Chapter 31

**JONATHAN**

Blake's team found them today as they explored this side of the forest. After my order, they just watched them until we arrived.
He ran as fast as he could to get there. Finally, a point to start.
"Give me a report." I told him right away when I got there.
"They come in and out of this building. I do not know how many are inside. They have permanent guards at the front door."
"They are definitely hiding here."
"Yes, otherwise they would not guard it."
I turned to look at my men, who have been by my side for so many days without making the slightest complaint. Looking for their Luna.
"My mate and your Luna are in there. She is your priority. She must leave safely as soon as possible. You know what to do. I do not want anyone to stay alive. I want their leader for me." I told them, and they all shifted into their wolf and took their place. I looked at Blake and with one last nod we shifted too.
I was in the front line having all my senses fully awake. Through the mind link I signaled them to move on. But when I stepped on the edge of the forest immediately the alarm started ringing.
*-Ηe was ready.*
*-let's go.*
Rogues started to gather in front of us, their number was large, but it left me indifferent. My men are the best warriors in the country. They will finish them before they can even make a move against us.
A few minutes later a young man came out of the door pulling Ella behind him. Her eyes lit up when she saw me, but it seemed that they did not have the happy glow that I love so much in her. Her body was noticeably thinner. And even from so close I could not feel Aria.
*What did they do to her?*
*Do not worry, they will pay.*
But when the smell of her blood hit my nose, my growl was so loud that it covered any other sound. I saw her trying to escape but he caught her with more force. From the expression on her face, I could tell that he is hurting her.
"Are you ready to hand me your pack?"
*-Ιs he crazy?* Blake asked me in the mind-link.
*-He is dead.*
I shifted back ignoring the lack of my clothes and crossed my arms in front of my chest.
“Leave her alone.”
"I don’t think so. I wanted her because she was the key for my success but now, she wolf less."
"What did you do to her." I growled. How the hell did her wolf die? How did I not feel it?
Zeus was howling in my head, the pain made him crazy for revenge. He wants to kill him for taking his mate away from him.
"I did nothing. Your Gamma, Olivia brought her here like this."
I kept watching him and my hands began to tremble, my men around me growling ready to attack with my signal. But first I must make sure Ella is safe.
"I have no use for her now but let her help me one last time."
With that I noticed how his hand went on her back, her eyes were on me, almost crying.
But nothing, and I mean nothing prepared me for his plan. I heard bones breaking and her mouth filled with blood. And Then I saw as his hand, raised holding her heart and He let her body fell on the ground.
I froze. Everything around me stopped. No sound could be heard, no smell could be smelled. My mate, my love, my Luna is dead.
*Killed them all.* Zeus screamed to the warriors, and they did what the Alpha wolf ordered them. One by one were falling down but my eyes were fixed on the man beside my mate.
I let Zeus to took over me and watched him from the back of his head as he run to him. Nothing else matter, only him.
He tried to shift but Zeus was too fast for him. He grabbed him from his shoulder before he finished his shifting. He cut off his entire right arm and I watched with satisfaction as he fell on the ground bleeding to death. But it was not enough for me. I took over again and I kneel next to him.
"Did you think that killing my mate would weaken me? You just signed your death!!"
A faint laugh escaped his lips.
"I won."
I hardly heard his words, but they fed me more. And I did what he did to her, I tore his heart out. I looked around and saw my men finishing the last of them.
I turned to find her, to hold her.
"What the hell?" I growled
"Where is she?" Blake asked from beside me.
"I don’t know." I blinked few times remembering the last couple of minutes. No one came near us. So, where the hell is her body?
"Search everywhere!" I ordered my men.
"Maybe she..." I interrupted Blake.
"Maybe what? She cannot disappear in the air! "
I let my emotions take over. She is dead, she is no longer here. For the first time in my life, I felt tears coming out of my eyes.
Blake hugged my shoulders, and I did not care who would see me. I lost her, my wolf is whining, and my heart is broken.
"Jonathan come on, you need to get back. You need to rest."
"No!"
"You have a son, don’t forget it."
Yes, I have I son, who is waiting for his mother to return. How I am going to tell him that she will come back ever again. That I failed as a mate and as a leader to protect her.
“Come on,” Blake helped me stand up. I look at him and I can see his pain. As a Beta his failed too.
I shift and I started running. By the time I got back to the house most of the pack members had gathered outside. Their heads were down, and some had tears in their eyes. I saw Mia in front of the door crying with tears, the news travels extremely fast. I approached her and stood in front of her.
"My son?"
"He is with Blake's mom. I didn't tell him."
I nodded and went inside. They may have wanted to talk to me but now I did not have the courage to talk.
I found the little angel painting happily and next to him was Mrs. Cassandra.
"Dad." He said and ran to me. I hugged him and stroked his hair.
"Mum?" His question was like a knife in the heart.
"Mom is an Angel now. He will take care of you and will always be by your side. "
I am sure because of his age he could not fully understand what I was telling him.
"I want mom." He said again.
"I'm sorry baby."
"No." He shouted and tried to get out of my arms. He ran down the corridor and Mrs. Cassandra went at the door.
"I will follow him." She told me and nodded my head to her and went straight to my office.
"What are you doing here?" Cole asked me when he came in.
"What is it look like? I work."
"Jonathan, go rest, take a bath. I will take care of everything."
"No, I do not want to rest."
"Jonathan." He started insisting.
"Go away. Just let me work in peace. Go do something else."
He looked at me for a long time until he left without saying anything more.
I do not need to rest; I just must occupy my mind so that I do not think. Zeus does not help as he whines all the time in my head. But neither does my aching heart.
I made a sharp move and threw everything under the desk. I do not even have her body so I can bury her as she deserves. We did not even manage to do the Luna ceremony, no one will replace her.
The door opened and Blake came in
"I will help you with these." He said and started picking up the papers from the floor.
"The men did not find anything in the surrounding area." He told me and I growl in response.
"They will keep searching."
"Where is the witch?"
"Cole told me she was gone for hours. She went to pick herbs from the forest."
"Alpha!!" Blake's mom yelled as she walked into my office.
"I can't find the kid anywhere." She said crying.
"I want everyone to search!" I screamed.
I went out and tried to catch his smell, but I could not. What the hell? How many traitors do we have? Why do they want the child?
No, I will not lose him too. He is all I have now.
*Do not worry we will find him. *Zeus told me and I could not agree more with him.
I looked around as people went to the forest to search and I started walking north too. Whoever dared to touch him I will make sure he has the slowest and most torturous death.
