Chapter 32- Finale.

**Narrator’s POV.**

Three days had gone and the alpha king’s castle was buzzing with anxiousness over the arrival of the humans. The generous luna queen had asked the servants to prepare themselves and the chefs to make them proper, standard meals fit for kings- they were allies after all.

The alpha king had been frantic throughout the day, he was definitely not anticipating their arrival as much as his mate did. She had not slept at all yesterday as she had been setting everything up personally- from the settlement papers to the treaty documents, to decorating the already lavish castle, to buying proper clothes and shoes for her son in law, heck! She had even gone as far as buying gifts for her unborn grandchild.

Not surprisingly, the alpha king had asked some of his guards to stay at alert in case of any ‘problems’. They had also been ordered not to let the luna queen know about this as she wanted it to look like a friendly visit from some of their old pals- not on his life, anything could happen and he wanted to be ready for it.

He was slowly coming to terms with Desiree and Harrison’s relationship, although, he still could not see what possibly drew her to him. Honestly, Desiree had not given her father any other choice than to get over it; she would sit down on Harrison’s lap when they ate as a family and feed him as if he were a baby. Sometimes, she would have a full blown make out session in front of him just to piss him off and it did- every goddamn time but he had learned to control the anger and ignore her childish tactics.

DJ on the other hand had voiced out his happiness for his sister and had finally reconciled with Harrison- there was nothing he could do or say about their relationship, it was out of his hands and none of his business. He could not deny that he actually got jealous watching Harry and his sister sometimes- they were completely in love and he wanted something like that too. He wanted a girl that would love him unconditionally and would accept him as he is, just like his mother to his father; she knew how to set him straight whenever he was crossing the line and that was what he wanted.

But the question was; where there still girls like his mother out there?

The moment the Luna queen had been waiting for had finally come and she was more than happy to invite James and five other humans into her home even though her mate felt extremely uncomfortable and reluctant about it.

“James, welcome. Make yourself at home, why did you not bring more people?”, everyone knew that Daphne hated crowdy places- they made her nervous and uncomfortable but most people also knew she had a soft spot for the less privileged,

“I did not know if it was a trap or not. I will not put my people at risk”, Daphne’s mouth formed an ‘o’ shame and hurt flashed across her face, this did not go unnoticed by James, “Not that I do not trust you”, he defended before looking at the alpha king who had been glaring daggers at him, “It is him I do not trust”.

Daphne nodded, “That is understandable”, she signaled to a maid to come over, “Will you please tell the princess and princes to meet us in the office?”, the maid bowed her head before tending to her order,

“Princes?”, James asked in a mocking tone but Daphne chose to ignore it,

“Yes, your son is mated to a princess which means he is a prince by technicality”, she explained to the man even though she knew that he already understood everything. Like it or not, James was a very intelligent and diligent leader, just like her mate but they both had somethings in common which was why the clashed all the time- their egos matched the size of a blue while and their pride and inability to admit their wrongs to people were over the roof.

“Can we please get this over with?”, the alpha king asked before grabbing his mate’s hand and leading her to his office, it was quite obvious that he still did not trust James around Daphne- the man has tried to kill her once, what was stopping him for trying again? Other than the fact that he would be dead within seconds if he did.

They had settled in the office when DJ, Desiree and Harrison walked in, “Mother, you called for us?”, DJ said as he went to stand behind his parents as he usually did during meetings,

“Yes, the meeting is beginning”, she explained as Harrison greeted and welcomed his father, he and Desiree had planned to give the older man a proper introduction once the meeting was concluded. “My mate would usually speak during meetings like this but he is too much in his feelings to do so, I will be talking instead”, the alpha king grunted in annoyance and placed a permanent from on his face- he was not going to talk throughout this meeting, he had made that promise to himself, he had made that promise to himself and he was not going back on it. Unless necessary.

“I believe you have done the needed?”, James enquired and was pleased when Daphne nodded her head ‘yes’, she pulled out a file from a cabinet and placed it in front of him,

“You can go through the paper work and see if it is what we agreed on. Once finished, you can sign and the land would officially belong to the humans”, honestly, the chirpiness in her voice annoyed the alpha king, why was she so happy about giving their land away?

“Who wrote it?”, the man asked, flipping through the pages,

“Me”, Daphne said nervously, was he changing his mind on this? Did she forget to add anything?

“Then I believe that it is correct, you are a woman of integrity and I know that you are honest”, a slight blush coated Daphne’s cheek as he flattered her with his words but the alpha king did not like it; he was the only one allowed to make her bashful and he was going to remind her in multiple ways later in the day.

“My mate is not signing it and neither am I, my son would be the one signing it”,

“Very well. To make it fair, my son would also be the one signing it as well. I have also decided to hand my position down to him a day after you do the same, I do not trust myself and I do not trust your mate either”, this made the alpha king to scoff, he wanted to disagree with everything that was going on but he bit his tongue to hold back his words, he was so going to punish his mate when he had the chance and privacy to do so,

The two young men signed where they were supposed to and shook each other’s hand, sealing the deal and creating a new era where humans and lycanthropes would be able to live together in peace, serenity and harmony.
