Part 14~Reveal~

Part 14 ~Reveal~

A few days passed, Donovan & Shandy's spirits becoming more entwined. The typical cocky future King was transforming into somewhat of an actual decent human being.
Today he was planning on trying to tell her the truth. First he'd need to tell her who he was and where he came from. He only hoped that she wouldn't go stark raving mad on him and think he was crazy as hell. However he just had a feeling that he was gonna have some difficulty with trying to explain what he needed to Shandy.
There was no time like the present. Donovan took in a deep breath preparing himself for this.
"Uhmm Shandy? Sweetheart, I...I need to speak with you about something really important." He looked into her sparkling sky blue eyes which never failed to completely captivate him.
"Oh noo! Is it something bad?" She automatically jumped to conclusions, giving him a harrowing look, expecting nothing but the worse.
"No...noo, it....it's not bad, calm down girl." He chuckled nervously. "It's about me and...and who I really am. I'd like to share that with you." He smiled weakly.
Wild notions ran through Shandys mind, thinking maybe he was a criminal running from the law. Which would explain the reason why he lived so far away from civilization.
"Ok, I'm ready. Go ahead and tell me." Her voice raised anxiously.
"First I need you to stop automatically assuming the worse and have alittle faith in me woman. It's nothing bad it's just something you may not believe." He spoke with caution.
"Okay, I'm sorry....go ahead and tell me." She spoke slowly giving him an odd look.
"Remember that old book you came across in the library not so long ago?" He looked to her for acknowledgement.
"Yes, I remember. And you almost went schizo on me." She giggled.
He huffed out a tad frustrated, but managed to kept his cool. "That book is about my lineage...my kingdom, and I want you to know about it." He held her hand noting the expressions on her stunning face.
"Donovan...I'd love to know about your history." Shandy leaned closer pecking his lips tenderly, then clapping her hands together excitedly.
"Ok, I'll go get it." He stood from the couch walking away to retrieve the book of his ancestors.
He strolled back in carrying the large treatise of his kind....of their kind.
"Ok here we go." He layed the book across her legs that covered her entire lap. "Be very careful, it's extremely old and fragile." He was looking a bit concerned of how she'd handle this whole situation.
Her eyes twinkled with delight. There was nothing she adored more than books, especially very old unique ones such as this. She had never seen a book quite like this before.
Shandy gently opened the magnificent old book to the first few pages.
Donovan watched her closely for quite a few minutes, as a wide grin spread across her face then little giggles, her hand coming up to cover her mouth as if it was a silly joke.
"Donovaaaan, this book reads like a fairytale!" She laughed, rolling her eyes up to meet his.
"Ughh, it's real Shandy." He puffed out raising his hands up running them through his hair leaning back on the couch, clearly annoyed with her comment.
"Ok then...show me your powers. She folded her arms across her chest, widening her eyes and thinning her lips.
He lifted his brows staring at her. "Yea and watch you go screaming off like I'm a damn monster, the way you did that day when you saw my eyes change.
"Wha....what!? Th...that was real!?" She lay the book on the coffee table scooting away from him huddling in the corner of the couch.
"See, I told you, You'd freak out on me. Shandy...I'm not gonna hurt you; you should know that by now. Do you wanna see my powers or not? Can you even handle the truth about me?" His voice wavering at the thought of her not accepting him.
"Yes...I...I can handle it. Sh...show me." She looked at him with a hint of fear, but sucked it up trying to remain calm about this totally crazy story of a kingdom in an alternate universe...portals leading to earth. And on top of it all... magical powers.
Donovan looked at her with a slight smirk. "Well are you gonna do anything?." She scoffed. Then felt a slight breeze to her lower body as she looked down. Her pants and underwear were missing. Shandy grabbed a pillow covering her naked lower body. And jumped up shrieking.
"Gimme back my clothes!" She yelled out. He snapped his fingers and returned her pants. Snickering as he bit his lip.
He stood walking toward her. She backed away, crushing his heart with her action. "Shandy please don't do this to me." He spoke with pain in his words.
Shandy stood against the wall trying to process everything that had been layed out to her.
Donovan fell down on the couch throwing his head back, breathing out loud. "I give up." he mumbled.
It cut her deeply to see him act in such a way. She took a deep breath slowly stepping closer to him easing down on the couch as if it would pop like a giant balloon if she sat to hard.
"I'm....I'm sorry. This is just....just alot to take in. I care for you, and I...I really want to understand all this. it's just so hard to make myself believe it." She dropped her head into her hands sighing out.
"He reached out lightly touching her back, wrapping his arms around her small frame. She nestled herself into the warmth he offered. Unable to keep herself from wanting to be near him, even though all this information had knocked the wind outta her.
"Do you trust that I'm not lying about this?" He asked kissing her head and breathing in her lovely lilac/vanilla scent.
"Can you show me this kingdom of yours?" She lifted her eyes to meet his.
