Chapter 91 Outrageous Listening
"Isabella." Seb's voice came from beside her. "In life, one will face many choices. I just hope you won't regret the decisions you make ."
Tears welled up in Isabella's eyes as she touched the glass, looking at the vibrant little lives inside the incubators as if seeing the child in her own belly.
To be honest, she had been looking forward to it and had considered giving birth.
But there were too many uncertainties. The more she thought about it, the more afraid she became, gradually losing her confidence.
"Isabella." Seb took a step closer to her, wanting to hug her. But he held back, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
Isabella took a few deep breaths and turned her head. "Thank you, Mr. Landon."
Seb's actions were like a rope, pulling her back from the edge of the cliff.
Subconsciously, she didn't want to abort this child. From the moment when the doctor scheduled the surgery, she felt entangled and self-blamed.
Her sense of responsibility was too heavy. If she really aborted this child, she would truly regret it.
Seeing Isabella come to her decision, Seb's tense emotions eased slightly "I apologize for my actions and words last night. If you made this decision because of that, I feel guilty."
Isabella shook her head. "Don't say that. If it weren't for you, I might have already entered the operating room. When I came out of the operating room, I might really regret it."
Seb looked at her, his eyes filled with complexity.
He was clearly bothered by the fact that Isabella was carrying Matthew's child and would have preferred she terminate the pregnancy. Doing so would also sever the bond between her and Matthew, ensuring Isabella could never return to Matthew's side. Yet, when he learned that Isabella was undergoing the procedure at the hospital, he rushed over regardless to stop it. He couldn't explain the reason.
He might simply feel that Isabella really wanted this child, so he didn't want her to regret it. There might also be some unclear reasons involved.
Just the thought of Isabella aborting the child made Seb feel unbearable, and there was even a faint sense of heartache for him.
After leaving the hospital, Seb and Jack left.
This time, Seb didn't say anything about giving Isabella a ride.
"Mr. Landon, do we really not need to give Isabella a ride?" Jack glanced at the rearview mirror and asked.
Seb looked out the car window. "No need."
Jack asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Seb coughed. "Just a cold, it's nothing."
"Are we going back to the company?"
Seb fell silent for a moment and said, "Back home."
"Okay." Jack drove the car back to Azure Wave Garden. As soon as Seb entered the house, he smelled the aroma of food. Unlike usual, the smell was more like home-cooked food.
"Mr. Landon." Vanessa walked over. "I was about to call you, lunch is almost ready."
Seb glanced towards the dining room. "Did you change the nutritionist?"
"Yes." A hint of grievance appeared on Vanessa's face. "I hired a nutritionist for Grandma, but she didn't like it and insisted on hiring one without a certificate."
"Where did you find someone without a certificate?" Seb usually paid the most attention to Zoe's diet and lifestyle and spared no expense in hiring nutritionists based solely on their qualifications. That was why Vanessa went all out to hire those foreign chefs, only for Nina to end up benefiting from it.
While Vanessa and Seb were talking, Nina, wearing an apron, came out and exchanged a glance with Seb.
Nina felt a little embarrassed. "Mr. Landon."
"Is it you?" Seb was somewhat surprised. He never expected that Zoe's new nutritionist would be Nina.
"The meal is ready. I'll go call Zoe downstairs for dinner." Nina nodded to the two and went upstairs.
Seeing Seb frown in silence, Vanessa said, "I couldn't persuade Grandma. Mr. Landon, maybe you can try. Grandma will definitely listen to you."
"Persuade?" Seb looked indifferent. "Since Grandma rarely likes to eat home-cooked food, just let her stay." Vanessa was speechless about his response.
"I'm a bit tired. I won't eat." Seb left this sentence and went upstairs to rest.
Watching him leave, Vanessa murmured, "Mr. Landon, I know you're keeping Nina because of Isabella."
The next day, Seb didn't come to the company all day.
Isabella asked Jack and found out that Seb was sick.
Thinking back to yesterday at the hospital, Isabella felt that he didn't look quite right, and he was coughing. So he probably caught a cold because of getting rained on the night before.
Ten minutes before the end of the workday, Jack suddenly shouted in the group chat, "Everyone, now come with me to Mr. Landon's house."
Everyone in the group was responding, except Isabella, who hadn't replied.
After a while, Jack went directly to her. "Isabella, did you see the group message?"
Isabella pretended not to know. "Sorry, I didn't see it."
Jack said, "Now grab the documents and come with me to Mr. Landon's house."
"What's going on?" Isabella stood up. "Why do we need to go there?"
"To report on work," Jack said. "It's Mr. Landon's order. We just have to follow."
"Okay." Isabella found it odd; Seb was indeed a workaholic, but it seemed like he had never had employees go to his house before.
However, having been there for only a short time, perhaps it had happened before and she just wasn't aware of it.
Isabella followed everyone to the Landon family as night fell. The lights of Azure Wave Garden were on, creating a dreamlike illusion.
"Mr. Landon's house is so beautiful!"
"Like a castle!"
"If I could live in a house like this in my lifetime, I could die a happy person."
Laura stood by, laughing. "A friendly reminder, if you see something shocking later, don't scream."
"What kind of shocking scene?"
"Could it be that Mr. Landon has a beautiful wife?"
"Who's so lucky to marry Mr. Landon."
"I'm jealous."
Laura had a jealous look in her eyes and said sarcastically, "You'll see when the time comes. I'm just giving you a heads up, hoping you won't get too excited."
After some discussion, they passed through the courtyard and arrived at the entrance.
Jack rang the doorbell, and a voice faintly came from inside. "Coming."
"This voice sounds somewhat familiar."
"I think so too."
"Could it be someone we know?"
Everyone looked at Laura.
But she still had a mysterious expression and didn't bother to explain it to everyone.
Kelsey, who had been silent, couldn't hold back anymore. "It's Vanessa!"
"Vanessa!"
"Vanessa with Mr. Landon, really?"
"This sounds outrageous."
Kelsey laughed. "I also think it's quite outrageous."
Laura glared at her discontentedly. "It's normal for you to find it outrageous. After all, Mr. Landon didn't choose you."
Kelsey sneered, "Whether he chooses me or not doesn't matter. Even if I don't marry Brother Seb, I can find a good man to marry in the future. Unlike some people who are always stuck like a puddle of mud against the wall. Just because you wear fake goods, you think you can mix into high society?"
"You!"
At this moment, the door opened, revealing a familiar face to everyone.
Indeed, it was Vanessa.
