CHAPTER 33

Ivo’s POV

I haven’t been sleepy for a while now even though I’ve been tossing and turning in bed. I turned off the light so I wouldn’t be blinded, but it’s still the same. Something makes me want to leave the room, but I don’t have anything to do outside. I sat down and held my neck because I was really uncomfortable in my place.

The bed was empty when I removed the blanket. I was still holding my waist and looked around the room and wondered if there was anything I could do. I didn’t see anything, so I decided to just leave the room. It was three in the morning when I looked at the wall clock before I opened the door. It was dark in that hallway, which is why I wondered what the thing was that was on the opposite side of the bedroom door where Dakota was sleeping.

My eyes widened when I saw someone lying there, so I immediately came closer and saw that Dakota was there. It was unconscious and holding its own hair. I immediately got worried about this, so I immediately woke her up, but she was still unconscious. I knocked loudly on their door to call for help.

“What’s the problem, Chef? Why—” Shane’s eyes immediately widened when she saw that Dakota was unconscious and I lifted her up.

“Liam will wake up to get the car ready. Please hurry!” Even though I was having trouble walking because the hallway was quite dark, I walked carefully so that Dakota and I wouldn’t fall, especially on the stairs.

I kept glancing at Dakota as we left the house. I am very worried about her. She must have hit her head again, so she lost consciousness. I feel a strange fear and worry for her now. I can’t answer why and for what. I’ll think about it later because that’s not important right now.

I also noticed Liam and Ashton running towards me. Liam opened the car door and helped me get into the car with Dakota, while Ashton was in the driver’s seat. They also look like they just woke up because their hair is still messy. A few moments later, we were crossing the road to the nearest hospital.

“What happened?” Liam asked, sitting on the shotgun. I was in the passenger seat and Dakota had her head on my thigh and was being supported.

“When I came out of my room, I just saw Dakota outside the door of their room. She was unconscious. I’m sure his head will hurt again until she loses consciousness,” I said while looking at Dakota’s gentle face.

I felt something in my heart for her. Her headache seems to be intensifying. Maybe she tried to remember, even though she knew it would hurt her head. I let out a violent breath and looked out the window. I was upset, but not for her. I’m upset because of her situation. If only I could do something to make her not feel the pain of wondering who she really is.

I looked at Dakota’s face again. She looks like an angel. The shape of the eyes, nose and the lips are perfect... it seems like it’s good to kiss.

I swallowed hard and quickly put that thing out of my mind. I was wrong to think that way. Really wrong. Dakota is in a bad state, but that’s what I think? Really wrong. I scolded myself because of what I was thinking.

A few moments later, I felt Dakota move. I immediately grabbed her because she might fall from her place. The car was still moving, and even Ashton and Liam were staring at Dakota. Her eyes widened and automatically went to me.

“C-Chef Ivo,” she called me softly.

“Dakota, are you okay? How are you feeling?” I asked her. I was supporting her to stand when she moved.

“W-what happened? Where will we go? Why are we in the car?” She looked outside the car even though she couldn’t see much because it was still dark.

“I saw you unconscious outside the door of your room. What happened? Did you have a headache?” I asked her. I want to know what really happened because I’m really worried.

She didn’t answer right away. After a while, she grabbed her head and seemed to be thinking, so I stopped her.

“Don’t force yourself to think because you might get a headache again. We will take you to the hospital today so that the doctor can examine you and give you medicine that you can take.”

“Don’t worry, Chef. I’m fine.”

“No. Don’t be stubborn, because I won’t listen to you. I’m going to take you to the hospital because that’s what we have to do so that when you get a headache, you have medicine right away. Didn’t you bring your pain killer?”

Dakota shook her head. “I didn’t bring it because I forgot.”

I felt annoyed. “Why do you forget that? You know that’s important to you and then you just forget about it?” I couldn’t help but slightly raise my voice at her. I frowned, and I was really not happy with what she did.

“Chef, calm down. I’m sure Dakota didn’t intend to forget her medicine—”

“Shut up there, Liam. You as well. You don’t even remind Dakota about something like this. I thought you were friends, huh?” I couldn’t hold back. I looked in the rare view mirror and noticed that Ashton was shaking.

I took a deep breath when I felt that I must have gone too far, but I couldn’t control myself either. I was carried away with so much concern for Dakota. She looked out the window. When I noticed that she rubbed something on her cheek, guilt suddenly crept in and I secretly scolded myself. It was not my intention to get angry and raise my voice at Dakota. I’m just really worried for her, because she’s having a hard time and then she forgets the medicine for his head.
