Chapter 18

Every expectation Mia allowed herself to feel coming into this office was shattered. Tiny splinters and skipped far and wide unable to be glue back together. The seed of doubt was planted and while they were talking in fits of likelihood, she didn’t like hearing that there was a chance she could lose her daughter to Gabriel. It was true that she couldn’t afford to provide Amiyah with the financial comforts that her father would but she didn’t want to think of the emotional damage he would cause.

Amiyah was a means to an end to Gabriel. He spoke and played with her when he had the time and he rarely had the time. No, he rarely made the time. He was so caught up living for himself that he hadn’t for a second realised that he had someone else to live for. He had a woman’s life to shape and mould.
Mia scoffed. How could such a man teach a woman about what she deserved and shouldn’t tolerate when he viewed women as playthings amongst his toys? She was sure her daughter would be better off in an orphanage than with a father like Gabriel.

“We can move along with the divorce if you like, because once that is started everything else will roll around, however, I must advise you that the divorce will not be absolute until all matters relating to children are settled.” Nylah was oblivious to the state of Mia. She was still, the only signs of life was the subtle rise and fall of her chest.

“I think I need some time to think on this.” Her voice was strained. There was a lot to process.

“On the divorce?” Nylah clarified, pulling the sheets of paper up and aligning them together, before placing them back into the folder.

“If getting a divorce can potentially leave my daughter without my care, it’s something I need to consider.” Mia heard the sound of blood rushing to her head, her temple throbbing, her eyes glazed. Everything around her shimmered in and out of existence.

“How about this?” Nylah eased forward in her chair and brought her elbows on the desk. Nylah paused as she glimpsed the far off expression on Mia’s face. “Before you make a decision out of your many assumptions regarding your husband, you can call him and discuss matters relating to your child. You can be surprised by how much a conversation can solve.” Nylah suggested.

“I don’t know about that.” The thought of saying two words to Gabriel chilled her. The look in his eyes that night she left haunted her mind.

“The conversation may help you decide on the best route for you and your daughter.” Nylah pressed, waiting for Mia to come to a decision.

“I will consider it.” Mia replied, her legs wobbling beneath her as she stood. She’d been so confident and now she was riddled with questions, decisions and even regret. Did she act in the wrong timing?

Gabriel’s eyes roamed her neat, slender frame as she spoke. He had no need of words; he shoved her down on the hotel mattress, a tiny unsuspecting gasp escaping her lips. A deep chuckle followed as she laid her head down and straightened her legs.

“My, are we impatient today?” She droned, kitting her arms under her head and crossing her legs as she stared up at him.

“You’ve kept me waiting for too long.” He yanked off his tie and began unbuttoning his shirt. She propped herself up on her elbows and stared at him. Her eyes following each button as they became undone as if she were watching a tutorial.

“I like to build the tension.” She licked her lips. He’d shrugged his shirt off, walking off to the table at the far end of the room to lay it down neatly. She looked at the way his legs carried him. He didn’t have the most attractive gait, his movements clumsy and graceless. But she’d been with far worse men.
He pulled off his belt and trousers and made his way over to the bed. “Waiting for me to remove them for you?” he gestured at her fully clothed body.

“Yes.” She replied boldly, bringing her body up into a sitting position. He planted himself down on the bed, knee first and leaned closer to her. He pressed his lips against hers, his left hand snaking up her leg and under her skirt until he found her moist centre. His manhood, springing to life beneath his boxers.

“Someone is ready for me.” He groaned against her neck, pushing two fingers into her, her legs falling open at his touch. He pulled her blouse up and off her over her head. He discarded the fabric on the floor; he unhooked her bra, mesmerized as her breasts hung slightly. He massaged the firm mounds, his mind conjuring the image of Mia’s fuller, voluptuous curves. He’d missed them.
He took her left breasts into his mouth, his tongue running circles around her nipples as her head eased backwards, her eyes barely taking in the glass ceiling or the sight of herself being pleasured. She closed her eyes and focused on feeling, her back arching involuntarily to give him fuller access, her hands tugging at his hair.
She tugged at his boxers, “Get them off.” She rasped. Her body ready to be satisfied. He complied, pulling his boxers off while she reached behind her and unbuttoned her skirt, dragging it and her underwear off.

