Sweet Revenge

Athena

One of Sebastian's guards was quick to hand him his gun and he slowly made his way to my parents. Their eyes widened and I could see how afraid they were, it seemed like they were going to break apart in any of the next few seconds.

The shaky movements of my mother's hands and her eyes taking a glance at the door told me something that had gone in her mind and she made my assumption come true when she took off to run to the doorway.

Bang!

The sound of the bullet being fired by Sebastian's gun was all that was heard throughout the entire hall before a blood-curdling scream broke through mom's throat. She fell to the ground, crying in pain and my eyes noticed the blood that gushed out of the wound on the back of her leg where the bullet penetrated in.

"It's gullible of you to think that any of you can get out of here alive," He chuckled, it was sinister, "Now decide which one of you wants to die first. I don't have the intention to waste much time on any of you, so make it fast."

Both of them looked dead scared, even while groaning and crying in pain I could see how terrified my mother was. My father, on the other hand, looked frozen on the spot as if he was so frightened that he couldn't even get himself to speak or do anything.

The fear in both of their eyes resembled the one that they might have seen in mine the day they sold me away like some cheap good to those auctioneers.

That was a death for me, being sold was more than just death— It was as if someone snatched all my rights to live or even breathe, or I could say my parents sold them because of money.

"I suggest you should discuss it with your wife, the faster you both come up with a decision the easier it'd be for both of you— Death is easy if it's not slow." Sebastian loaded the gun, a strange satisfaction was there in his orbs as if he was thoroughly enjoying every second.

But what astonished me the most was that I did not even feel the slightest bit of sympathy towards any of them. Was I supposed to feel bad for these people for getting what they deserved after selling their own daughter?

Maybe not, and that's why I did not feel any need to stop Sebastian. I did not feel like I should stop him, I wanted him to do what he decided to.

Monsters like them did not deserve to stay alive. They'd ruin more lives, just like they ruined mine. If they could do this to their daughter, god knew how low they could stoop when it'd come to other people.

"Alpha, we beg you. Please let us go," My father joined his hands, trembling in fear.

"What was your name, again?" Sebastian asked, not paying any attention to his question, his attention was on his gun and this seemed to terrify both of them even more.

Nonetheless, the answer came from one of them.

"Marcus Anderson."

"And what's your name?" He looked at my grovelling mother, she'd already lost a ton of blood that supposedly led her one step closer to the end. Death.

"Bailey...." She spoke, even though I could see it was so hard for her to even breathe.

"So, Marcus and Bailey," Sebastian began, "Let me give you a quick tour around the mass of your mistakes. First: You both dared to step into my territory without my permission, A very big mistake. Second one: Not only did you commit the first crime but you dared to touch my belonging, my mate. Third and most interesting one: You made up a false story regarding my mate, only so that you can take advantage of the wealth that you might get from me using her. And the fourth, the worst mistake of your life: Selling your own daughter in the first place."

His jaw clenched, eyes darkened and his grip tightened around the gun. He was enraged, the rage radiating from him much more intense than what I'd ever seen.

"We apologize for coming here. We were only here to look for a job because we got removed from our pack," My mother sobbed, "Please let us go. We will never ever come here again."

"You came to search for a job but when you saw your daughter is my mate, your whole motive changed," he hummed, "You thought you'd blackmail her with the cheap ways that you might have used numerous times and make her a money-making machine for you, huh? You tried to take the advantage of her again because of your own fucking profits....what a disgrace you both are as parents!"

"We are sorry. We made a mistake, we'd never try to do it again. Please spare our lives, we don't want to die." My dad begged.

"By the way, Why look for a job? What happened to those five thousand dollars that seemed of more worth than Athena to you?" Sebastian asked in mockery, the pure urge of vengeance screaming through his words, "You spend it all away? Whatever, on the brighter side you both wouldn't have to look for a job anymore because you two simply won't remain alive after these next few minutes."

Bang!

This time it was my father whom I saw falling to the floor, the bullet was shot at his right thigh ad blood oozed from the injury.

Groaning in ache, he pressed his hand against the wound to stop the bleeding, "Alpha, please don't kill us. Please, we beg you." My mother tried to stand up but her action had to stop midway because Sebastian pointed his gun at her other leg and shot her right above her knee.

She dropped on the floor with a thud! Another scream left her mouth and her own blood spattered on her face.

I clutched onto the sides of my dress, the sight was horrifying and beyond brutal. It was tough for me to stand there and witness everything.

"Have you been asked to stand up?" Sebastian cocked an eyebrow as he stared down at her, "You don't seem like you wish to stay alive, I should deal with you first."

Horror covered her expression and her breathing hitched.

He walked closer to them and both of the culprits went pale as if all the blood in their bodies have went cold. Sebastian casually crouched down in front of them and stared at both of their faces as if he was examining something that'd led him to a conclusion that none of us knew.

"Why your dear pack removed both of you? Perhaps you both have committed some treachery for money, or it could be..."He did not speak, instead, a smirk spread on his lips as he noticed the change in the countenance that supposedly gave him the answer he was looking for, "You two betrayed your pack for the money. It's very much expected from people like you."

