Chapter 61

There was an overwhelming detection of solace that penetrated Mia’s core. She had no right to feel this way, that much was comprehendible. And yet…she’d melted straight into Harvey’s arms as if she’d finally been given a whiff of fresh air after being held beneath ice cold water against her will.
Her will, what exactly was her will? She’d thought it had been to stay away from him, to come to terms with the saddening notion that Harvey Regal could never be hers and she could never be his; not entirely. While all these thoughts surged in her head she realised that she hadn’t much will power to begin with. It took one second alone with him to be back into his arms without fuss or resistance. The warmth radiating from his body crept into her trembling crevices. She was steadier against him now and despite the nagging in the back of her head telling her that she needed to push away, she tightened her grip around his waist in retaliation.

“You didn’t bring her as a date?” Mia searched his eyes, her chest constricting and her mouth running dry at the thought of him dating another woman. She had been ignoring the void in her chest that was collapsing in on itself since she saw him with Raya and now he was telling her that her assumptions were wrong. Did she dare hold out hope?

“No, Mia. She just came out of a relationship with her long term girlfriend and just like me needed a distraction.” Harvey clarified. Raya’s last relationship lasted for four years, coming to an end because her partner was ready for more while Raya was still hiding their relationship. The pressure had been too much and they’d broken up. It was a messy affair. One that Harvey was dragged in the middle of since he was one of the few people to know of Raya’s true sexual orientation. Her family had been under the impression that her girlfriend was just her roommate and best friend.

“I am so sorry for her.” Mia hated the surge of liberation that washed over her. She had to bite back the tears of relief at the confirmation of Harvey being available. It was greedy of her to want him unattached when she herself wasn’t…well, not in name anyway. Seeing Harvey with someone else had taken a toll on her and now that the misunderstanding was elucidated Mia felt tired, her eyelids growing heavy.

“Did you really think I’d be parading around with someone else so soon?” His gaze was discerning. It was unfathomable that she’d think that, especially since he was more than ready to take on her challenges with her.

“I honestly didn’t know what I thought, especially since last time you used the word ‘pleasurable’ to describe our relationship.” She lowered her gaze, recalling how low the word had made her feel.

“We were saying good-bye. It was a poor vocabulary choice but I was also trying to come to terms with the situation.” He trapped her eyes with his, sending her signals of his true intent. “I felt rejected, Mia and my temper got the better of me, I am sorry.” He held her closer, a slight shiver rocking her body. The slight movement signalling the awakening of his sleeping member. He’d been taking great pains to have a moment with her without sexual intent but it was proving difficult. His body was starved of her. He’d shoved it down for too long and now that she was standing in front of him the starvation was harder to supress.

“Was the misunderstanding that I’d come here with a date the only reason for your hesitance now?” He’d leaned his head against hers allowing her rosy fragrance to enthral his senses. He breathed her in, forcing himself to remember this moment because it wasn’t guaranteed to last. He desperately needed another douse to carry him forward for a bit again.

“That as well as all the other reasons we had discussed. They all still stand.” Mia breathed against his lips, she was being drawn into the promise they conveyed. She swallowed past the growing tumour in her throat.

“None of those reasons give me incentive to stay away from you.” He pressed his lips against her forehead in a lingering kiss, his eyes closing for a few seconds. His hand circling around the nape of her neck. He could feel her pulse turning erratic under his touch and he smiled.
There was a certain amount of pleasure that came from knowing he still had an effect on her.

“You can tell it’s hard for me too.” She gestured to their current position, her cheeks turning a cute shade of pink. Her eyes hooded by long lashes as she peered up into his eyes demurely.

“I can’t stay away from you, Mia.” He was at his wit’s end. “I am no longer willing to try.” He blurted the words out. The sake of Gabriel was not enough to deter him and it clearly wasn’t enough to deter Mia.

