extra clothing that covered her body, which now laid neatly on the dresser across the room.
He sat in the chair by her bed waiting patiently, his hands weaved together over his chest as he leaned back, watching her closely so he'd have time to act just in case she tried freaking out again.
30 minutes passed and he heard her mumble faintly. Her eyes slowly fluttered open.
"Wh...what? Where am I?" She murmured, holding her head.
"You had an episode and flew into a fit." He responded softly so as not to upset her further.
"Ohh God your...your eyes! She raised her voice breathing hard, staring at him as he shook his head rolling his eyes dramatically.
"Don't start that crazy shit again. You already showed your ass enough. It was a big mistake taking off into all the blinding snow like you did. Haven't you ever heard of people going snow blind before? Thankfully you didn't lose your sight...instead you saw distortions of color triggered by prolonged exposure to all that white. You can't go out in all this snow without eye protection woman." He explained in a flat tone."What exactly did you see? You spit in my damn face and yelled at me...then took off." He faked curiosity.
"Your eyes.....were a...a swirl of different colors of red.....an...and th...they kinda glowed." She trembled, her eyes full of confusion and fear.
He chuckled loudly. "Ohh wow, I'm a red eyed demon now. Good God woman! I assure you...my eyes have never been anything but gray!" He leaned forward, opening them wide in her face.
She stared at him befuddled, rubbing over her forehead gently, blinking her eyes rapidly. She slowly pulled herself up into a sitting position , feeling as if she were in a dream.
"Do not go out into that damn snow again! I do not particularly enjoy hauling you back. If you insist on trying to walk out of here as far back as we are, I won't be held responsible for your demise! So stop with these insane attempts. And....if you ever spit in my face again....I will set your goddamn ass on fire! Do you hear me!" He threatened.
Now she felt completely at fault, which is exactly what he wanted.
Shandy felt the sting of tears breaking free from her eyes as she turned her head away from him, feeling discomfited.
"I..I hear you...an...and I'm....I'm s...sorry." she cried, trying to suppress her tears the best she could, but failing miserably.
Donovan felt a slight sting to his heart for her, not knowing what to say or do.
"I'm sure you'd be much better off without me here complicating your life! I'm so sorry I'm here!" she bawled out loud, hiding her face in her hands.
"I...it's ok Shandy." He spoke softly, feeling somewhat guilty for her troubles. He reached up, lightly patting her shoulder. Her sobs became harder which jolted his heart a tad more than he anticipated.
He bent over hugging her slightly as she turned, clinging helplessly onto him.
"There....there....it's ok." He tried to soothe her muddled state...he didn't really know how to deal with a weeping female. If he were able to use his abilities, he could simply hum and calm her down promptly, but he had to do things without the use of them when it came to her...at least until she knew the full truth about everything.
He sat on the edge of her bed still holding her, and patting her back gently. She calmed, pulling back seeing beyond his brash exterior, her lips slightly parted, his heart picking up in the silence, while they gazed intently at one another.
She lowered her eyes to his mouth, wanting to feel them on hers so bad. A strong need took over her entire being as she slowly lifted her tiny fingers, unable to keep herself from caressing his warm, plush lips gently.
Donovan swallowed hard, as he was met with an amatory blast of strong emotions that rocked him to the depths of his hard heart.
Her lips lifted to meet his own, her hands tenderly holding his face, their lips meeting as they held them together breathing in each other, gasping at the feeling. Unmoving, lost in the closeness...the feeling of such sensitivity to each other completely overwhelming. A small flame was beginning to rage into a blazing inferno between the two. It felt as though they would melt into one entity.
Shandy pulled herself back, sucking in a deep breath covering her lips that felt tingly. Fear spilled over inside her from feeling so much....so fast.
"I.... I'm s...sorry." she stuttered helplessly, lowering her trembling hands to his chest, then moving them away quickly. The massive amount of emotions were something she had never felt in her life.
Donovan shot up without uttering a word, walking out into the living room sitting on the couch, his legs so weakened he could barely hold himself up on them. From head to toe his body shook with an unrecognizable force. This was killing him.... absolutely destroying him and he couldn't run nor hide from it as he wanted to, and it angered him to no end.
"Donovan!" He heard her yell.
"WHAT!?" He snapped out loud in frustration, not moving from the couch.
Shandy could hear the clear aggravation in his tone and understood why. She slipped out from under the cover walking slowly to the living room, where she'd heard his voice booming.
She had never felt so unbalanced as she stepped inside the room seeing him leaned forward, elbows propped up on his knees, head in his hands.
She walked closer, cautiously sitting next to him on the couch. Placing her hand on his arm. He jerked himself away standing up rapidly.
"I'm fucking tired of your Goddamn games woman! Ju....just get the hell away from me." He stuttered, still feeling tense from their encounter not 5 minutes ago as he blew out a long breath, running his hand over his hair madly.
She stood walking up behind him.
"Donovan I.... I'm just really unsettled about whatever this is." She admitted.
"How the fuck do you think I feel!? Huh!? I don't even like you! Your a smartass little witch with a fucked up attitude that I can not stand!" He growled out in her face causing her to flinch at his loud voice.
After the shock of his hateful comment sunk in....a madness rushed over her like a tsunami hitting land full force. She began to laugh cynically.
"I beg your pardon...you smug fuck! But do you honestly believe that I like you anymore than you like me!? Seriously!?....you must be the most ignorant...delusional creature that ever crawled upon the face of this Earth! I'm not an easy piece of ass! You prick!" She became louder and louder with each abominable word that spilled from her lips.
"Oh of course you're not! You've got a stick up your ass! You're a stuck up prude! that no fucking man will ever want!! you'll die a washed up old maid!...you damn bitch!! He bellowed, laughing loudly.
All at once Shandy hauled off and slapped his face with such force his head snapped to the side..... her hand stung badly from the hit.
Before she had a chance to baby her stinging hand, he had her slammed up against the wall with a loud thud, causing her to shriek. She shut her eyes tightly , feeling his body against hers pulsing with excessive heat & rage.