Shaking his head in disappointment that looked artificial and a way to mask his rising rage, he stood up and loaded his gun once again.

"Alpha...let us leave, we beg you," My father requested with his shaky voice, "Show some mercy."

"None of you deserve it," He growled, "Be grateful that I am taking your lives soon as possible because if I want, I could put you through so much that you both would have begged for death, not mercy."

Bang!

The bullet hit dad in his arm and a loud scream ripped through his throat.

The white tiled floor was basically covered in both of their blood only. They were begging for mercy, crying in pain and misery, helplessly praying again and again for their lives but alas! They weren't going to make it alive.

"Athena, we know we have done wrong with you," My mother spoke, looking at me with eyes glossy with tears, "But please, let us go alive. We'd never come back in your life, just ask your mate to let us go. Please."

For a moment I closed my eyes and looked away. Not for pity but to avoid meeting her eyes.

Was I selfish for not wanting to help these people who not even for once in their life treated me right?

They were the ones who kept me locked in a room for most of my life, they were the same people who thought taking me to a doctor when I used to fall sick was a waste of money, they were the ones who forced me to work in different houses as a maid so that they could live better with that money, for them I was some stuff that they raised till they found the opportunity to sell me in a proper price.

They never cared for me. They never loved me. They considered me a burden the whole time only because I was wolf-less.

"Athena, please help us," My father's voice banged against my eardrums, when I looked at him his eyes held the same hopefulness as he joined his hands in front of me that I saw in his wife's seconds ago.

That day when they sold me...I begged this same way.

I begged like this. I held their hands, joined mine, over and over again thinking that maybe for once they'd show me some mercy but no, they did not show any. They just sold me not caring what those guys would do to me.

They deserved to die. They deserved every bit of the pain Sebastian was putting them through.

I looked away from both of them, I did not want to meet their eyes and feel any sort of sympathy rising with me for them.

"Trust me, she won't help you," Sebastian chuckled lowly and took a few bullets from one of his guards before he reloaded his gun, "If she wanted she would have done it long ago."

"Athena...please listen to us," My mother began panicking, "You can't do this to us, please help us."

"You both sold her for five thousand dollars, but you know how much I spent on purchasing her from that auction?" He asked, looking at my parents with his cold impassive expression, "Two Million Dollars and if I needed to, I would have given away everything I have, every fucking property and the millions and billions of dollars I own because she is fucking worth it!"

Despite being amidst this chaos, I felt my heart skip a bit because of his words.

"If needed, I'd give away everything I have to keep her with me," He spoke, "Her worth is beyond any wealth. She is mine and anyone except for me, harming her or causing her pain, shall die."

My father opened his mouth to say something but his words died at the tip of his tongue as Sebastian pulled the trigger. The bullet hit the middle of his forehead and his entire body stilled for a second before it dropped to the floor, completely lifeless.

I covered my mouth to stop the gasp that fought to leave my mouth.

The sound of the gun being fired buzzed throughout the room once again, and all I saw was my mother's body sliding across the room and hitting the wall. Her blood went everywhere, and it was once last agonizing scream that left her mouth before I saw her falling lifeless as well.

Sebastian had shot her right in her chest.

They were...dead.

The people who traumatize me for my entire life, who was responsible for everything I went through, were dead. They were finally gone.

I fell, mum. I could not figure out whether it was happiness, grief or satisfaction or numbness. I just stood there looking at their dead bodies as my mind began unlocking the doors of my memories that were trying to surface for the entire time.

My breathing trembled, my hands shook vigorously, and I could barely hold myself together.

I felt so overwhelmed to understanding how I was supposed to react.

Sebastian slowly walked towards their bodies, putting the gun into his pocket as he squatted down and covered his right hand in my father's blood and left one in my mother's.

He turned around and walked back towards me, my eyes for the whole time only looked at his blood-covered hands. I instinctively backed away till my back hit the nearest pillar.

I was trapped.

He closed the distance between us, standing in front of me and looking right through my soul with his intense gaze.

I couldn't breathe, couldn't speak or find the strength to keep with his gaze yet somehow I still stood there, unmoved.

And then he finally spoke, crushing the silence into mere pieces and shattering me as well.

"There you go, Athena. Today, this sinner has committed another sin...but this time for you," He raised his hands and spread their blood over both sides of my face, "Your revenge is taken."

As he withdrew his hands, my hand moved to touch the blood over my cheeks and panic coursed through me.

They were dead....because of me. This time, it was two lives that were actually taken because of me!

"You should not feel any remorse," He said as if he'd already read what was going in my mind, "They deserved it. Some revenge is like burdens, if you don't seek them, they are stuck with you forever and you can never find a way out of that pitfall." He began slowly pulling away.

I couldn't get myself to utter anything. I inhaled a sharp breath that was only a mere attempt to stop my tears but I ended up failing and they found their way out anyways.

Unable to understand what to do, I burst into tears covering my mouth to stop the sobs and then with one last glance at Sebastian, I ran up the stairs as fast as I could.

I needed to wash their blood off of me; Get rid of every memory of them.
