Chapter 13 - Leaving New York

Xavier took an ice-cold shower, but it wasn't helping much. His mind kept going to the feel of Luci's mouth on him and the taste of her on his tongue. It was taking everything he had not to go into the bedroom and have his way with her. He groaned in frustration as he turned the water off and dried himself.

He wrapped the towel around his waist, cursing himself for not bringing clothes into the bathroom. If she still wasn't dressed, his towel might disappear as he wouldn't be able to resist her. He sighed in relief when he walked out, and Luci had on a pair of white shorts with a pink top. She smirked at him when she saw the towel and how he was trying not to look at her as he walked to the closet.

"What's the matter? Are you afraid I might see what's under the towel? I just had it in my mouth, so I don't think there is any reason to hide it anymore. Let me guess, he wants to come out and play." Xavier tried hard to ignore her, but the tell-tale sign was the tent under the towel. Luci started laughing as she walked over to him slowly like a cat. She yanked his towel off and looked down while rubbing her finger around the head of his penis.

"Don't worry, little guy. We'll have lots of time to play later." Xavier grabbed her hand before she could do anymore.

"That's enough. I can't take much more. Let me get dressed so we can talk about leaving New York." Luci raised her hands in defeat with a smile as he walked naked to the closet with a large rod sticking out in front of him. She knew it wasn't nice, but she liked messing with him.

When Xavier came out of the closet, he wore blue jeans and a black T-shirt. Luci's mouth suddenly went dry. Looking at him in his clothes, which hugged him in all the right places so she could see his well-defined muscles, made her want to unwrap him like a present. She looked down, feeling a little light-headed while thinking well played, lycan prince.

"How do you feel about going to Las Vegas? There will be many people of all different species there, so it could be a good place to hide for a while." Luci looked at him in surprise with a hint of amusement in her eyes.

"I love Las Vegas, but do you think taking someone like me to the city of sin is a good idea? How do you know I won't just hop from one bed to another?" She tried to sound like a tease, but Xavier thought she sounded sad.

"I know you won't because I have the same effect on you as you have on me. Besides, I don't think you were happy living that life. To me, you seemed like you were using those men to fill a void, and that's all. I'll take care of your needs as much as possible until you accept me. Can I ask you something personal?"

She didn't want to admit it, but he hit the nail on the head. Luci wasn't happy going from one man to another but liked having no emotional attachments. She would have to be careful because Xavier might make her care more than she wanted.

"Sure."

"How were you with all those men of different species but never got pregnant?" Xavier didn't want to talk about the men but was curious.

"I take birth control specially made for vampires. I only have to drink it once a month. It seems pretty effective. Now can I ask you a personal question?" Luci didn't know if she wanted to know the answer, but she had to ask.

"Of course."

"You are quite skilled with your mouth. How many women have you done that with?" Luci couldn't look him in the eye.

"Are you jealous?" Xavier smirked at her reaction. He wasn't going to let it go that easily.

"Who said I was jealous? I just wanted to know how you got so good at it?" She felt slightly angry, knowing he was trying to get under her skin.

"I can see it in your face. You don't want to know about all the women I have pleased with my mouth or any other part of my body, do you? I'm a prince, so I have no problem having any woman I want." Xavier looked at Luci, and he suddenly felt terrible when he saw the crestfallen look on her face.

"If you don't want to tell me, then don't. I don't really care anyway." Luci turned away and started heading to the closet to get her things. She didn't know why she was so upset, but it hurt her more than she wanted to admit thinking about him with many other women.

"Look at me." Xavier no longer sounded like he was playing with her, which made it even worse. She knew he must have seen how hurt she was. He walked over and turned her around to look at him.

"I was just teasing you. I haven't been with many women and only had sex with those I dated. To be honest, I'm close to three hundred years old, but my sexual experience is limited. I would go decades without being with anyone. I have been waiting for my mate. No other woman could measure up to how a mate can make me feel. Those other women meant nothing to me. If you accept me, you will mean the world to me. As far as how I took care of you with my mouth, there have only been a couple I was willing to do that with. I will do it as often as you want if it means I'm making you happy."

Xavier took a chance and raised her face to kiss her. He started slow, but slow was no longer an option when she wrapped her arms around his neck and put her fingers in his hair. Their tongues fought for control in each other's mouths. Luci and Xavier became hot very quickly. He pulled back before it got out of hand.

"Does that make you feel better?" He asked. She didn't want to admit that her heart was doing flip-flops at what he said.

"Yes, thank you. I'm sorry for being foolish. I have no right to feel that way after how I acted when we first met, but the thought of you pleasing another woman made me feel sick." Luci looked into his eyes and hoped she didn't see anything that would make her regret showing him some of her vulnerabilities.

