Chapter 98 Want to Abort the Child

Charlie's lies couldn't fool Isabella.

In this city, Isabella and Nina depended on each other and hardly had any friends.

Isabella felt something was wrong and decided to visit Nina. However, after pressing the doorbell for a long time, no one came to open the door.

The house password had been changed, but Nina had informed her in advance, fearing she might not be able to enter if she came over urgently.

Isabella hesitated for a moment but finally entered the password and went inside.

A strong medicinal smell filled the room as Isabella walked in barefoot. She immediately noticed the scattered glass shards in the living room.

Her heart tightened as she quickly walked to the master bedroom door.

The scene inside shook Isabella to the core.

The bedroom was in chaos, the bed messy, a toppled suitcase nearby, and clothes strewn all over.

There were cigarette ashes and butts scattered on the bed and floor.

This was clearly a scene of domestic violence. Nina had been beaten again!

Watching the scene, Isabella's heart ached.

She took out her phone, taking a few photos and a video.

Then she left Nina's house and headed straight to the hospital.

At the hospital, Nina slowly woke up and when she saw Charlie, she closed her eyes again.

Her body ached, but her heart ached even more.

Charlie held her hand. "Nina, you're awake. I've been watching over you for a long time. I was really worried about you."

Nina kept her eyes closed, refusing to acknowledge him.

"I'm sorry, Nina. I'm a jerk. I shouldn't have laid a hand on you." As Charlie spoke, he slapped himself repeatedly.

He slapped his face heavily without mercy and he kept apologizing non-stop.

It was at this moment that Isabella pushed the door open and entered.

Seeing the scene, she wrinkled her nose in disgust and pushed Charlie away. "Stay away from my sister!"

Nina opened her eyes. "Bella."

"Sis." Isabella looked at the injuries on Nina's face, her heart aching. "I've always said that domestic violence is either zero times or countless times!"

Nina forced a bitter smile, her voice weak. "I should have listened to you. I was too soft-hearted."

She rarely cried in front of Isabella, but now her eyes were red, clearly unable to bear it any longer.

At that moment, the doctor walked in.

"Nina, are you feeling better?" the doctor asked at the foot of the bed.

Nina nodded. "A little better."

The doctor glanced at Charlie, his expression somewhat conflicted. "There's something I need to tell you."

"Please go ahead," Charlie said.

The doctor paused, then said to Nina, "You're pregnant, did you know?"

"What?" Nina was thunderstruck, completely dumbfounded.

Isabella was also stunned. She asked the doctor, "What did you say?"

Charlie beside her, also jolted. He instantly became vigorous, his eyes gleaming. "You mean my wife is pregnant? Is she really pregnant?"

The doctor looked at Charlie, his expression serious. "How could you lay a hand on a woman?"

Charlie was ecstatic. "I'm a jerk. But I didn't know she was pregnant. If I had known, I would have taken care of her. I should never have hit her."

The doctor frowned. "Whether she's pregnant or not, as a man, you should never lay a hand on a woman."

"Yes, I'm a jerk. I'll never lay a hand on her again." Charlie promised earnestly.

He took a few steps towards the hospital bed, trying to get closer to Nina.

Isabella stared at him warily, not allowing him to approach.

Charlie awkwardly stopped, smiling. "Bella, I really know I was wrong."

Isabella looked at him coldly. "You said the same thing last time!"

Isabella had long known that Charlie was unreliable. But Nina wouldn't listen to her.

And now, Nina was pregnant with Charlie's child. She was confused about Nina’s future.

"This time it was out of reason. I lost my temper and that was why I hit you" Charlie looked at Nina. "Nina, I was overly suspicious. For the sake of the child, please forgive me this once."

"Sis!" Isabella, fearing Nina's soft-heartedness, quickly grabbed her hand.

Nina closed her eyes. "I'm tired and bemused now. Charlie, you go back first. I need to think."

"Okay, I'll go back and make soup for you. Bella, thank you for staying with Nina," Charlie said before happily leaving.

Due to Nina's pregnancy, many medications couldn't be used, and even saline couldn't be administered.

Feeling stifled in the hospital, Isabella suggested Nina go out for a walk.

Nina pointed to her face. "Look at me now. I'll scare people if I go out."

Her eyes were filled with exhaustion, not physical exhaustion, but the exhaustion of the soul.

"Sis, you're not in a good state right now. You need to go out for a walk," Isabella said, taking out two things from her bag: a face mask and a baseball cap. "This way, others won't see the injuries on your face."

Unable to resist Isabella, Nina reluctantly followed her outside.

There was a large shopping mall near the hospital, so they walked there.

Shopping could lift one's spirits, and buying things even more so.

Isabella picked out two dresses from the rack and gestured to Nina. "Sis, try these on. They should look good on you."

Nina said she didn't need to, but Isabella still pushed her into the fitting room.

However, not long after, Nina came out.

"Why didn't you try them on?" asked Isabella.

Nina was still wearing her own clothes. She hung the two dresses back on the rack, took Isabella's arm, and walked out. "They're not suitable for me."

In fact, it wasn't that they weren't suitable. It was just that she glanced at the price tag and couldn't bear to spend the money.

Understanding her thoughts, Isabella said, "How about I treat you to bubble tea?"

Nina touched her belly, uncertain. "Can I drink bubble tea while pregnant?"

"You can just drink less," Isabella said, then went to line up.

Nina sat on a bench nearby, waiting for her.

But when Isabella turned around with two cups of bubble tea, she found the bench empty.

Isabella looked around and finally saw Nina's figure in a maternity store.

She was standing in front of an exquisite cradle, beautifully decorated by the store with a pink canopy, colorful rotating mobiles hanging above, a light pink blanket inside the cradle, a small pillow, and a soft plush toy.

Isabella walked over. "Sis."

"Bella, isn't this cradle beautiful?" asked Nina.

"Yes." Isabella nodded. "If you give me a niece. As an aunt, I'll buy her this."

Nina lowered her gaze, her fingers always touching her abdomen. She said with a bitter smile, "I can't even provide a complete home for him. What right do I have to be a mother?"

Isabella's eyes sparkled. "What do you mean?"

Nina took a deep breath, raising her eyes. "I want to abort this child."
