CHAPTER 15
There are many plants and the garden that Dakota is in is wide when she wakes up. The sunlight was also high, but since there were many trees providing shade where she was, it did not hurt her skin. She had no idea where she was. Dakota stood up slowly and noticed that she was wearing a red robe. Her eyes looked around to see if she had someone in that place, but she was disappointed. Dakota seemed to be the only person there. She slowly walked to find companions until her feet landed on a difficult, very high one. It was covered with vines. She looked to the right and left, and that vast wall seemed endless.
“Where am I?” she asked herself, and then stepped closer to the wall. When her hand touched it, she was just so surprised when it visited and opened. Many walls will open to her as if she is in a labyrinth. She gradually felt fear for herself because she did not know where she was and what she was doing there.
Dakota stepped inside, help, but from the very beginning she was confused about where to go. There is a path on the right and there is also a path on the left. She seems to cry because she feels that if she chooses wrongly, her life will be in danger. She couldn’t move her legs even if she wanted to walk to gamble.
After a while, she saw a familiar body on the right side of the hallway. Dakota couldn’t see and she couldn’t remember who that familiar body mass was because she couldn’t see the face. She just knew that it was familiar to her. “Who are you? Can you accompany me, or at least show me the way to cross here?”
The person she was talking to in the distance didn’t even move. She repeatedly screamed and asked for help, but it didn’t even answer her. Dakota tried to step closer to it, but the floor moved. It’s like she’s riding a treadmill that, no matter how fast she goes, she doesn’t leave her seat until she falls. She was very tired and sweaty. Her knees stopped hurting, and she noticed that her clothes were stained red with blood.
She tried to see who that person was, but she was dizzy. Until she felt herself slowly shaking.
“Dakota? Dakota! You’re having a bad dream!” Willow said as Dakota’s eyes widened.
She was panting and sweating profusely. Her pajamas were also wet. Dakota immediately turned around. She wanted to cry because she felt so scared. Fortunately, it was just a dream. If not, it’s probably how she’s gone. Dakota hugged Willow and tears started to fall. She didn’t know why she had such a dream. The place is weird. That person she asked for help. She didn’t see the face, but she knew, and Dakota was sure she knew him.
Shane came to them from outside the room with water in her hand. Wendy had obviously just woken up and had no idea what was going on. It took a long time for Dakota to calm down. Even Shane and Willow have traces of fear on their faces.
“Are you okay?” Shane asked her. It is holding the glass with the drink again.
Dakota nodded. “Yes. Thank you.”
“What did you dream about? Is it scary?”
Dakota shook her head. “The place is not scary. It’s nice and cozy. Lots of plants and trees. It’s relaxing.”
“Well then, why did you look so scared earlier?”
“I don’t know what happened. Suddenly I ended up in a labyrinth and I didn’t know which way to go.”
“Labyrinth? What is that?”
“A maze.” They both turned to Willow when they said that. She immediately took action and took out the cell phone she was holding earlier that she had borrowed from Shane. “I had a dream like that too, Dakota, so I immediately searched.” She showed something. It dawned on Dakota that she did research like that before she did that.
They both looked at each other. “Do you think that has any connection with our true selves?”
Willow shook her head, then sat down. “I do not know. In my dream, no matter where I go, closed or not, the road is straight. I can’t see the end. Until I see a woman. I don’t know her. She told me not to interfere, but I didn’t know what she meant to me.”
Dakota didn’t move. It is certain that their dreams are connected because they are in the same maze or labyrinth as Willow. But the only difference is that she saw a woman while she saw a man. Dakota let out a deep sigh. She really wants to know who she really is. What happened to her, and she doesn’t remember anything?
“Dakota has been deep in thought for a while now. It’s obvious because she’s always been stunned,” Kurt said as he cut the ingredients. Ivo heard that, so he frowned. He simply listened to it, anyway.
“Maybe that’s just sleepy. You are thinking too much about something there.” Ashton was the one who spoke while looking at the paper where the things they were going to cook were listed.
“No. She’s always on alert when I have something to say, but earlier, I’ve called several times, but she doesn’t hear me. I was even surprised when I raised my voice a bit.” He looked at Shane, who had just entered the cooking area. “Shane, is there something wrong with Dakota?”
Shane didn’t answer immediately and also looked at Dakota’s behavior. From the cooking area, they can see what she is doing now in the dining area itself. She took a deep breath before facing Kurt. “Because she had a bad dream this morning. Crying after waking up. Really afraid. Anyone who is like that will be really scared and will really think about it during the day.”
That’s when Ivo couldn’t stop butting into the conversation. “What did she dream about?” His colleagues there were obviously surprised by his participation in the conversation.
Shane looked at her companions before looking at Ivo. “It is said that the place is beautiful, but what happened there is scary. She didn’t say anything about it. I didn’t ask anymore because she might think more and it’s not okay with her.”
Ivo didn’t speak anymore. Here again, he feels that he is worried about Dakota. It shouldn’t be, but he can’t help it. He just met her, but the concern he feels for her seems too much. Ivo immediately looked at the behavior of Dakota, who was now talking to Shane. The two looked at where they were and he pretended to be busy arranging the ingredients to be used. A few moments later, he heard the voices of Shane and Dakota, who had already entered the cooking area.
“Just look at the cooking area first.”
Dakota just nodded, but didn’t say anything. She immediately grabbed the bag of cucumbers that needed to be washed in the sink. Ivo was just looking at her and luckily she didn’t notice him because her back was turned to him. He wanted to approach her to ask what the problem was, but he didn’t want what their colleagues would think.
“Dakota, after you wash, peel and cut it, okay?” Ashton said.
“Okay,” Dakota answered briefly before continuing to wash.
“Guys, we have a delivery that has arrived,” said Wendy, who had just entered the cooking area.
The men looked at each other. When a delivery arrives, the men take care of it, including Wendy. That was Ivo’s chance to get close to Dakota. He cleared his throat to get her attention, which is why the girl turned to him.
“Chef, do you need anything?” Dakota asked him.
He didn’t answer. He just looked at Dakota. He thought her face was pale but still beautiful. Her face is smooth, as if it’s nice to touch. Ivo took a deep breath to stop himself from doing that. He couldn’t do that because he couldn’t explain anything to her by chance.
He shook his head. “Nothing. Go after the carrots when you’re done with that.” That’s all he said. Then he turned around and went back to what he was doing earlier.