"You don't need to apologize for anything. You were who you were before we met, and if you reject me and want to return to that lifestyle, it's your choice. I want you with me, but I'll respect your decision because I want it to be yours." Xavier raised his hand and put it on her cheek, rubbing his thumb back and forth.

Luci felt the sparks from his touch, almost making her want to say she would be his mate, but she wasn't ready to go that far yet. Even if he made her feel things no one else ever had.

"Thank you for not trying to pressure me." Luci gave him a sweet smile, and his heart melted a little more. She could have asked him for anything, and he would have given it to her. She looked the most beautiful to him when she let her soft side show.

"So, are you ready to head to Las Vegas?" Xavier took their bags and sat them next to the door.

"Yes, but is it smart to fly commercially? Nolan has a lot of contacts everywhere. When they see my name on a manifest, he will know where I am." Luci would go anywhere with Xavier but wanted to make sure they weren't followed.

"Honey, I'm a crown prince. We won't be flying commercial. I have my own private jet. The manifest will only be my name with a guest. We don't even have to go to the main airport. We'll take off from a small airstrip to decrease the chances of you being seen." Xavier smiled at her stunned expression.

"A private jet? My family is wealthy, but we always fly first class commercially. I've never been on a private jet." Luci felt excitement bubbling up in her.
"Well, let's not waste any time then. Are you ready to go? I'll have food on the plane for us." Xavier grabbed their bags with one hand and held his other hand out to her to see if she would take it.

"Let's go." Luci smiled and took his hand as they headed out the door. She had never been a hand holder, most likely because she had never been in a relationship before. His hand in hers made her feel like she was walking on air.

Xavier had called on the way down to let the hotel clerk know they were checking out and to have his car ready. When they got to the lobby, Luci squeezed his hand while she looked around, scared they would be noticed. Xavier's sense of smell was better than hers, so he and Zeke sniffed the air for any vampires hiding. Neither smelled anything, so they continued to the car.

Luci let out a sigh of relief once they were in the car and driving away. She would be glad once they made it to Las Vegas, and hopefully, Nolan would have no idea where she was while they tried to figure out what to do. Luci didn't want to be running for eternity. She thought about saying something to her dad but wasn't sure if he would believe her.

"Are you okay?" Xavier reached over and took her hand as he drove toward the small airstrip outside the city.

"I'm better now that we're leaving. Do you think I should say anything to my dad about Nolan? They're friends; I don't know if he'll even believe me. My family thinks of me as an airheaded party girl." Luci looked out the window as they drove. She watched as the New York skyline disappeared, turning into trees and residential houses.

"I can't tell you what to do, but I don't think you should tell anyone yet. Your father may confront him, and that could cause trouble. Let's wait until we decide what to do before we confide in anyone, okay?"

Xavier didn't say anything to Luci, but he had a funny feeling about her father's friendship with Nolan. He was concerned that Luci's father knew what Nolan was up to. Nolan acted pretty sloppily, and if they were such good friends, this operation of his probably wasn't a secret.

"Alright, we'll keep it to ourselves for now." Luci held his hand tighter as they pulled up to the airstrip. There was a beautiful white jet waiting for them. She saw a pilot going up the steps and a stewardess waiting at the bottom for them.

When they exited the car, Xavier handed their bags to a man, took Luci's hand, and guided her to the plane's steps. Luci didn't miss the disappointment that crossed the stewardess's face when she saw Xavier holding her hand. Being the woman she was, Luci decided to rub it in a little.

After only going up one step, she turned around to Xavier behind her and leaned down to kiss him. Luci slid her tongue into his mouth as he wrapped his arms around her holding her in place. They kissed passionately, not caring who was watching. When Luci pulled away, she looked at the stewardess's red angry face and winked at her with a smirk.

Xavier was clueless as to what was going on right in front of him. He was stunned that Luci had kissed him like that, but he wasn't going to complain. He followed her up the plane steps with a spring in his step.

Luci looked around the plane when they got inside. It could seat eight people, and there was a choice of double or single seats. The seats were made of soft, buttery, dark brown leather, and a cream-colored carpet was beneath her feet. It was all very classy looking but not over the top.

She took a double seat and pulled Xavier to sit next to her. She wasn't ready to lose that connection yet, and it helped anger the jealous stewardess a little more.

"What was that kiss for?" Xavier asked.

"To thank you and to show the stewardess who was making eyes at you jealous." Xavier looked toward the front of the plane, where the young woman glared at Luci, and he started laughing.

"Please feel free to make anyone you want jealous if you're going to kiss me like that." Xavier raised her hand up to his lips and kissed it. Luci smiled as she leaned back in her seat, still holding his hand. Maybe this mate thing wouldn't be so bad after all.