“On your knees.” He’d turned to see her fully naked, his engorged member begging to be plummeted into her wet core.
She paused, knowing fully well that his preferred position rarely pleased her. She turned over, pressing the palms of her hands and her knees into the bed. He grabbed hold of her hips.

“You’re still on the pill, right?” He questioned and she nodded. There was no way she would ever risk getting pregnant for a married man. Not when that man was Gabriel Evans. His exploits with women were notorious.
He sank into her from behind. A long shudder escaping them both as he pumped into her. She gasped, tiny sounds floating out of her throat, whether it was a result of his member throbbing hot and wet inside of her or whether it was due to his rhythm causing her body to become sore, she couldn’t tell. She grabbed fistfuls of the bed sheeting to keep herself balanced, her sensitivity dying by the effort she was making to stay still enough for him.

“On your back.” He growled, pulling out of her, sweat running down his neck. She rolled around and he dived in her again, pushing her legs up to rest on his shoulders. His thrusts become irregular, his body drooping until his head went back in a long sigh, his body slumping against her. He rolled off her instantly and made his way to the tiny adjoining bathroom in the hotel room to clean himself up.
She could feel the remnants of his sperm oozing out of her as she lay on the bed. She gazed towards the bathroom and rolled her eyes. It was always a hit or miss moment with Gabriel. Sometimes she finished and sometimes she didn’t. Either way, she knew her pleasure didn’t matter to him. She slipped off the bed and joined him in the bathroom to clean herself.

“Was this my prize for dealing with your wife for you?” she snaked her hands over his shoulders and pressed a kiss on his lips.
He chuckled, leaving the bathroom and walking back to bedroom. “Actually, this is.” She heard his voice without seeing him. She walked out of the bathroom, a blue box resting at the edge of the bed.

“What’s this?” She smiled, semi forgetting the throbbing in her loins. She desperately craved release.

“Open it, Nylah.” He encouraged. She pulled the box open to find a pair of diamond earrings.
She squealed at the sight of it. Gabriel always gave the best presents, it was one of the reasons she’d continued their affair for this long. That and the fact that he was married. She preferred dealing with taken men, they had no expectations of her and that was the way she liked things.

“Thank you!” she went to the mirror and pulled the ones off her earlobes to replace them with his gift.

“Are you certain Mia will change her mind?” His stood behind her, his eyes making four with her reflection’s golden orbs. Nylah’s mind ran to Mia. She was a gorgeous woman. She had sensually curved body and an innocent face. She wondered why she never found her pleasure outside of the relationship with Gabriel. Heaven knew she was more than capable of attracting other men.

“I have played on her biggest fear and gave you the opportunity to turn her doubt into confirmation.” She twisted from side to side to look at the earrings on her.

“I guess I still have a part to play.” He mused.

“If your wife leaves you it’ll be your own doing, I gave you all the tools to succeed in keeping her in the marriage.” She turned around to face him. No one wanted him to remain married more than she did. From her experience, being the woman on the outside always guaranteed a better lifestyle.
Men didn’t realise that they treated their wives and girlfriends like crap and yet they worshiped their mistresses. She had no intention of becoming a public item with Gabriel, the threat of his wife leaving forcing her to do what she could to prevent it. She was no fool. Gabriel had multiple mistresses and if his wife was successful in leaving, there was no doubt that he would turn to one of his mistresses to be his main. She couldn’t deal with that anxiety and she would be sad to see him go. He was by far the most generous fling she had; financially of course.

“How about a round two?” she tugged her hair loose and gave it a shake. “I should really thank you for my gift.”

“How about you do that on your knees?” he suggested, his eyes glowing dark.