“I can’t have a life with you, Harvey.” She whispered pushing against him until they stood apart once again. Mia gazed around the corridors, it was empty. Not a soul wandered about back here.
That was the major the problem for them; the stagnant nature of their life. They’d always have to be hiding. She couldn’t put him through that; he deserved to have a family of his own. Being with her would only cause him chaos, for himself, his family and his friends.
He didn’t answer her, ignoring her statement. His eyes focused on the slight parting of her lips. Her lower lip trembled and she caught it with her teeth, her sight far-away.

“I don’t want to think about the future.” He said blatantly, moving forward, every step he took caused her to stumble backwards. She didn’t understand why, but the storm in his eyes had caused her to be dumbstruck. A whirlwind of emotions swept her up as her back hit the tiled wall behind her. Harvey’s arm came up on the side of her to rest on the wall.
Mia’s heart thundered, the sound making her self-conscious. Could he hear the symphony of drums pounding away inside her chest cavity? She hoped not.

“Then wh-what do you want?” she stammered, cowering at the mere power of his presence. Heat was pooling low in her stomach. His domineering side rendered her knees weak. Her chest was heaving, her skin begging for his touch, begging for his warm tongue against her neck.

“What I want, my dear,” he reached out and slid his free hand around her neck, drawing her face upwards, closer to his face. Mia gasped, a bolt of electricity rushing down her spine. “ is to fuck you against this wall,” he growled against her lips as he recalled the last time they had sex, it was an emotional time, right now was pure need. “right here right now.” He leaned closer and pressed his lips against hers.
Mia hadn’t the will power to protest. She moved her lips against his, their assessing, tempered movements building in tension and momentum until it was nothing more than a display of two starved bodies anchoring for their fill.
Mia groaned against his lips, her arms hooking around his neck, drawing him closer although not a breath of air was capable of passing between them. Harvey groaned in response, a low guttural sound that urged Mia on. She could feel the warm liquid pooling low as he jabbed his lower body against hers.
She kept pulling on his body as they kissed, a tiny growl of a laugh emanating from his lips as he drew away from her. “Someone’s impatient.” He teased her, rotating his hips against her. The prominent feel of his manhood making her wetter and ready for him.

“You’re one to talk.” She spread her palm over his shoulder and traced it down to his aroused member, cupping him in her hands through his trousers. He laid his head against her forehead, his eyes taking on a seductive glare. “How do I feel in your hands?” He asked, ready to bury himself inside of her.

“Good, but I bet you’d feel better inside of me.” Mia drawled, dropping her hand and inviting him with her eyes.

“It’s like you read my mind.” He unzipped his trousers and maneuverered his member through the opening. They were still capable of being discovered, he couldn’t remove all of their clothes. He had to push his longing to see her naked body arching and contracting down.
He gathered up her dress, hooked one of her legs over his hips as he shifted her panties to the side and eased into her. He was gaining some resistance, her body already forgotten how to mould to his unique key.

They both shuddered as the tip of him pried against her opening, he stroked her few times, their breath’s hitching until he slid all the way in. “Oh, fuck yes.” He growled, burying his face in the crook of her neck as he pulsated into her with a slow, agonising rhythm.
Mia was climbing higher, the smoke around her was thickening, her body was no longer hers to control as he slid in and out of her. Her chest was on fire until she fell and her lungs opened back up to allow oxygen through.
Harvey couldn’t hold on too long and he climaxed within seconds after Mia. Her cry urging him to reach his own peak and he came, emptying himself inside of her, their body’s slumping against the wall as they heaved.

“I love you, Mia.” He said, his hot breath warming her neck. His voice barely audible, “I love you.” He’d cleared his throat and said again.
Mia stilled. Her lips parting to speak but nothing came out. “Don’t say anything.” He advised her, fixing her underwear and pulling her dress down her body. “You don’t have to say anything, yet.” She nodded, not knowing what to say. It was all so unexpected, she was still coming down from her high.
He fixed his trousers and looked at her. Her hair was a tangled mess, her dress filled with wrinkles and he was certain his semen was leaking out of her. He didn’t want to think of how he looked.

“Are you sharing a room with anyone?” he asked.

“No.” she said, still catching herself.

“Take me there.” He demanded, his room was too close to Raya’s and a number of other men he and Gabriel worked with. He couldn’t risk it.
